  1. Hi Guys, Seems like you all are missing out something... There is another type of door that is rather lasting, provided that you do not have kids that will bang heavily on it when it is closed. Have u heard of Pd Doors? It is a swing and slide door, I had use it for 4yr plus so far so good, only the latch is having a minor problem. You can check out the web site, I find it really excellent design very impress with it 4 yrs ago till now. It last, easily match the kitchen design, classy, no need to worry about space constraint, etc... Web site : http://www.pddoor.com/ If you like to have a direct contact person, you can leave me a message too. Regards
  2. OMG!!! There is a sofa that I like very much when I first saw it at St. Louis. Lucky for me, I didn't bought it there as I felt the price they quote was extremely high (Not logical). I happened to bump onto that item I like very much few days ago and guess what! It is $1000 cheaper!!! OMG!!!
  3. I had use Pd doors for abt 4yrs, still happy with it. For the common toilet, the door latch machanism is having a slight problem, yet to have it fixed. The latch will latch on by itself when the door slide to closed(dangerous if you have little kids at home playing with the door, they may lock themselves inside and unable to unlock by themselves). The web site says that the latch can be replaced easily, I have yet to find out. Haven't contact them yet.... Btw, their web site is www.pddoor.com
  4. Thanks parry14 for sharing, I wanted to go there last Sun but they closed too early, I can't make it in time. Since u recommend, I'll go down to take a look.
  5. Hi ca I have the address of the shop? Thanks a lot...
  6. Hi ck74, Have you got your idea furniture? I am looking for wooden furniture design too. Can share some more of your visit to other shops? I had been to wjhardja on 25th July. Their finishing is not suitable for mordern living rm design. However, if you are going for resort theme it will be suitable and the furniture there are cheap. The workmanship is very rough, think it is meant to be that way. They have wooden type of sofa bed design, didn't notice any decent normal sofa seats. You can walk in freely, there will not be anyone following you ard inside or pestering you. Well recommended if you are looking for resort style living. Wanted to attached some pics, unfortunately, I dun no how to do it... I been to Scanteak too, like the design and the material. May be if yiou are buying there, we can go together then ask for further discount... The other show that has a 2 set of very appealing wooden design is from St Louis at The Furniture Mall. The joints are fantastic too but not sure if it is really teak wood. Looks too good to be teak. The pricing is sky high too... else I'll have bought it. It's tiring running ard looking for the idea furniture. Hope to hear more from you, perhaps can chat up with you to get more info.
  7. Any gd or bad comments on Scanteak? So far haven't read any bad commentas on them. I am thinking of buying a sofa set there, please advise. All their furniture are make of Teak Wood?
  8. I will agreed with you all on the pressurize selling tactics, but we don't know who is behind to support these tactics they used. If you are the Boss of the company, will you employ these people? If you are the Boss, I guess once a while you will get someone to spy on their customer service standards. They have been using these tactics for more than 4 yrs, so who do you think is behind the tatics? Anyway, it works for them, they survive till now. As a comsumer, we have to be firm on our decision too, just walk on to view other items let the salesperson continue to talk if he wants. If you really feel pressurised, leave the place. He may try to stop u from leaving, just ignore him. Well, I guess when we are young we tend to be pressurize by saleperson into buying and they know the weakness of the young too, they are not born yesterday. When we are older they will use other tactics (When they see human, they talk human. When they see ghost, they talk ghostly). We are the Customers, we come as we want and go as we want. They can't stop us, do not be stopped by them. Just to add on a little, so far my experience with the Star Furniture sales people are the Best! They should be the role model of all the furniture shops in Singapore. Hope they will maintain the standard.
  9. I have a contact who does custom make furniture. They are selling funiture too, if you wants the contact pm me. I had not tried their service b4 though but their teakwood furniture in the shop looks great. I think the price is still ok too, u can do some comparison.
  10. I recommend Pd Door too. I had used it for 4yrs plus, not much problems. Only thing is after long usage, like what fanquojun had said, the door will auto lock when you slide the door to close it. I guess the machanism has worn out for the door latch, however, I think Pd door has the spare part for replacement. Other than that, about 2 years, need to apply some grease on the sliding portion so that the sliding motion is smooth again. I had seen a few Bi-fold doors failed b4, so when I reno my hse I choose Pd door. It is design locally and patented. U may like to visit the web site www.pddoor.com
