  1. My old vacuum cleaner had broken down. Didn't find the previous vacuum cleaner that good. Is there any brand and model of vacuum cleaners which is good? Would appreciate it very much if fellow forumers could share their experiences and recommendations. Tks.
  2. Tks for the suggestion. I managed to get a high back mesh chair which was within my budget after viewing several websites including those suggested and visiting a few showrooms.
  3. I am thinking of getting a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to replace my old ordinary vacuum cleaner. Want to get feedback from fellow forumers who are using such vacuum cleaners. Is it worth getting these vacuum cleaners which seem to be able to mop and vacuum clean at the same time? If yes, can suggest a good brand and model? Tks.
  4. Where can I find a wide range of reasonably priced swivel chairs? What are the things I should look out for when buying a swivel chair? Is there a certain brand which is good? I want a chair that supports the back well and has a comfortable seat. I have seen swivel chairs with meshed backs. Does the mesh trap dirt easily? If yes, is it easy to maintain? I don't need one with an arm rest.
  5. I am thinking of getting such a table but with a glass top and metal stand. Does anyone know of any shop selling such a side table?
  6. Hi fellow forumers, Thought of getting a bed table similar to the one shown in this link My link. Where can I get one in Singapore and what is the price? Is there one with a better design? Any feedback from a forumer here who has used one? Tks in advance.
  7. Yes, I think customised made furniture is more expensive. I got my contractor to customise a study table for me so as to match my wardrobe and also to maximise the space at the corner of my bedroom. Think those mass produced type of study table is cheaper.
  8. Tks for the suggestion. Bought a Sony 40NX710 as it is within my budget and the price had dropped considerably. Didn't mind that it is a phasing out model.
  9. Finally bought a single sized wooden bed frame and a mattress which is bought separately. Felt that sofa beds generally don't give very good support.
  10. Finally bought a four-star brand mattress (otho genesis) at robinson after several months of trying different brands and models at different stores. Heard from four-star HQ that this model can only be found at robinson. Decided to buy it bcos the price quoted is GSS price. Price includes a pillow, a bolster and a mattress protector. Glad that I did not buy a sofa bed which I had originally thought because all sofa beds which I had tried, do not give very good support.
  11. I intend to get a single-sized mattress. Have shortlisted a four-star brand mattress (otho genesis model) and a dorma single-sized mattress (cannot remember the model). Need feedback from fellow forumers on these two brands. Which of these two brands would you get and why? Also any suggestions of shops that sell these brands at a reasonable price. Budget is $800. Tks in advance.
  12. I intend to buy a new LED TV for my new 4-room flat. The viewing distance is 2.35m (7.7ft). Based on the recommendation from website links, I know that that the suggested TV screen size is from 42in to 46in. I want to find out from fellow forumers here whether anyone has bought a 46-47 inch LED TV for such a viewing distance. If yes, I would like to know whether the SD picture from free to air channels is sharp for viewing for such a distance. It is hard to gauge at the electronic stores as all display sets there show HD images which are very sharp. I am contemplating to get a 40 or 42 inch TV but might get a 46 inch TV if the SD picture is sharp enough for the viewing distance mentioned. I do know that SD images on a plasma tv is no problem. There are people who even have 50 inch plasma tv for a shorter tv viewing distance. Tks in advance.
  13. I am considering of either getting a normal single sized wooden frame bed or a single sofa bed (to save space) for my room. Just want to check with fellow forumers about their feedback on sofa bed. Is it durable? Is it comfortable to sleep on? Besides Ikea, where else can I get sofa bed preferably with a wooden frame or a metal frame? If possible, what is the estimated price of such a bed? Of course, most important is that it must be comfortable to sleep on. No point saving space at the expense of comfort. Tks.
  14. Tks ashomech for the link. I went to Ten Mile Junction yesterday. Found out that many shops have moved out. Went to Sungei Kadut later and finally bought one round extendable glass table from Casa Italy.
  15. Due to space constraints in my home, I intend to buy an extendable round table for the dining room. It should be big enough for 4-6 people. Need suggestions from fellow forumers as to where to get such tables. I know Ikea has two such models. Besides this store, where else can I get such tables? Tks in advance.
