  1. It highly depends on the chemistry between the ID and home owners. Though it's the same company, I did not engage any "K", but the one I engaged should be called contractor, not ID, as the I came up with most of the designs on my own and get round the problems/issues of renovation on my own. As usual, renovation work is hardly all smooth sailing, I am quite easy going already, but recent spades of events has really irked me. I understand that the change I asked for is AFTER the handover of the flat, hence I was really accomodating on the time. I deliberately delayed the delivery of my furnitures so to accomodate the change. I delayed the furnitures for a month. Good time management apparently is not the forte of my contractor. Like pregnancy, the last trimester is always the hardest, so the last bit of renovation usually is painful to bear cos it's tiny bits of work. I can say that I must learn to be jaded about this last bit of touch up lest I get a stroke due to the angry bursts of frustrations.
  2. To them, what matters is the order number of the stones, cos they are NATURAL STONES that changes colour depending on batches. Hence, I was asked to choose another set of stones lest the exact same batch was delivered. So I chose another colour similar to what I ordered, but it has different set of order number. Expected delivery tomorrow... fingers and eyes crossed...
  3. I'm sure the product would have some form of weight limit for safe use. Of course, those that are installed proper into walls are safer, this is another option that is installation-free and removable. I saw it from the shop front. Shop name is Bion Advance.
  4. I chose the stones on the left, stones on the right were delivered instead. However, the order number of the stone I chose was on the packet of stones delivered. Harfary said it's due to batches, it comes like this, cos they are natural stones. Can the stones evolved in colour of such drastic change? Either that, or I'm colour blind, which makes my job as a lowly engineer credible now... http://a.imageshack.us/img828/2710/pebblestones.jpg
  5. There is a place in Holland Drive selling all the medical apparatus for home use. They have those hand railings that has suction pads, hence, no installation required.
  6. Mine is corridor unit, hence I used those frosted films to stick onto my windows. Effect is very much to my satisfaction and I don't have to install curtains or blinds for privacy.
  7. Anyone knows where there are bean bags galore?
  8. What's the Renotalk hot dealer, S & C?
  9. I moved in for a week and problem started merging.... Carpentry workmanship is poor, i mentioned to my ID that the larder door was misaligned, then the worker merely put a magnet at the door! My cupboard has no handles, imagine how difficult it is to open my larder door.... Then the worse thing is.. washing machine outlet pipe is not deep enough, so when I washed my clothes in the washer, the water started leaking out! The delivery men did say my outlet was too shallow....
  10. Mine was overall renovation. I should ask for discount then... haha!!
  11. I asked him if plastering could be the problem. But he said that plastering merely confirms to what the original is. It's just a layer to cover it. Hence if there is a bump, the plastering can only follow the bump. Next, I asked him if he could have flattened that bit first before putting L box, he said nooooooo... I'm utterly tired to argue with him again... I have 2 such L boxes with crooked lines. The other one has 2 crooked bits!
  12. I already made the request for the contractor to rectify it twice and same thing. He said it just cannot be helped..... sigh!
  13. Hi all Just to check... My L box is kinda crooked where the ceiling meets the L Box. My contractor said it's due to the ceiling of HDB unit, when the ceiling is uneven, the L-Box will have to yield to the uneven-ness. Sorry that it is not very obvious from the pics due to the lighting, but when one is personally there, is it very obvious.
  14. Yup, the laminate is called Fabrica or something like that... How is your progress by far? Now no one is working at my place. I'm still left with final painting and clean up. Hopefully, my flat can finally be completed by 26th June! Exactly 2 months since they started hacking, isn't that soooooooo fast with a 3-room flat!?!?!
  15. Hi adah, sorry for late reply... is your completed? Mine is at carpentry stage as if now. Will post some pics when it's all finally done. I guess I can say that this company is quite alright, but depends on whom takes on your project. 
  16. My renovation works started on 26th Apr too... Took 2 weeks for tiling for 65sqm house, which, I thought was taking too long. How long did yours take?
