While at IMM today, saw Giant is having electronic fairs. One uncle from opposite shop came over and chit-chat with me and recommended a Samsung CD sound system, 850W, selling at $99 only (usual price $149). He took out a CD and tested the sound system and he highly recommended this Samsung player. As that was also the last set, I decided to buy it. After paying up, my fickle minded decided to change to Philips HTS, going for $299, usual price $499. Sound-wise not as good as Samsung CD player, but it has DVD, tuner, CD, can also play songs from i-pod, etc, with more functions than Samsung CD player. Comes with free delivery.....so, instead of procastinating whether to buy the blueray soundbar at $1400- $1600, better get something cheap now. ...no regret as I have already lived for the past months without Music!!

Pandan Gardens residents rejected the Main Upgrading Programmes (MUP) in 2003, and I am one of them!! Although the MSCP is ony 1.5 storey above ground, but we still don't like the idea of converting open carpark into MSCP!! Sis Marshy came to my estate before.....and there is no need to build MSCP as there are ample car park lots in the open carparks.

My old wardrobe with swing doors I have the cheaper door hanger for my accessories and really very heavy wo Now, my accessories are kept like junks in a container when I packed up for renovation. All bead chains, bangles are all entangled and I gave up wearing them! For the LPG cylinders, I also dare to use them...scare of my face becomes this
-
Bro, No problem, when your house is ready, my turn to bring cheesecake because sis Marshy is not baking any more cakes

A simple accessories also have lesson learnt! LOL Bought this design for one of the 2 door hangers at HWS: ...but too chuncky and door cannot close! Then I went back HWS to exchange to this design: OMG.....new problem the 'cling cling clong clong' when I close the door because the metal plate is too thick and the hook is the broad type resting on the edge of door....and you can see the hanger is 'lifted' & pushed forward when door is closed. The other design for my son's bedroom is okie.... So, I went back to HWS to exchange to the same design for MBR.....slim and have hooks which can bend to fit snugly Aiyah.....spent 3 trips to HWS just to get the right fit of door hangers!! Lesson Learnt: Don't think thick metal is better....better buy the 'softer' metal which can bend a little to sit snugly on top of door.

Talking about my eldest son, I was impressed by their Company's organisational culture when my son's boss invited me over to their office grand opening ceremony earlier this year. I guess this is the reason why my son is willing to work so hard and 'slogged' so many hours to build up his own team. The 8 Steps to Great Works Ethics....Watch closely what is mentioned in Steps 3 & 5......which is absolutely absent in my current workplace sighzz the 5-Steps to a SALE....

No grilles is really shiok!! My mum came and asked "Ah, you don't have grilles meh? Thief climbed in how?" My son said if thief can climb up to our unit, they can't find anything valuable...TV is too heavy, cannot steal and climb down the same way; then climb all the way up to our unit for our old mobile phones? Not worth it lor! Unless you have toddlers / young children at home, then better be safe to install grilles.

My side is also raining now....really sian at this hour because going to -
LOL...actually, I was eyeing for this wrought iron 'garden set' which I saw at IMM last month. After thinking and thinking, I find it does not match with the White Powder Coated Windows, and quite pricey ~$600+, and not worth it because this set will be hidden at the back of the low wall (sink). Further, it is wrought iron and will rust easily as I seldom close that 3 panels of windows even if it rains! So, I gave up the idea and instead bought that white round table and chairs from IKEA.

I have to sing praises to my hardworking & reliable ID again! Someone in this forum mentioned about 1-2mm uneveness floor tiles which is 'industrial' standard and home owners have to accept. But, my ID is willing to go extra miles to meet my high demand on workmanship & quality. When I tell him about the uneven tiles, he gets White Horse to send 4 pieces of homogenious floor tiles as replacement, without reasoning with me to accept them as most IDs and contractors will refuse to oblige!

Can try asking your contractor to stop work temporary during your exam period so that you do not worry about renovation during exam time?

While surfing this forum sometimes ago, saw someone post this website for cheap floor rugs (the China ones). http://luxebd.blogspot.com/# Then, I saw some Chinese names not fully masked out and decided to do a search and found this site, with exactly the same contents: http://store.taobao.com/shop/view_shop.htm...er_id=234537473 See the price difference for the China rugs?

I seldom take lunch...as most lunch time is spent running errands at Jurong East or IMM shopping and ta-pau for my son. You may be surprised to find me ta-pau Japanese food from IMM and then took a taxi home just for my son!! Remember my 2-month long reno period? I went home daily, ta-pau for workers but no lunch for me at all! Today is no exception! My 3 items meal is only $44.30 ($8.00 + $22.50 + $13.80) today ....forgot to mention take-away for son (another $12.80 + $8.00)!!! When the waiter said 'combined', I thought my meal + takeaway combined! I saw the bill has 2 portions of Onion rings, one normal coffee, one salad, one sandwich, etc, which apparently Not my order! That's why I walked back to clarify the bills. Can can, you can come & join me, but not TCC again! Can go IMM to try Bali Thai, or any of Japanese restaurants.

Little incident during my lunch time today.... The weather was very hot and while walking towards German Center, saw the TCC cafe was not crowded and decided to find a cosy corner to enjoy a sumptious meal alone. Have already placed my order for these: a. Soup - corn and mushroom soup b. Main course - Salmon c. Drink - Blue mountain coffee Out of sudden, lift my head and saw my boss with 2 senior colleagues who were about to sit down at the next table! Grhhhhhh! I can't even have a peaceful time to enjoy my meal!! I was telling to myself WTF!!!! My boss saw me and asked if I wanted to join them, I said NO as I preferred to sit alone & quietly. My boss 'knew' what I meant, so they moved and sat at far end, far away from me. When I finished and asked for my bill, the waiter said something like 'combine' but I was not listening to what this foreign waiter was explaining and just said 'yes please'..... Bill came...total $138++, and I paid without checking further. While walking back to my office, I took out the bill and astonished to find dishes which were not ordered by me! I walked back, and again, the waiter didn't explain properly, insisted that I agreed to 'combine' the bills. Blur, I only realised what they meant when they point their fingers to my boss who was about to leave the cafe with 2 colleagues. Sighzzz.....my boss walked over and get the waiter to cancel my bill, he paid for the total $138+!! You know what? Out of the $138 meal today, my portion is almost 50% of the total bill! Paiseh.....
