  1. should get karcher. price controlled by Karcher but they now having good sale. same price all over singapore.
  2. yeah , i bought mine from the same shop for $1.3 k mattress only. hope that helps.
  3. After having been to a few expo "sale "fairs , my impression is that they are all a rip off. I didnt have a favourable price comparison when i went to the home design fairs ( i was looking for mattress) and recently the gain city expo fair. Same as buying from their usual stores, if not, more expensive.
  4. try emailing lion city for a quote. its very competitive. anyone any experience though? I zoomed down to either Mega at KLP or Lion city. http://www.lioncityco.com/request-quotation/ they reply very fast too. All prices are nett, incl of delivery and gst.
  5. Dont be too swayed by popular opinion, because mattress is a very personal thing! For me its comfort ( u really cant tell the performance of a long use ( >10 year)item like a mattress in the 10min you spend lying down, but oh well what to do?) - it must feel comfortable after at least 10 min of lying down and cost. honestly, who is to say that a $4k mattress will definitely make me sleep better than a $2k mattress. just sharing my opionions and no offence please. In the end, i opted for Dunlopilo Duchess (New) at trade hub at 1.3k nett for mattress with free 2 pillows and bolster. side note: all these GSS is nonsense. the dunlopilo salesman says this is their special item for this GSS. but if u scroll through the forum, they have been selling this model at 1388 since half a year ago at least! Once u have decided on a brand make sure u check out the different galleries of the respective brands. For example, I was tempted by the Slumberland Tempsmart 1600. With a storage frame at Plaza Sing branch, it was a non negotiable $2498. At the IMM branch, the lady was more amicable and could bring it down to $2300.
  6. I actually never used it. but i have house sat for my friend who used it in his kitchen. I think before you choose cement screed you will have to acknowledge the fact that the texture/final finish is 'live'. Live in the sense that it will age/weather differently depending on the exact composition of the cement and the effects will be different. And there will be imperfections - like non-uniform colouring, cracks. But thats the raw appeal of it. And thats why people like it. I personally like it because it is impactful and probably easy maintenance ( dont remember hearing my friend say need to wipe). Its different if its the floor - u see HDB ground floors? if u leave liquids over it long time, there will be a permanent stain. so it depends on which part of kitchen wall too - likelihood of spills and hence stains? You might want to check with the Contractor abt the stains. So maybe better dont cement screed the area behind the cooker. But i love cement screed and the raw and ever changing appeal - in fact my friend's apartment has a few cracks liao. but it looks so natural.
  7. yeah, thats right. sometimes u have a group of 6 watching TVand thats it. the ones at the side can hardly see a thing.
  8. Hello forummers, just wanted to share this with all forummers - apply for Manhattan card and get 5% cash back. http://www.wowmanhattan.com.sg/ I personally find this wonderful especially for all those big ticket items that we buy with credit cards. For a couple if you each apply the card separately, thats double the amount of savings! Note though, monthly spending must be >3k to qualify for 5% cash back ( its tiered % cash back tied to how much is spent monthly. For lower amounts spent, you get less % back) AND there is a quarterly cap of 300$ per quarter - This means $6k spending in any quarter, but you must spend 3k at least in each month. So time your purchasing properly to maximise the savings! Note, i dont work for SC bank, just found that this is the best deal so far, and since i am getting so much from knoweldge from this forum, its my way of contributing!
  9. Just wondering what are people's experiences - is it cheaper to buy lights on your own, or to go with your ID?
  10. Hello all, Anyone has any feedback on the truth of the salestalk that the salesmen give, about the hard LCD TV panels - that when viewed from the side ( ie wide angle viewing),the picture quality is way better than LED TV and soft LCD TV panels? What are hard and soft LCD panels anyway?I cant seem to find them on google.
  11. Hello everyone, Does anyone have any experience with using metal tiles? I'm thinking of having stainless steel mosaic type tiles as the back wash for the cooker area, compared to the usual staineless steel backing. Does anyone also know any stockists for such tiles?
