  1. hahaha yea i know about the swirvel part so i actually wanted to ask if this is the case... keke so i guessed correctly hahahaha this is so funny!
  2. is it? a lot of complaint from treelodge pple on the toilet leh (my own fren included) i found yours nicer than treelodge one... haha on your kitchen, i think in floor plan they show only one column (a big column though) cannot be hacked but they might have made it bigger (kiasu mah. better to have safety factor). QP is probably there to make sure they don't overhack? really, if you are living in that flat, you'd better make sure that the structure for the building is swee swee for your own safety... besides, if hacking of kitchen wall, sometimes they need to go through Fire Safety Department to assess for approval, so it's more complicated. wah your seller is really nice, actually if i were the seller, i wouldn't let the buyer to come so many times..... hahahaha
  3. wah your buyer is really one kind. they should respect the seller if they turn down the request to do measurement nicely - some pple just like to have more privacy, or sometimes the house is too messy as seller is also in the mist of packing and shifting. agree fully on the inventory list - that's why the inventory list is there, rite? my colleague told me that he did inspection few days before 2nd appointment, and guess what? right after 2nd appointment when they went to the new home, all the built-in wardrobe disappeared.......
  4. so far 90% of the time successful... hahaha~ good enough for me liao~ but must be very discipline to stick to the menu you've planned but yea quite tiring to plan whole week's menus... sometimes just no inspiration man~ and when plans change (e.g. frens asking you out for dinner), suddenly feel very stressed cos dunno what to do with the food hahahaha
  5. why must the painting be the size of 50" TV? are you going to have it on the wall right behind the tv....?
  6. your 2nd appointment not over yet... can submit already? btw, footprint, hi there haven't visited your blog since my last post very early on. must comment one thing: your original HDB toilets look way better than many others that we've seen here on RT. hahaha!
  7. hahahaha... i also try not to buy too many things cos dun like to take up space~ i even planned my entire week's menu at one go so my fridge will be empty by the end of the week (i do marketing once a week) but if buy things in bundle, i won't have the tendency to use up quickly... this time for the kitchen holder is an exceptional case
  8. the white is same as the pink one leh... just that the white one is not fully bloomed yet. anyway, after extensive googling, this is the closest i can find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibiscus_mutabilis Hibiscus mutabilis, also known as the Confederate rose or the cotton rosemallow, is a plant noted for its flowers. ya the funny thing is, all the info i found says they can grow to become a tree. but, but last time, i only grew them in small pots, diameter no bigger than 15cm ones... (i had many pots, though ) one thing in common for the info i found and my experience is that this flower grows SUPER FAST. hahahaha~ maybe other gardening experts can help in this~
  9. haha sure... meanwhile i will keep a look out when i go out... if i see this flower elsewhere i may just pluck some to bring home wahahaha well your friends can always buy pandan leaves from NTUC or market and bring to your place~
  10. froggy, i also wanna find out the name for this "will not die" flower~ googled and find some photos: the flowers and buds look something like this (also come in other colours like white, pink, orange), but the leaves and stems are slightly different.... hmmm that website says this is a type of hibicious, so i supposed the "will not die" also belongs to the hibicious family? maybe i should check if the floral stall auntie downstairs sells this.... i saw these flowers in NUS before... almost plucked some to bring back to grow hahahahaha May, if you see happen to see this kind of flowers at the nursary, maybe you can help to ask what is it? hahahaha thanks first~ btw, how about your plan to take the pandan leaves?
