  1. Hi, Sorry for the long delay for the reply. Been very busy for the past few weeks and got no time to visit renotalk. My IDs are both Jeremy and William. William took over my house.
  2. Hi, My house was also renovated by DeFong. All the best for your renovation... Do enjoy the process, should be a happy and smooth journey ahead. Feel free to raise any issues and seek for advices. Thanks.
  3. Hi Reuben82, My house was renovated by Jeremy and William of Defong. For laminates they are using Formica laminates (Formica is just a brand name, just like ladies go for Prada or Gucci). I have no complaints for their carpentry workmanship. Price wise I do agree that initially I also have reservations on how come the price are that cheap after comparing with the other IDs. The diff can be as huge as $6-7k! Due to my tight budget and still wanting to have every items I wanted for my first home. I decided to risk my money... I even went to one of their showflats in Sengkang and was actually quite pleased with their works. No regrets I would say and so far I have already recommended to few of my friends as well as reno forumers. The IDs are very nice and responsible people. Now we already become very good friends through this renovation period. My house even becomes one of their show rooms for couples to view. Their carpenters are also one bunch of friendly and **** experienced carpenters. Workmanship is cool. After work services are also important as they had already came to rectify very minor defects for me (one of which is the false ceiling which Jeremy think is not smooth enough which I did not even notice it). Toking about the price is too cheap to be true. They did mentioned to me before that they were afraid such cases will occur whereby customers will think their stuff are sub-standard thus cheap. But again when it comes to such matters, it really depends on individuals, you never try u never know. It really brings down to the same concept of why people would want to buy Levis jeans compare to Hangten jeans. It is just a matter of personal feel. Till now i have never regretted getting a hangten jeans for myself. But again, eventually the house is urs, the money is urs, just go by your own comfort zone. Maybe go for a few more quotations with the same items which you want and also like what the others were saying, for electrical points etc, get a pricelist from them and compare the price yourself. I would say compare as a overall amount, there will be cases where ID A have some items cheaper than B and vice versa. So it really depends on the final quotations. Sorry for being so "lo so". all the best for your reno.
  4. PMed you already. For those who wishes to search for their contact, can go to google and search for Defong, their website is their company .com.sg All the best for your reno and cheers to all Defongers...
  5. Hi cpc77555, Agree with limwilly that their price is reasonable. Their workmanship is also good and the IDs are responsible and reliable. No harm seeking their help and you can compare their quotations with the other IDs. Defong's quotes should be one of the cheapest. Yap, you may wish to view their showflats and should go and take a look. Some IDs just give empty promises but when asked to view their showflats, they will give u 1001 excuses and just show pictures. But Jeremy or William will bring you to their existing ones to prove to you their work. Think you can just tell Jeremy or William that you are recommended by forum and should be getting a good discount. I did that by telling them that forum says that Defong is VERY good and they actually give me a very good quotes. For those who want to know more think can just go to their site and check out their contacts. Go to google and search for DEFONG. BTW limwilly, wonder if the showflat you went to, is it my flat? Hehe...
  6. Hi Ernie, If you are going to Ideal House for quotation, you can also try Defong Interior Design. Quotes are reasonable and workmanship is good. Their office is just beside Ideal House...
  7. For those who are interested in Defong's work may wish to follow on this t-blog - http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25259 Although seems like its been quite a while that the owner updated the blog. But still can see some of the progress for the renovation. The company has moved up 1 level up to a bigger office area. I had just visited the new office and they now have a mini show room area to showcase their stuff. Seems like business is expanding for them. All the best to them!!! My house was designed and coordinated by them and I would say that they had did a fantastic job!!! Workmanship was excellent. Jeremy is a nice chap to work with and half way through the project, my house was passed on to a new ID - William to settle the rest of the stuff. Although new to the line, William showed great patience and is a very responsible guy who helped me settled most of the problems and renovation stuff. Along the way there are bound to have some changes and no complains whenever I need to change some of the stuff. Quotes wise is very reasonable. I used the same items and asked for quotations from almost 10 ID firms and I would say Defong is one of the most reasonable. Some of the IDs can quote more than 50% of what Defong quoted. Workmanship wise, I have no complaints... The workers are friendly and approachable, for those weekends I spent with them, I enjoyed the chit chat sessions and learned quite a far bit of knowledge from them too.
