  1. thanks for the info....wow $100....think better stick back to ikea...
  2. hi merydith how's your reno coming to?
  3. din c the shower caddy that u n me wanted...there is another caddy they are selling at the Homefix but i still prefer the one u put up. yeah, initially hubby like it too. but with the price tag so high, he also shake his head....
  4. I love the idea of this frame. was initially thinking of getting a couple of ikea frames and DIY layout on my dining area wall....now this one might also be an alternative...how much is the frame? Is the size of the pics fixed by the frame?
  5. for mine, I will change once reno complete cos rite now letters are all to my in-law place.
  6. thanks....din think of it but yeah, there is uniformity in the lights we've got.... we were jus looking at lights we like and that can have a simple and lasting look. once Alex on the Living room hanging light, I immediately fell in love with it. IT"S SO NICE~! too bad I din take pic when the light is on. the dining lights also, they come with a changing colour lights too which is nice. best of all, maintenance is pretty easy, that is most impt.
  7. MBR lights (this is going to be in warm white lights) LED dining lights (wun be directly over the dining table....need to discuss with contractor again...) LED living lights (warm white) for Bomb shelter, we took Alex's advice and bought a big fat bulb and holder. like wat he say, most impt is lasting and economical. no need to look nice nice cos no one will look into ur bomb shelter, make sense! Delivery: FOC Installation: finally decided to go back contractor's electrician. For those who wants to know the pricing for installation for A Lightings, it's $35 for 1st light, $8 each for subsequent lights.
  8. Bought my lights at A Lightings last nite. It was a last min decision to go since my office is so near Geylang and I was able to leave on time. Hubby was grumbling that Geylang so hard to park car. but hor luckily we managed to find a lot very easy....talk abt fate.... Went into A Lightings, first thing caught my eye was the light i was aiming at Lightings.com.sg and i checked the price. good, competitive to Lightings.com.sg...then I started looking around. Previously at Lightings.com.sg, I did see some lights which I like but their designs are also pretty limited. their hanging lights, hubby dun like the design and we dun wan any halogen lights which seems to be so for most of their nicer lights....so in fact I was dreading to make a decision to buy all at Lightings.com.sg. But....when I was at A Lightings, we were able to find lights that we like. not one, not two but several ones in fact. so for this time round, the headache is to choose one from all that we like. Thanks to Alex for his sound advice and also thanks to Lilith to recommend A Lightings and also Zelly for LED lights.... we got the lights as follows: Kitchen lights x 2 Toilet Lights x 2 WIW light son's room and study room
  9. i ordered the same hood!! but hor, I saw the actual product in Mega Discount and it was alright leh??
  10. did slight bargaining cos Alex gave me good prices. overall he gave me another small discount so thought i find it ok. decided fast is cos I like the lights there. intially at lightings.com.sg, I only managed to decide on kitchen, toilet and mbr but other rooms like dun seem to see something I like instantly. at A Lightings, it's like this is nice that is nice....ahhhh
  11. hey babes, some new updates on my side....after all the posting last evening, me gian lor to visit A lightings so (since hubby is on time to fetch me and I can leave on time) we drove down to A Lightings to see if we can still catch them. hehe... good news is they are open till 8.30pm and the even better news is I love their lights and prices and the best news is.........i bought my lights liao...all of them pics to be upload in my T-blog.
  12. haha....no lah but cannot stand this type of attitude from service ppl. u dun wan serve fine, dun make remarks like that which i feel is slander to an extent...some more say out loudly. no class and no manners!
  13. Froggy: me at anchorvale but somewhat same cos we also have a single panel window to the ledge so the main thing is to have a compressor that can fit the window so we can bring it out mah. but hor, cannot be that ALL sys 3 and above cannot rite? hear already also feel so ridiculous. I jus dun even bother to waste my breath retorting him or else sure make him speechless! pinktini: thanks for the contact, I already called england's contact to do site visit today. if really they cannot then i will contact yours. infinite: wah, you got to be careful wor, based on the situation you describe, i think they trying to re-extend the handover. you already give one month and some more they like that. you got to get your agent working cos you have the right to the house wor. they cannot keep overstaying like this. at least they have to pay rent cos u are already starting to pay the loan leh. keys to mailbox i have 2. depends on your unit. some were given 2 some 3. but i intend to change the lock for the mailbox so regardless how many. change already feel safer...dunno if they got keep spare key or not.
  14. ya cos Edmund says lights shop installation charge will be cheaper than his electrician so can save a bit. plus if light shop install, any problem with the lights like missing bulb or crack bulb etc, the guy will bring back change for u. If we install ourselves, we will need to bring it back to shop and exchange. so after hearing these, we decided to follow his suggestion. it's only the T5 that we will ask his electrician to install. ya, weekend or weekday evening ba. but weekends also busy leh, my second job.....take son to music class n swimming class.... dun hv a lot of leave cannot anyhow take. any idea what time they close at night?
