  1. For long-term usage, granite or quartz is best. Solid surface, no matter what brand, they are still the same - acrylic or polyester are still the same. For Granite, best is India Granite, choose the better quality like Blue Pearl or Emerald Pearl. I am thinking to do Blue Pearl for my living room flooring, but cost more than marble. I think you could see luster or spark effect if you had spotlight on Blue Pearl, Emerald Pearl & selected Quartz color kitchen top.
  2. Hey All, Currently, I am doing my new 5rm HDB. Pls share your views/comments with me. Will really appreciate all. 1) Kitchen + Service Yard + Both Toilet: Over-Lay new tiles to flooring & install wall tiles on service yard wall. I did not removed original HDB floor tiles in Kitchen/Service Yard/Toilets but my contractor say need to water-proof. Is that true? Any risk of tiles popping out? 2) Kitchen: Due to new kitchen entrance, I decide not go for L-Shaped Kitchen Top. Original, wanted a concrete sink support for chopping purpose, but change to normal postform. I had two separate kitchen top, use Granite for sink top & Quartz for stove top. 3) Flooring: Bedroom = Parquet Living/Dining = Still not decide what to use. Original, wanted to use Granite but contractor mention that China Granite is of poor quality nowadays. And India Granite (such as Black Galaxy) cost more than marble. Also, mention that the cost to install Granite is higher than Marble, are these true? Does re-polish of Marble in Living/Dining area cost less than $600? 4) Anyone does Black Color Granite & Parquet before? Are these easy to maintain? Thanks.
  3. Bros, Like you, I am having this problem as well. But realize that I could not had the best of both world. Highly-Polished Tile = Easy to clean, non-stain, but slippery. Rough surface tile = Dirt & stain will trapped, not easy to clean but more resistance to slip I choose a black color rough homo tiles.
  4. Granite & Quartz should be good. Just trying out, I use granite for my sink top & quartz for stove top. Stone Italiana is quartz mainly.
