Thanks for the advise! I was just thinking about doing it hence need to hear some opinions. I understand that HDB issues the permit but was just curious if anyone has tried and actually succeeded in applying the permit? The additional space would really come in handy!

Thanks for the reply...I understand there are people whom actually did this according to a contractor. Hence wanted to clarify if this was a "by right cannot by left can" issue.

Has anyone tried applying to cover up void area at the staircase? I'm thinking of extending my study room just above the area and have no idea if i could do that.

Have you managed to find your mysterious baos yet? Clementi has only 1 decent Dim Sum place over at the block where Botak Jones is. If i remember correctly,it has a red signboard and is in between 2 coffee shops at the block. If your Char Siew Bao isn't from there,I would really love to know where else!

I believe boxing up of pipes in toilet quite troublesome,I've seen cases of leakage end up have to tear open entire thing to rectify problem?
