  1. Hey Lilithfiend, Congratz on your start of reno.... Can't wait to see the reno work done by the same ID co we had, B&E Builder. Hope they keep their promises with good workmanship+services Conveinent to post the tiles you selected.... btw, Electrician is recommended from B&E as well? I've seen their price list, looks reasonable.
  2. Hey Ngunadi, Thanks for your feedback. Fujioh hob- most probably we'll get this bah. Storage Heater- Hubby prefer Joven ones as quite a few good review that water heat up fast and still warm the next morning.. May I know how much and where did you get the Joven ones? btw, did you get Blum system eventually? Saw your comment in Lilthfiend's blog. Saw that you did a partition wall near your main entrance,we have to do one as well cos the main entrance is facing kitchen window. Can i know how much is the dining table+chairs from S&C? Sorry ah... so many queries.
  3. Hi Angteko, Can I have the contact for Mr Chew (curtain maker)? Mind to share the cost of your Roman blinds? I ask quote from one shop at FMall and was quoted $2k for 3 roman for 3 bdrooms (3 panel sliding with top hung) + full length day and night curtain at Balcony (5 panels casement with top hung). Don't know is it exp or not. Roman mechiasm used is "Yokota" (japan made), 5 yrs warranty.
  4. Hi Dugong6, Where and what was the price for the blinds?
  5. Hi Newie-X, It's a brand name. http://www.blum.com/sg/en/11/01/index.php You may opt for alternative/cheaper Blum-like system from Ikea. It's also Blum but made for Ikea... Hope it helps.
  6. 25-Apr-10 =1st trip to The Furniture Mall= We reached the mall around 1 plus, decided to settle our lunch there. To our disappointment, there's only 1 mini cafeteria and 'suay suay' it's not open today!! It's very unusual...no foodcourt or more cafeteria in such a 'big' mall? No choice, we've to drive out to the opposite hawker centre with our kids just to have our lunch and go back to the mall again... <weather is very unpredictable nowadays so better don't take the risk> Today, other than shopping for furnitures, it's our 1st time we asked for quotes for our curtains+blinds at one of the shop. We did not bring our floor plan along and were quoted about $2,000 (no gst) for the following : ~ Roman blinds with Yokota machanism-Japan 3 Bedrooms with 3 panels sliding windows with top hung (not full height windows). ~ Full length day and night curtain for 5 panels of casement window. All above comes with 5 yrs warranty. Can anyone advise if this is a good?
  7. Hi Angteko, No problem at all. Thanks for your greeting. You mean I have much wall for tv? Are you refering to the wall just outside the MBR? We are afraid that it might be too near and after placing sofa the back will be very narrow. Yeah.. i didn't realised it also. I thought i am the only one engaging B&E. Oh, the 3D drawing is just a preliminary ones... we have not choose the laminates so just take it as a guide nia.
  8. I see.. I thought a concrete wall will save us some rather than carpentry. Trying to find way to cut down our cost. If I am not wrong, it cost us $800 for that wall. Looking forward for more picts of your new home.
  9. Just to confirm that I dint see wrongly, that wall is built after your main entrance right? I didn't engage a FS master but for my case I have to fabricate one partition wall after the main entrance as well (since the main entrance is facing almost directly to the kitchen windows which is not good in FS general term) and was wondering why mine is a carpentry work instead of concrete, don't k ow if it's makes any different or not? Haha... So sorry, can't give u idea of what to be placed, my creativity mind vry limited edition nia that's y have to engage an ID.. LOL
  10. =More updates=Tiles selection Common Bathroom <Top black with a little blink blink effect for floor, bottom 2 also a little blink blink effect for wall> Common Bathroom - Close up centre piece wall tiles Common Bathroom - Close up bottom piece wall tiles
  11. =updates= Tiles selection Floor tiles forLiving+Dining+Balcony <unless we decide to proceed with the Platform Laminated @ Balcony> Kitchen Floor <brown but somehow look greish??> + Wall <with flora when close up> MBR Bathroom Floor+Wall <light brown for dry area and dark brown for wet area> hope we could create a spa feel.
  12. Hey Dugong, Was browsing your blog... it looks very modern retro. Simply love your kitchen mosiac, look so cheerful! If i were to convert my study room to entertainment room, I will have hard time placing my dining table... Actually, the existing balcony was already levelled up, same level as living room, we are thinking of having a platform laminated for the balcony but that will cost us another $1K plus <fainted>. We can't think of any theme, maybe something modern will do... so easy to please hor. Glad that you are enjoying the northern fresh air... Maybe you should go to Upper pierce reservior in the morning, can see monkeys running around but no feeding ah. Go for the Casuarina prata first, just nearby the reservoir <there's an open space parking along upper thomson road>.
  13. Actually, we do not have any theme in mind, just hope to have something easy to maintain+suit our budget. I told my ID we like to have more "white" in our reno becos we like bright bright le. Hey, we are all staying in the north zone...
  14. Hi Dugong6, Thanks for your comment. But the wall (darken portion) of the study room cannot be hacked le.. ermm... the study room is kinda of dark since there is only 2 panel of windows.

  18. Preliminary 3D drawing Living room (Drawing did not shown windows @ Balcony, behind the partition wall) Shoes cabinet behind main door+Bomb Shelter (Build a partition wall bcos main entrance facing almost directly to kitchen windows-Fengshui purpose) Kitchen (No full height cabinet due to limited tabletop space) MBR (Saw that grey portion beside the wardrobe? That's the air con ledge which ID proposed to build wardrobe for long clothing/dresses. Servicing of air con must access from here)