  15. it's these stupid attitude that these sales ppl give that does it. i cannot stand when this happen. u must be too nice. if it were me, i will turn back to her and scold until she cower in front of me or retract her statement.
  16. bro reuben, got to be careful when buying these toilet furniture from Ikea. my mum got similar ones there and it started rotting pretty soon after installing. think u got to DIY and waterproof it like ossify.
  17. wcseow: wah, GG ur that salesguy is ultimate lor. can get wrong brand somemore when standing infront of it and looking at it. all these courts sales all tua-kang one lah. i'm sure if test them product knowledge sure all fail. Lilith: ya, getting non-inverter cos out of 365 days, i think i only most on 3 - 4 days for majority of the aircons. likely to on only the study often cos hubby teaching at home and need aircon to minimize sound transmission to outside. so no point getting inverter, not fully utilizing it. I also c the thread and start to worry for u as well. let's pray they swee swee for u.
  18. the moment i saw it in Homefix, i was so happy cos i saw in the website i was but once i saw the price tag i drop it back.... but the holder feels so solid... dun think i can get it...wallet already burning. so if pinktini gets it we will all at hers the other simplehuman things also pretty ex. the trash bin i saw and like was like $90??!!
  19. my full glass swing door is $400 only leh.... why u half glass almost my price liao.
  20. hey Zelly, ya i want to go A lightings, already informed hubby it's a must-go place though he is leaning towards lightings.com.sg cos of the Ps3... u got the lightings from there already? if I buy I sure can buy until they deliver cos whole house lightings I want to settle at one shop and I'm getting them to install...lightings.com.sg's installation price is ex so that's why I'm hesitating. switches will be visiting choo chiang... Lilith: not panicking but am stressed cos no time on my hand and most shops close early. i need more than 24 hours....!
  21. i tried calling but cannot get them and their showroom hours are like working hours which I cannot make it. also to be honest, after i got the number from you, I saw another thread where quite a couple ppl actually complaint abt the installation of Creation so am a little worried. so in the end I went for this guy. He quoted me $1999 for sanyo sys 3 non inverter include install, dismantle, gst and upgrade insulation. Additional trip is $50. Hubby finds it ok cos same model at NC and gain city is like $200 - 300 more.
  22. I know i know!! I saw in Homefix Marina Sq. but hor, price very nice wor......$100+ i c liao but hor ex leh for a holder.
  23. if it's crizto u can ask GR Link cos they may be able to get cos space in shop is limited.... so far I have no problem parking at Jl Besar leh. I jus park at either the open space lots one road before or the multi storey carpark near the Jl Besar FC. can find space one lah. or alternatively u hv model number hor, call up GR Link and enquire. they should be able to give u a price over the line if they carry it. Then saves u the trip to go down to check it out. Alternatively, u can try checking Summer Trading at Toa Payoh. Heard it's a good price for their items there and service is good too. I wanted to go there initially but cos hubby n friend wanted to check out Jln Besar so in the end settled with GR Link.
  24. ya lah, i told him how can that be possible. I can install a sys 4 in my previous house which was also in sengkang. insisted that it was cos it was a old model compressor so can. i think he jus thought me stupid and trying to bluff me to get a sys 2 + sys 1 so he can earn more. some more the sales girl who initially approach me when i stepped in was also another kind. dun even know her products....i jus ask a simple question of how big is the compressor dimension she also dunno. can even show me wrong model....was recommending me a inverter sys 3 and showed me a non-inverter. the compressor she recommended was huge and even i can see that sure cannot fit my window and she say can. then the guy stepped in and make me even more doubtful about their knowledge of the product.
  25. sort of....went natural cool woodlands yesterday evening and got a very bad experience. stupid salesguy keep saying our window in sengkang too small, new models compressor big so no way we can do sys 3 and keep asking us to take sys 2 or sys 1. He jus bloody well cannot understand my requirement. I jus want a sys 3, nothing more, nothing less!!! If it's like wat he say cannot put sys 3, then die lah, all aircon companies cannot do new HDB business liao cos most are like mine with 1 panel window to the aircon ledge. I can understand if u say certain models cannot, but ALL??!! Ridiculous. Left immediately and went Courts but dunno i suay or wat, not a single salesguy come up to serve us even though we were standing there and discussing what we should get. after we walked away to a corner a little distance away for me to make a call, some other customer walked by and they were served! i dun look like i can afford an aircon is it??!! well, before all these happened, i got a aircon contact from forcesguy and bro england whom both of them were strongly recommending...and sms him for a quote. quote seemed ok but we wanted to recce if there are better offers from the big guys. but with all the **** i got from the big guys, i decided to call Aron to ask him more. In the end we fixed a site visit with him for him to access the place and discuss the setting of the trunking. so sort of decided lah.....
