  1. Those at Ikea... sizes cannot fit my cabinet
  2. I would recommend A&D Interior. The guy i dealt with was Raymond, a funny guy although one may not notice by looking at his face He's responsive and not so calculative after you've engaged him. But i must say after comparing 3 contractors, i found A&D's pricing cannot be considered as cheap. I struggled for a while and then decided to engage Raymond because i felt more secure talking to him. Overall, the workmanship is good. There're some minor problems here and there, but as long as we were able to spot those problems, Raymond and his team were fast to attend to our concern (my wife and I would visit the house at night, after every major work like painting, polishing of marble floor, installation of kitchen cabinet and etc. We will call him immediately when we spotted any problem). Eventually, the project completed on time on target
  3. I engaged 138 as my mover recently. The supervisor and the workers are all Indians. Although I told them which are the boxes containing fragiles items like light bulbs and glasses and specifically told them not to stack those boxes, they still did it nonetheless. Luckily i wrapped my stuffs very carefully, so nothing was broken during the move. I guess we can't trust the movers 100% and have to take precaution as much as we can?
  4. My furniture arrived flawlessly Except there's some loose thread on my sofa. I decided to call them to ask about potential problem. They offered to change the sofa cover for me, but eventually i decided not to do so because it's a very minor problem.
  5. it is about 30-45 minutes away from JB custom by cab. Buy a ticket at the taxi counter there, it will cost you about RM20. Coming back, you can ask the people at MIVA (or Gucca) to call for a cab, that will cost you about RM17-18 (including the charge for booking a cab).
  6. Anyone knows a cheap and good place to shop for metal handles for closet and cabinet? THanks!
  7. Same, gotta go there to make full payment before they deliver. Don't know if you can request to check the furniture at their warehouse before delivery, i don't intend to do that. My thinking is, they are doing quite a big business, having shops in JB & KL and also export to other countries. So there's no incentive for them to cheat my few thousands Ringgit? I think more importantly is to make sure the invoice and receipt are clearly written, and to check the furniture carefully before signing the acceptance of delivery. According to the salesman, if there's problem upon delivery, you can write it on the invoice and then ask the mover to send the merchandise back to MIVA, without signing the invoice. They will rectify the problem and send another one to you. Oh, don't forget to take some pictures of the defects, that's just my thoughts.
  8. 2&4 Jalan Molek 1/12, Taman Molek, 81100 JB, Johor Malaysia. Tel: 607-3528133
  9. Nope, don't have any photo now. Delivery at end-March. Will post some pics after that. They offer quite nice choices, both on price and design. Worth paying them a visit. Anyway, there are at least 4-5 furniture shops at Taman Molek. That makes a visit more compelling
  10. I just bought my set of furnitures from MIVA (or Gucca Italy, their export brand) in Taman Molek, JB, on Thursday. Overall experience was ok because the staffs didn't want to give me more discounts. My list of purchase: L-shaped sofa (2.9m width x 1.8m length) - RM2530 TV console (2.3m length) - RM1800 Bed frame + mattress (queen size) - RM2960 Coffee table - RM1060 Total cost: RM8350 + 7% GST + RM200 (levy) = RM9134.5 Forgot to ask for freebies...