  11. hahahaha... you know, for this reason, i suddenly used the previous roll of kitchen towel very fast... so i can put up the kitchen holder ASAP
  12. i think so too... think prepacked one will be more consistent in taste, but that day i had no time to go to supermarket, so had to buy fresh fruits from market downstairs... hahahaha
  13. this costs $20... it's a little pricey compared to HK but i think the price is good enough for SG hahaha... some more it's just downstairs, so convenient price varies depending on how big, how many blossoms etc~ orchid is quite easy to maintain and can last for long time. i bought it in end Jan, the flowers only started to drop this week (now still have more than half left). my mom said usually the orchid can last from before CNY till mid 2nd month on Chinese calender, that's more than a month the auntie from my downstairs' floral shop said, if we put fertilizer, after all the flowers withered, can just cut the stem of the orchid and new flowers will grow~ not sure if it can work cos my friend said quite difficult to get new flowers to grow... i'm keeping my fingers crossed.... there are some easy-to-grow flowers - there was one that i used to keep back in hostel days - rose look-alike flowers that is super easy to grow and extremely low maintenance, even lazy pple like me can keep it nice and good for years my godmother said it's called 死不了 but to date i still have no idea what is the proper name for this flower would like to keep this again~
  14. why procrasinate? it sounds like a stupid reason but... cos this holder comes with a new roll of kitchen towel, but i haven't finished the previous roll yet, so wait till i used up the previous roll first then i put up this holder... hahahahaha
  15. hahaha it's useful really! we got it from this place: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37426 you can check the hogarmas website in this link and buy direct from them haha no leh that wasn't me.. cos csingeu was really nice to collect for me (as he was driving), so i didn't go to dex place in the end~
  16. Thanks for all your kind words~ BunBun, your green mangoes are the smaller, rounder type is it? cos i tried the oval, longer type green mangoes before and i think the flesh is more on the white side... something like those in Thai salad~ so fun to have your own mango tree~ talking about mango trees, my fren told me that in his company, there are mango trees planted along the fence. one day he saw some policemen at his company gate... guess what, they actually arrested some employees from the neighbouring company for trespassing - they were trying to "steal" mangoes from the trees hahahahaha on the cheesecake surface: after 1 hr when i checked, the centre didn't have the dark spot as you can see in the photos. but at 1 hr 15 mins, the dark spot appears liao~ so i dunno if the dark spot should be there or not
  17. no i mean... 200mm extra is after the clearance for fridge door etc. but after the fridge sits in i feel that space is just right hahaha~
  18. i think #2 is better... but actually i prefer what footprint has posted above... feel that it looks more modern~ and you can easily replace the panels from time to time
  19. there is a thread in hardwarezone forum on this topic, the list is longer....
  20. hee....thanks for your encouragement same logic as putting pears into rice to speed up ripening process?
  21. and, after much procrasination, finally mounted the Leifheit 3-in-1 kitchen roll holder that we got from the group buy. thanks to dexfuto again for the lobang it's really handy... finally my kitchen towel is not rolling all over the place on my work top
  22. got this orchid from the market downstairs just before CNY... love orchids... they are so pretty but, think i need to get a nicer pot for her
  23. okie as promised... review and photos on my 1st attempt on mango cheesecake~ for my hubby's bday~ got the recipe from here. adjusted the amount accordingly cos the original recipe is for a 9-in cake but mine is only 6-in. Blunders: 1) Mangoes not ripe enough. the mangoes looked good when i bought them. the auntie at the fruit stall also said it should be ripe enough for consumption on the next day (i.e. when i m going to make the cake). but... oh well... when i cut opened the first one, so hard.... i told myself, okie fine maybe only this one that is not ripe. then i cut the 2nd one... alamak it's worse than the 1st one... it's hard like an apple and the flesh is not even yellow! oh man! so i gave up and left the rest of the mangoes in open... hoping that they would be slightly more ripe the next day. it did, but not sweet enough still end result: my mango puree was not sweet enough 2) Read recipe wrongly.... after conversion, i was supposed to add 200ml of mango puree into the cream cheese mixture. but somehow my brain registered 100ml so i only added half the mango puree required realised this only when the cake was baking halfway in the oven, when i was thinking "how come i have so much leftover for mango puree??" oh hindsight, maybe it's good that i added less mango cos else the cake would be too sour~ 3) i overbaked... i think... The recipe calls for baking for 1 hr 25 mins. i thought, since my cake is smaller, less time should be needed. around 1 hr, i checked the cake: sides have puffed up nicely but when i shook the cake, i thought the centre moves quite easily... so i thought maybe i should bake a bit longer. around 1 hr 15 mins, i checked again... alas, the centre became "chao dar"~ so i thought, maybe 1 hr would have been enough liao... experts, any comments? anyway, after that, i spread some of the leftover mango puree on cake top and put some mangoes on it. here's the final product after seeing all the nice cakes from BunBun and froggy, i feel paiseh to put this up man... hahaha
  24. same same la. food processor just normally have different attachments so you can change for different usage (blend, mince, whatever). haha actually i always take blender as a subset of food processor~ yup yup let me know if you have time to drop by yea sure can dance ballet there, with the sofa pushed one side of course~ i think the space there is bigger than the ballet studio i trained in last time (well, many years ago liao... )
  25. you know what, i catered extra 200mm width in case i want to upgrade my fridge next time, but in the end, the extra 200mm is just nice for current fridge only becos of the clearance space required....
