  1. I used to think the same many years ago, ie Made in China = lousy/unreliable. Later on I joined a big US firm which sells leisure electronic products as PM. Part of my job involves sourcing for companies in places like China and Indonesia for manufacturing and assembly of products. This is when I found out that no matter where the product is made/assembled, it still have to pass the same global/regional recognised certifications, as well as my company's own internal stringent quality and reliability tests/checks. IMO if u're buying (especially bigger and more expensive) products from a big MNC, there's nothing to worry about even if it's Made in China. Big MNCs are very concerned about their branding and reputation. But buying a China brand or some other lesser known brands is another story...
  2. My number was mid 400s and there were only 280+ Chinese quota available (only total 300+ units). Still I got my unit...10th floor some more. So wat Mr Marlboro says is true some times...many ppl do give up. There are many who dun really need a flat that urgently. They just ballot like they are playing Toto, see if they can strike lucky n a good unit. Ur sis still got chance.
  3. U're overcharged if they list the price as X amount and later charged u a price higher than X for the same item. HN can price it at 10k if they want to, up to them to price it. Seems like u haven't bought anything so u're free to look for the best price.
