  1. do you know what are the different types of material options we can use for grilles and how much is the cost? my contractor quoted me $18 for powder coated alum (per sqft) is that reasonable? waht about wrought iron or steel?
  2. did he say why he didn't want to replace? I just told mine to go ahead to replace the tiles. I hope there won't be any long term consequences!!!!
  3. ya, cos he said his patching back is very good, cannot see the line where there was hacking etc etc but he did tell me to feel free to engage other electricians if they are cheaper so I just might does anyone have any good electrician contacts? can PM me pls?
  4. wow are all your quotes for concealed wiring i.e. includes hacking and patching back? my contractor is intending to charge me $200 per double plug point, with hacking and patching back because I have no intention of having any feature wall or false ceiling. is that very exorbitant? he says the reason it is so high is because of the hacking and patching back.
  5. My contractor quoted me the following: $1,100 for a 8ft x 7.5ft dimension he mentions this is for powder coated steel. is it reasonable?
  6. hi, can you PM me Alex's contact number too and the website? thanks!
  7. hi i've got some cracks on the corners of 2 of my kitchen wall tiles. I asked the development contractor to replace it but he says that if he does, it will affect the rest of the tiles, and at some future point, some of the tiles may even pop out. is there any truth in what he says? or is he just saying that because he doesn't want to go through the trouble of replacing the tile? i'd prefer it changed, but if it's going to pop out in a year or 2 time after the warranty period is over, then I'll probably prefer not to. any thoughts please?
  8. Hi I've a 5.6m x 3m living / dining area combined. I'm thinking to just install 1 fan right in the middle, and it will be flanked by 2 hanging ceiling lamps because I don't like the idea of a false ceiling bringing down the height of my ceiling. what's the ideal size of fan to get? will 1 be enough? I don't think I can install more than 1? if 1 is not enough and will be ineffective, then maybe I rather think of not installing any.
  9. Anyone used Megaman before? how do you find it, and any idea how it compares to the likes of Osram and Philips energy saving bulbs?
  10. Hi, how big is your space? I currently have a 6m x 3m living+dining area and I'm considering not putting any cove lighting, but rather, to just use ceiling lights with about maybe 3 energy saving bulbs each. not sure if it will be sufficient lighting.
  11. Hi. How do you decide on whether to purchase a round or rectangular table? I've got a 6m x 3m rectangular space which serves as both living and dining areas. some people have told me round would be better for space as it accommodates more people, but others have told me rectangular makes more sense. any thoughts please?
