Things just got BIGGER. Finally ended my T.V hunt at the warehouse sales: Eventually I was sold in getting my TV from Havey Norman: Samsung 50" Plasma 3D T.V. w/2 3D Glasses + starter kit Purchased the bundled set of Samsung 3D Blu-ray w/ additional 3D Glasses + HDMI cables. Original retail price of TV $5399 , 3D blue-ray player $799. Purchase price: $2999. I bet I did; Blew $475 on Phillips kitchen and electronic appliance. And I got my 50" 3D TV + bluray player for $2999 from Havey Norman. This is crazy. The price I paid was equivalent of 40" LED. The viewing distance I went to Buy Other Sound Equipment.

Will bear that in mind. wish me luck, else I'd be bathing in "trickle-showers" Hi istel, Well done.. it takes a bit of patience my friend, it's worth the wait. Most impt thing is not to make decision hastely/ irrationally. your reno plan looks sound; My reno sequence goes something like this: 1) demolitation and making good will go first (usually followed by tiling cos same contractors), 2) plastering (before cabling) 3) electrical trunking (cos takes up less space then water pipe-hugg to wall) will usually go first followed by water repiping, A/C trunking and city gas. Make sure those that you wanna concealed (speakers cable/ open-net) is done before you commence on the false partition/ wall/ L-Box (if any) Your contractors will lay those con aka protecting papers (chargable) papers for your tilted living hall etc In the meanwhile, measurements will be taken for windows/ maindoor after plastering. 4) carpentry (kitchen cabinet etc) L-box/false ceiling, installing saintary stuffs, 5) Painting 6) electrical lighting/ switches installation 7) acid wash 8) Laminates 9) pole system wardrobe will post up my scheduling another day; As above bro; suppose to be L-box but my HTS got delayed in shippment, will go ahead with carpentry first Pmed

Wickaninsh, hope i am addressing the correct quiry, you are looking at 2 things; a pole system with a feature that allows both opposite sides to be viewable. Do note that the maximum width for the pole system goes as far as 100cm (from Closet design) hence you are limited to a TV of that size (40"-42"). anything wider is not advisable as the resting shelf may not be able to take the weight. For rotation-wise, you can place a swivel device, like "lazy sussie", Closetrobe allows such customisation.

Is yours a 3-room terrywei? I did explore the possibility of doing this as well; -Sun/ Glare can be resolved with curtains & Blinds- (with that in mind, your windows would likely be closed like manutd1972 mentioned. -resulting in loss of ventilation) -Rain should not be much of an problem, if so, it's the windows issue rather than anything else. If these are still your worries, you can errect a partition away from the window leaving a gap as a foyer. Else, get your ID to give you more alternatives; make him work for his money

haha, well said bro. One consolation I have is afterall it's still 4 ticks (& 2nd fridge in running in terms of energy efficient) and fridge doesn't really consume the same power all the time, assuming that you don't keep opening the fridge door.

Seriously.. this is something which I will find out soon after the water heater is up. Didn't manage to do a water pressure test piror the purchase. Nevertheless, I have not seen a single anyone complain of low pressure after installation as yet. Although I do come across the users expressing their concerns, piror their installation. The Hansgrophe sales person did mentioned to me that the rainshowers would probably not be optimum at low pressure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ironically it didn't hit me to check on the NEA DB piror my fridge purchase. (It was 4 ticks though) Guess, we really love the design and functions of the fridge. And then, i take a step back and thought, "wth, why spent so much time and calculating the Watts saving of LED vs CF, whereas the fridge here already chalk up a good amount of power consumption."

The lourve windows are the original ones from the last HDB upgrades during early 2000s. I haven't scrunitise the lourve frames, but I believe the windows should not be much affected. Just tell your contractor to remind the demolation team to be extra careful.

Led Downlight For Whole House -anyone?
dexufto replied to seashell's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Hi Seashell wish to ask you regrading your type 2 LED; you were saying its a E27 base, as such does it mean that it can screw into any PLC/CF E27 base (like the ikea ones mentioned by soon? no driver necessary? Do you mind PM me the price you purchased including the casing? you did mentioned min purchase is 50? what about amounts less than that? TIA -
The width is dependent on your choice sir, I believe you are asking for the depth? Usually it is 600mm.

