  1. I'm surprised that Wayne of IMM provide us with prompt service. The only hiccup was from the logistics dept. They called me on 11th Feb noon to informed me that they will deliver the sofa between 3-6pm. At 4pm, the sofa has not arrived. I called and the lady answered seems so blur and said she'll call me again but never did. I called at 6pm and another lady answered that the office is closing and no one there. I raised my voice at her and demanded an answer. Then I received a call from the blur lady saying that there is problem with the container and they cannot deliver today. I questioned and challenged her on the arrival of the container, the consignment note's date and time of unloading, etc. She "ah, ah" then said " oh, the forklift spoilt so unable to unload the good". I'm puzzled, shouldn't the sofa be on the delivery truck this morning for despatch before they called to inform me the time of delivery? She replied "Not only yours, many customers also affected". Goodness! Luckily I didn't bought my living room sofa from them, this sofa is for my family room. I'm having guests coming on the eve of CNY. Imagine without a sofa in the main hall? I can see how frustrated and angry other customers must be. I called Wayne, but he's not in the showroom so I sms him. He promptly responsed that he is outside and will get the office to call me. The next day, he called and actually deliver the sofa personally to me. I must say he is quite patience even I have reselected the fabric and requested modifications a few times. As for the quality, definitely better than FBT(Octagon) and Nova. That is in another thread.
  2. Do they have retail outlet here? Or got to purchase it online? Thanks.
  3. After much consideration I bought a set of bedroom set for my boy and was delivered on monday. I really got a shock! The quality is so lousy. So different from the showroom piece. I went down to the showroom to verify the quality and indeed the showroom piece is of superior condition. Whereas the one sitting in my boy's room has chips almost everywhere and in every piece. I can obviously see the patches. The drawers are not align properly. Really lousy quality!!! No wonder they have drop the price from S$3k+ to S$2k+. I called them and they came down to service. Gosh! They just patch it here and there and it is so eye sore as the colour doesn't blend in. Feel so cheated!!! Everyone, BEWARE OF FBT FURNISHING!!! UNDER OCTAGON. Where's kidkraft? Will go there to see for my younger boy when he's a bit bigger. Any other company?
  4. I realised that Duxton Boutique Hotel is using exactly the same design as mine. I bought them 10 years ago!
  5. You're right! That's the one. Mine still in good condition.
  6. There's a warehouse at Tagore Lane near Kidzloft. They sell all sort of plate, cups, serving bowls, etc. Can't find the address. But if you drive there, you will be able to see the banner. Robinsons and John Little give good discount for their members. Aussino also sells plates and bowl. Don't spend on Corelle. They are not the same quality as it is 25 years back. They have sold their rights to OEM who produce unbreakable but not "from the freezer to the fire" anymore. Go to Yahoo! and type "Pyrex is dangerous". 300 consumers were cut and burned by exploding pyrex. I've seen with my own eyes. It was only from the table to the stove for simmering (low heat). It broke into 3 big pieces and chips are flying all over the stove and floor with a loud exploding burst! Corelle, corningware, pyrex, chicago cutlery, ekco & revere is now owned by World Kitchen. Not Corning, Inc. Good Luck!
  7. It's very tough to find good confinement nanny nowaday. You can call up A-team. But it's EXPENSIVE. They will replace her immediately if you are not satisfied during her svc.
  8. Forgot to add. When you visit the showroom, you can request them to lay a few (6pcs) together to see the effect. Also pls remove your shoes and step on them to get a feel of the texture. Rough surface does not equate to non slippery. HDB provided very rough tiles for my toilet and believe it or not, my maid and my MIL fell. The rough tiles actually retain water and causing algae to form quickly on the surface. This create slippery effect. I end up re-lay the tiles with smoother Homogenous tiles. And it's so easy to maintain and surprisingly, it's not slippery and the surface dries up so fast after every wash. Seek advise from the sales @ Hafary and Soon Bee Huat(Toh Guan). They give reasonable good advice. Also use Homogenous tiles with bottom and top of the same colour. If they happened to chip, which hardly unless you dropped a pestle or a mortar, it will not be obvious. Good Luck!
  9. When tiles are lay for kitchen or toilet, it required a slight but not obvious slope towards the floor trap (drainage). Contractor will use a level spirit while laying the tiles and they have to ensure a gradual slope will allow water to flow in the direction towards the drainage. So when you wash your floor, the water will gradually heads towards the water drainage even if you don't sweep them. By using 30 x 30, that will enable the contractor to manage the slope better. But with 30 x 60, tiles are difficult to lay with 3 directions/corners needed to slope towards the drainage. Smaller the better. Understand?
  10. I'm looking for kids furniture for my son who's in P2 now. Been to FBT @ IFC. Seen their furniture and quite impress with the quality though was told they are made in China. Has anyone bought one before? Just wondering how's their quality cos my son is very rough with his stuff. It cost >S$2k for cabinet, bed and a study table.
  11. Use smaller tiles for kitchen and toilets due to the water flow. The difference in price is also due to the made. Those made in Spain are of course more ex compare to those made in China and Malaysia. I choose to use 30 x 30 Spain tiles which cost S$3.60 @ Soon Bee Huat but S$3.30 @ Hafary. Same made, same code, same tile. The ex-owner of my house used Spain tiles and it is so lasting and durable. My maids are so clumsy and kept dropping pots and pan on the homogenous tiles, but my tiles are never damage. If not because of the relocation of my kitchen sink, I wouldn't hack it away. I also noticed that most of the China tiles @ the supplier's showrooms have minor chips, whereas those made in Spain and Italy seems more durable. Pay attention on your next visit. Hope this helps and good luck!
  12. I'm very surprised to see so many bad remarks on RED APPLE and they still survive till today. CASE should do something about it. I just bought a sofa from them and paid in full. Kind of regret cause the one I saw few months back in IFC before my renov appeared to be similiar to the one display in their showroom. Same fabric and same design. Thinking that I'm getting the same one, I made the purchase and two days later, I brought my mom to IFC to look for a TV console and realised it's a diff company and the original sofa design has a solid base. Now thinking of canceling the order, but will forfeit 30%. Also indicate deposit not refundable at the back of the invoice. Sigh, keeping my finger cross on the delivery before CNY and the quality.
  13. It's good to have such thread to remind us that there are fake consumer. Beside bad mouthing, there are some even praises too much with made believe encounters. I got tricked by one claiming fantastic service, good experience blah blah. And when I hired her recommendation. My total regrets! Saw a few threads on RED APPLE's bad services but didn't see their director come to their defence. HMMM...
  14. I got my tiles from Hafary. My ID did nothing. I visited 3 suppliers and impressed with their service. Also happen that the tiles I like is S$0.60 cheaper than the others. Same tile, same code, same made. So I insisted to get from them though my ID refused to deal with Hafary. My ID chose a rough surface tiles for my kitchen and fortunately we seek Hafary advise. Cause rough tiles tends to trap oil especially we do heavy cooking and surely we will have a hard time to maintain it. Another tiles supplier is Soon Bee Huat @ Toh Tuck. They have big showroom and mock ups. Good to pay a visit there. Staff gave similar advise as Hafary. Take your time to choose cause once lay, no way to turn back. Good Luck!
