  1. I bought the Lucia brand WC from Excel Asia. An Italian brand but probably made in China! Don't buy those WC with cover plate which closes down slowly & automatically type. Your tenant may not have the patience to wait for the cover plate to close down slowly. They might push the cover violently & spoilt the closing mechanism.
  2. For me, after spending a bomb on renovation, I prefer to go for quality fabric & good workmanship. After visited a few recommendations here, I eventually selected the curtain maker 'Unique Zone', with showroom located at Balestier Plaza, after satisfying myself with the fabric selection, especially the day curtains for MBR. I understand some ID house also recommended them to house owners. In a small shop at Balestier Plaza, they carried good range of quality curtain materials & wallpapers. You can visit my reno blog for the pictures of curtains in my house. If I have time, I will re-post the pictures here.
  3. that is related to body parts. For people, the person in the family affected by poison arrows in south sector will be the middle age woman or middle daughter.
  4. Upto now, my ID has not come to close out the project, and haven't collect from me the balance of payment which includes the VO items. Anyway, I am holding back the final payment till I have time to inspect inch by inch again! I hope this is home owner's practice! What do you think? Am I unreasonable?
  5. ...continued from above post: Lift B is now upgrading in progress, and will be ready in August 2011. With the new Extreme Makeover plan & the new lift opening, I concurred & can connect with what this FSM advised & took his audit report seriously....and therefore come up with this Extreme MakeOver @ Pandan Gardens!!
  6. Taking the facing direction of HDB flats is always a controversial issue. Different Masters have different opinions; some based on the facade which has more Yang energy, whilst some based on which side the building was built to face, while some others will take facing from the lift lobby as Qi mouth. Then, there are some masters who will take house door entrance as facing direction to plot the house natal chart. My block is a point block, and you know most HDB flats, especially newer blocks, have almost identical facing / facade. All the while, as I studied under Master JY, I used the side of building facing the carpark & temple which has more Yang energy as house facing. This is also in consideration that the sitting of our unit is in the kitchen, more Yin, compared to the original Living room which faces the carpark & temple which is more Yang. Now, following the new opening of Lift B, and the fact that we are changing completely the Living room, and also the important fact which the Master considered, is that the floor plan of our unit is shaped like 'arm chair' formation when you see from the main entrance. This is supported by the true fact that there is mountain in NE direction, the back of our unit, and the reservoir in front of our Main door direction. the FSM asked to hang a huge Luo Pan, 2 feet x 2 feet, ordered since September 2010, and should arrive any moment now, to hang in the central of our house, after he made some 'adjustments'. ' Here are some slides abstracted from my final FS class assignment which tells more about the old facing based on living room faces the Yang energy....as well as the surroundings which conform to what the current FSM advised me to revamp our house.
  7. Just to keep this thread alive, here are some photographs of our kitchen cabinets & pole systems wardrobe with polygon interior boards: Kitchen cabinet - grey colour interior polygon with blum runners... Pole Systems Wardrobe interior - white polygon board...
  8. Extreme Makeover Series - Before & After photographs The revamped LivingRoom - a contrast of old setting in terms of colour scheme due to change of house facing direction. Before the extreme makeover, our house is facing North and Sitting South, hence I adopt Fire tone for the wall...and now, our house is Sitting North (water), per advice of FSM. That's why I called my blog Extreme Makeover! This is taken into the consideration that the new lift is opening right in front of our Main Door, among other criteria (our floor plan as well)! The area where wall is painted RED previously, is now a Bedroom for my elder son. The divider is now replaced by concrete wall with glass block.....update in next post! Stay tuned!
  9. My sons are 'old' but not their mummy...because I stay happy and live happily Haha..someone is curious to 'see' me (PM message)...well, I am ME and nothing to hide as I have good network of classmates. You can click my nick & 'see' my photographs taken during recent Lilian Too's talk, under "About Me" page.