A pelmet is a small board usually from top of ceiling, use to hide your curtain rails/ sliding door tophung threads. Do a google and click on the images Sounds like a good deal for your false ceiling. Jaskel: I like your honesty

On the contary I find that Tiler Seng replies to my email very promptly, He didn't reply me in the first email, but after my reminder he got back to me in less than 2 days.. Personally I find his quote very reasonable, if I may speak one of the most detailed. I have no doubt that many of us (I'm one of the guilty) would email to contractors asking for quotes and expect them to reply promptly.. likewise, the contractors can choose to filter off certain prospective clients; just fishing for quotes. Do check out their finished work, that would probably be the best testimony. Ballerina, you seemed to be promoting your contractor aggressively ain't you?

Hello Hello, looks like you are in good progress for taking over Did they reticify your gas-cylinder issue that day too? may I also add; it was very sharp of gimz63251073 whom spotted the screws at the gate-lock, it just look so wrong.

Love your mosaics, Little did i realise that it would chalk up so much money to have this pretty little things on your walls.

The link is here. I've listed the links to the fellow 3-roomers in the 1st post of my T-blog. Take a look for more ideas. btw, just realised that he uses the small basin as well. IMHO, it's very much to your personal habits; you will have to be very deliberate and change your habits if you are a "splasher" like me.

031110- Electrical part1 (trunking) completed. MBR casement window replaced. Waterpiping commenced. Had some decisions to make for my showers water piping: I had in mind not to run the (hot and cold) pipe from the rainshower mixers near the ground. I had almost scalded myself in such an occasion before; however should I run the water pipes up along the rainshowers, it would look cluttered and ugly. After asking my colleagues, i decided to go with my contractor's decision. Run it 5" above ground along the shower windows wall. Second task was fitting in my water storage heater.. a miss-calculation on my part, I've only allocated just enough space for the heater, moreover, the hot/cold outet runs downwards; and would make my already very small entry to W.C even smaller. Decision was to downgrade to a 30L storage heater to a 15L and relocated outside to the kitchen above my washing machine. Works to be carried out the following week 4th Nov: Partition walls work 5th Nov: Closetrobe consultation. 7th Nov: Round 2: Lights shopping@ JB. 8th Nov: Delivery of remaining Saintary stuffs, Aircon installation, City Gas installation, laminates-floor measurements.

Ust saw you updated T-Blog, looks like you are getting the hang of floorplanner Do factor in the wall thickness of your walls, especiall those of thick bold ones. These denote the main pillars non-hackable. There's one irritating pillar at the edge of my bathroom I can nothing to it. Argh! Thanks for visiting; I just visited my site under my contractors request. Some major decisions for my waterpiping. I'm very happy with his services thus far; I forgot to make delivery for my saintary and he made his way to personally to pick it up.. only to find that my selected storage heate was too large and had to return and change another one. Bathroom and W.Cs- A.O.S building materials Have purchased all my saintary stuffs namely; W.C, Grohe Mixers & rainshower, water-heater, basin+cabinet set, mirror cabinet and sliding door shower-screen. One thing I'm thankful is that A.O.S is very accomodating to my needs; Previously I've ordered a mirror cabinet.. and have to change the size not once but twice, and now I've just downgraded my water-heater from 30L t a 15L (my miserable small toilet is unable to accomodate) Think I've been a difficult customer. Excellent after-sales service. Can't wait for the items to be delivered on monday.

The corridor windows are slightly tinted. Intented to add additional solar flim (reflective) for the added privacy from Home-fix. Yes sir, there will be a L-Box with Cove lightings + false ceiling at the hall. In fact, very similar to yours Propose Electical/lighting Plan:

Welcome to renotalk. I echo after neubie, a contractor would probably charge less than an Interior Designer. Nowadays, the term ID is so loosely used, any contractor providing some 3-D with a shopfont could termed as ID. I'm sure you can find loads of useful stuffs here in renotalks. All he best as you embark in your renovation journey. ps; for picture attachment. read the sticky here
