  1. Hi guys, sorry to post a comment which does not relate to ho bee. I'm looking for good plumber to do below services, I will be appreciated if you guys could introduce a reliable and reasonable plumber to me. I called NTUC home service for their listed plumber, but I a had horrible experience. 1. Water leakage from storage heater I guess I need to replace with new one. I do have Rheem right now in common bathroom, but it seems like this brand always give me leakage problem. So I'm considering Joven. (I'm using it and so far it works great) 2. Install new w/c to my common bathroom. Thanks guys and happy new year.
  2. Any one has uncle Johnny's phone number?? I'm having trouble finding good plumber. I called NTUC Home service, but plumbers they've selected were terrible. I tried one, and I've just paid him transportation charge $18 so that he can go home. He does not listen to my intention of brand and procedure. I called again to re-introduce another plumber from NTUC, this time the plumber ask me to pay $40 for just inspection.
  3. Don't waste your money for this worst WC. The strength of water flush is insufficient. Don't choose wc for it's design, go for TOTO wc.
  4. It depends on what you are expecting from reno company. If you are hoping various advices for design, layout, and color aspect from reno company, use ID instead of Ho Bee. Also, if you don't have time to check on the progress of works every day, then you would better use id instead of Ho Bee. If I were you, I will use them for tiling jobs and hacking only. I think there are not much of price difference between Ho Bee and ID. But remember, even how well ID presents 3D stuff to you, the actual works being done by contractor. It depends on the quality of their contractor for the end result. So either way, your chance to get the right reno company is as tough as a russian roulette. LOL Good Luck.
  5. It's your money, don't give up and talk with Patrick, (put aside your frustration) calmly tell him what to fix exactly. I would not expect no from him, but if he say no, then tell him that cannot pay the rest of the money (maybe you have not paid anything). See how he reacts to that response. Good Luck.
  6. Hi, I thought the only sales point of Ho Bee is good tiler LOL. I used Ho Bee for my EC renovation last year. (mainly bathroom) His tiler has done a almost perfect job (design of tiles are being aligned as much as possible). In contrast, his painters were nightmare. I donated 1.5k for lousy painting. However, I'm thinking to chase Patrick for any problem might occur in future for his work. If he grumble and refuse to fix the problem, then I will come back to this forum and share my frustration, LOL. What do you mean by hollow anyway?
  7. Still any one out here know about Ho Bee warranty period? I really want to know since I have few place need to be fixed, but I am wating cauz my house need to be organized before starting anywork. (still many things on the floor, unorganaize) I don't thin I can find on his invoice or quotation. I forgot to ask him about it. So basically its verbal agreement. anyone??
  8. Let me make one more comment, I would rather pay money on time for each phase than He and his contractor do their works wrongly. Yes, he is easy going with payment schedule but that won't help the quality of work. Qulaity is very subjective but least, 1. Don't damage the original furnishings. 2. Communicate well with contractor so don't waste time for re-doing works. 3. Least clean up the place to original condition. I believe the above 1,2,3 is minimum requirement of good quality work. Think about it if this is your car, 1. After pass your car for glooming and polishing, car being returned scrathced and dented. 2. You asked repair shop boss to fix dents but not sratches, but their worker fixed all and you are being charged for both. 3. After completion of repair, your car being returned muddy, oily condition, and without vacume cleaning. Its very funny that if car being treated like this, I get pist and demand them for thier responsibility, but when home, I feel like I need to give in and let it go, haha. even house is x times more valuable asset than car!! Very Strange. May be for home, it is not easy to tryout several renovation compnay. (I die $$ if I try even 2 more for my house for whole works) So we do not have sense of quality standard in this line.
  9. nn, You should tell Patrick to deduct the cost for varnishing. If he say cannot refund money, then ask him for other extra works using that $500 credit. Latter option, I dont think he can deny if you really mention not to varnish doors. I think there are much worse contractor out there. Odds for choosing right one will be hard as winning a TOTO, haha. Do you know the duration of Warranty from Ho Bee? I saw thread someone got 5 years warranty!! Can this be true?
  10. Hi weii If you don't mind, why don't you share with us. I used Ho Bee for my minor renovation. PRO: Hacking: Quick and Fast Nice Tiling Job!! Tiler beautifully aligned all the decoration of each tile. Next time, I will use Ho Bee for tiling for sure. Patrick and His Wife are patient. I mean they are willing to redo the job if it does not meet your expectation. Electrician were pro. I really liked professionalism of young boy who installed my ceiling fan. But expensive?? Plumbing: OK job CON: Price was same as ID price. But I used Ho Bee because they have been business for few years with decent paid-up capital. Painter was nightmare. I won't ask patrick to paint my future house. Management of Contractor can be improved. Smoking and trashing policy, well communication between Patrick and contractor. Cauz my case, contractor did some jobs based on their assumption and those works ended up to redo. Cleaning: I want to know, do ID usually well cleanup the place before they pass you back the key to you? I wanna know. Ho Bee clean up was very poor. Overall, I do not have comparsion since this was my 1st reno, I feel OK with Ho Bee. I still need to call them back for few minor touch up, and I know Patrick will take care for me.
  11. Hi Worldangel, Thanks for your comment, I agree with your opinion about, "it doesn't leave any permanent damage, just feedback to the workers and let it go". But I still don't feel good about such actions. May be different culture and background about expectation for service quality. I will tell Patrick about the issue and let's see how he respond. Thanks SU
  12. Hi All, I'm using Patrick for my reno. So far he has been prompt and sincere. His contractor quality is good. However, few things I am having frustration, 1. My warranty card for bathtub was floating in the bathtab in the water. Contractor did not bother to take it out before installation? 2. I don't mind contractor smoke while they do their works, but they throw it on the floor after they smoked. 3. Every time I go to my house for inspection, I clean my kitchen cabinet, (Kitchen reno has finished already) everytime I comeback, kitchen cabinet and sink is messed with dirts. (i have maid room sink, why they dont use maid room sink?) anyone who used Hobee had same experience? Best Regards, SU
  13. Hi ponyoblue Can you share your quotation from Patrick? Thanks
  14. Hi Alamak Glad to know another closet design user. I am planning to sign with them since their carpentary job seems to be better quality than others. If you dont mind, which color you chose for your door and inside wood? I think they have 7 colors for inside. Thanks