  10. It must be at least 10 feet away from the centre of your Main Door. If the tree can be viewed from main door, but at the side and not directly in the middle of door width, then it is not a real problem, but ofcourse still no good to have huge tree blocking in front of house.
  11. It is definitely no good to face huge trees in front of main door...could be legal issues, illnesses and accident. As to repercussions, it depends on what sector is affected. In South, then heart / eyes related problem or even stroke.
  12. I am one of his students and he conducted courses in Singapore too. Nowadays, he teaches only higher modules and concentrates on books writing (recent release is the BaZi - 10 Gods). He has a big group of Senior Consultants who provides BaZi consultation & house feng shui audit. Ofcourse, you can insist to ask JY to audit personally...and definitely very expensive.
  13. Another Office Building with Feng Shui'd done.... (abstracted from our Class Assignment) This building is along Bukit Timah Road. The original Main Entrance falls on Yin-Yang Border which is deemed inauspicious. Subsequently, the owner opens new entrance to the building.... Brief History of this Building: • Ferrari showroom was there • Business wasn’t that good and subsequently Ferrari moved out. • Alfa Romeo came in and bought the place and named it ‘Alfa Centre’. • Alfa Romeo’s showroom was then at the 1st level. • Business was not good for A.R, eventually A.R also closed down the showroom. • To date, Alfa Romeo does not have a proper showroom. • Sim Siang Choon, a sanitary equipment supplier is currently residing there. They have been there for quite a while. WHY???? My Group did a CSI Feng Shui Audit and found out this....
  14. Here are more photos of the completed cabinets... Yes...the floor tiles are nice & non-slippery..
  15. How I wish I have a daughter like you!~ May be I am not qualified yet if you look at my photo (PM you later). Going out with my sons makes me feel so awkard because people thought I am dating young man!
  16. My carpenter got them directly for installation. I paid $1k+ for both rows of cabinets including the soft closings hinges. Czn visit my reno t-blog where I have posted the completed kitchen cabinets.
  17. Hi, neubie You have good technical knowledge on these receptacles. I asked the electrician to source these 2-pins friendly sockets but he ended up buying this kind of multi-facet sockets from 'Choo Jiang' where he frequents, and he did not know that these are not approved for local usage. I understand from my friend that there is one brand called "NCE" with 2-pins socket tested by PSB, although not approved for local distribution.
  18. Huh? My sons? My eldest son was busy preparing for his rally in Bangkok where he was there for one whole week of management meetings (financial marketing industries), second son was busy preparing for his exams (naval architecture) and youngest son was busy with his new found love - music & guitars. None of them helped me at all...except to unpack their own barang barang after we moved in. The only person whom I relied upon is my hardworking ID....and renotalk friends here.
  19. I was there and left in a hurry and didn't take out my iphone to take the measurements. The high stool is made of teak or rosewood, quite sturdy legs, but I almost 'smashed' the stone lion outside the main entrance with my handbag when I turned around at the entrance.
  20. Hi, Sharing here is picture of a modern office along Beach Road, with Feng Shui audit by a Taiwanese FSM. Notice the tilted Main Entrance, the 2 statues and the fish tank? This office opens for business today....an auspicious date / time picked by the Taiwanese sifu. To keep this thread alive, you may contribute any interesting photos you came across.
  21. Sadly, ME too! I am making up for the time-off I took this morning to go home, open door for the electrician to change the non-approved electric sockets, and thereafter went to attend my son's Company grand opening ceremony. A few hours of absence from office and it creates a huge piles of paper works! By the way, read from your t-blog that, like me, you are also alone handling your renovation. I believe with all the supporters in thsi forum, we can make it! I have made it to achieve this beautiful home today and my children are happy with our Home Extreme Makeover! Of course, I have my ID who is backing me up during the whole renovation process. I am sure you can achieve the same too! Jia You!
  22. Valentine's Day is not just for Lovers. It is also for Friends who love each other and care better than Lovers. Wishing all my friends here "Happy Valentine's Day".
