  1. Here's the breakdown of the renovation!

Glass shower screen & kitchen sliding glass door: $350, $850 respectively

    Hi Duckie,

    Your house looks good.

Care to PM me the Shower screen contact and the Size of shower screen?

I would like to have this done in my bathroom also.

  2. nope, $49.80 is for the blue centre round pc with the two needles. i just sprayed to blue, original was black.

the while board is actually from IKEA as a mirror, sprayed to white.

the flowers and numbers i bought from a shop at plaza sing, paste it on myself. ;)

Wow, cool creative idea. Just happened to see that mirror in IKEA today. it ring the bell in my mind that i saw this shape somewhere recently.

    Now i know.

  3. Wow, Yours looks like a expensive reno.

I think 'VO' is common among contractors.

Even my contractor did charge me separately for the electrical work. But, he gave a 'Heads-up' (on the how much will be the charges for electrical work like wiring, fixing the switches, light points etc.,) well before finalising and signing the contract. So it was not a Shock to me.

The 'VO' added the money for the work i included in later stage. And subtracted the money for the item i removed from the agreed quote. So i ended up paying the difference. To be specific, My contractor supposed to Re-pay me over 3k and he did that dutifully during the handover.

  4. Does anyone knows where to get a big clock (78-100cm) ? I'm looking at getting just the clock hands and the mechanism (something like the Adhesive clock)..

    Hi Cyberonic,

You can find the clock hands, mechanism @ artfriends selling for $50.

Alternatively you can DIY it. I did it as mentioned in this thread. it cost me around $15.

There is a photo of my work also. Feel free to contact me if you need any more info.

  5. I like your DIY clock - How did you do it? Please share. :)

    Hi Luffs -n-lings,

There is another foroumer made the wall clock same as mine. I almost followed the steps given there.

Its under DIY Corner -> Diy Wall Clock here is the link

Should you need any further info feel free to PM me :)

  6. I like the changes you made. you've turned a darker house into such a bright one without changing the flooring much even! nice!

    Hi Pink Peter,

    Thank you for your comments.

I wanted to make the living room with white & Black theme as the flooring is black granite which is in good condition and too good to hack away.

But, the wall colors i made a mistake by selecting 'lily white' instead of pure white. Which would have been even brighter. :(

  7. for the DIY clock, where u bought the motor and the needle? so special, i'm sure u will remember the time u spent putting it together whenever u check the time. :D

    Hi Gals_mama,

The needle (or) hands i made out of balsa wood (bought from 'Art friend').

The Motor (or) Wall clock movement is taken from the old wall clock which was in the house left by previous owner.

Yeah sure i'll remember the time i spent :paint: It gives the sense of satisfaction

  8. 128's floorplan.... the bedroom 1 and master bedroom has alr been hacked and the entrance to the room is at bedroom 1...

WOW your lay-out is 'almost' similar to mine :). Where is this place? Sengkang?

  9. Hi Juronger,

I tried 'my version' of the well clock made by you with some changes.

    1) i used 1/16" thick balsa wood strip for carving my minute and Hour Hands.

    2) Numbers- Bought from 'Art friend' and painted with water based Black acrylic paint.

    3) Using the old 'Wall clock Movement'

My Clock is going slower may be because of heavy weight of the hands or... may be because of the old 'wall clock Movement'

It's working fine today. Even i do not know what made it to work well :paint:

    Here is the photo.

  10. I know its too late a reply.

However here is my 2 cents worth.

There is a DIY wall clock kit in artfriends selling @ $50.

I got inspired by that and did my own wall clock which costed me $15 and 4 Hrs of my time.

    Here is it.

  11. Hi Guys,

Finally managed to put all the pieces together. Lot of Hiccups during the whole project and lot of learnings too.

Throughly enjoyed doing the renovation. Partly thru the contractor, partly co-ordinated by myself and some of the works are done by me and my wife :D

Here are the photos of the wardrobes installed over the week end.

  12. Hi,

I just wanted to share my experience.

I was planning to buy ceiling fans for my master bedroom and my living room.

I was visiting 'Citylights @ Jalan Besar' and found some fans displayed there. One lady named Karen was attending to us and she was very helpful. She showed me different fans and catalog and explained to me in detail. At last i told here that i am not buying on that day itself. She was very professional and never showed her disappointment. Even after that she was answering my quarries with smiling face.

She offered her business card and asked me to look for her if i decide to buy the fan. I visited few other shops and found that the price i got in City lights was very attractive (Which, i got after some bargaining).

The next day i visited the shop and straightaway ordered the fans. The delivery was very prompt and the installation was also done in a professional way.

Model : Elmark '52" Acrylic Blade Ceiling Fan' with 4 Lights (15W each) and Remote control.
