  1. we actually stay very close to our new place.. but the problem is finding time to keep going down to inspect on top of normal daily routine.. we are trying our best to keep ourselves updated with the progress.. we are still keeping fingers crossed that the major works will be completed soon.. on some days, things look like they are on track... on some days, things look like they are delayed..!
  2. umm.. my hubs told me actually ur hubs and my hubs are fellow geeks at work! my "wooden" flooring is actually tiles. so that's an option for you. they do come in darker colours too.. but i wanted light light light! cabinet laminates so far seem to last under my hands.. so i've got no issues abt it. i have no intentions of covering all the cupboards with white laminates actually.. so stay tune for more updates! LOL!
  3. I think it's 700+ for queen and 800+ for king and an additional 20-25% for super king
  4. If I am not mistaken, two pieces. Otherwise cannot fit into lifts or go up the stairs.
  5. Congrats! Should be Gen 2/3 EM right? Do share your Reno progress...
  6. taichipanda recommend ceasarstone fresh white series. He kindly allowed me to view his kitchen. However, i decided to go with the whitest of that series which cost a little more. (explains my seriously over budget white kitchen).
  7. Lol! I decided against installing Blum *anything* because I am super over budget for the kitchen. But I definitely went for the quartz counter top because of its properties and "whiteness".
  8. Kekekekeke. Thank you! Looking forward to it. My kids like to sleep with us on the bed... So super king should be adequate for us all!
  9. yay to spending on kitchen! i've got a lot of powerpoints in the house too.. solely the no. of them in mbr is scary enough. my mum is actually interested in the Eubiq system.. but it's still not widely popular now right?
  10. Realized I've not been updating much on the shopping portion.. Few weeks ago, we took advantage of Serta's GSS and bought our mattress inclusive of the divan. I would honestly prefer to do w/o the divan but we figured out its something we could easily replace in years to come and use the budget for a bed frame for other stuff.. So we gotten the Serta's New Sophistication in Super King. WHY!? coz someone say he is too tall.. wants longer length! Good thing the freebies include bedsheets and mattress protectors. Otherwise.... 8|
  11. this one looks like you can easily bang and bruise yourself... which mattress are you buying?
  12. Top - 180cm for $450 Bottom - 200cm for $450 There is a PDF file on their site regarding the items on sale.
  13. too much wood in the house.. the metal support/legs can be spray painted over time... =X *points to hubs*
  14. sale sale sale~ best time to buy furniture. we went to Originals last weekend and decided to buy a 2m long bench as extra seating.. so which did we get? top or bottom? ans: bottom It is very worth it.. As they are made out of teak wood and were going for 40-50% off. Downside is.. its a warehouse clearance sale. Delivery time in 2 weeks. Originals is at 896 Dunearn Road, #02-03, Sime Darby Centre, Singapore 589472 Take the lift next to TOTTS, at the front of The Sime Darby Centre. Go to the second floor.
  15. Congrats on moving in! Hopefully can see more pics soon!
  16. how old are your girls? my eldest seem to be outgrowing the ikea bed size.. so i wasn't keen on getting her another ikea bed.
  17. do update your progress more! you're not planning to do any staircase railing?
  18. Progress so far... Partition guy did a great work with the false ceilings and cove lighting. Seems like money well spent even thou it pushed us way off budget. RAWRS! Plastering... We are in love. I can't begin to describe how smooooooooth the walls feel after plastering.. It's as smooth as a baby's butt! And the wall corners are reinforced with this wire thing.. But the plastering and partition/false ceiling/box-up was something we didn't factor into our budget.. So we definitely hit the point where we are 10% over budget or more for the renovations now. Aircon trunking is up.. BUT THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB. We made the contractor to call the subcon back to do rectification works for today.. *sigh* Hopefully they will actually turn up and not put aeroplane. Tiling work is... still ongoing. Some minor rectification to my MBR toilet, requested to do U channels for 2 x 18 inch fixed glass panels instead of a full glass shower area. It's nice to know that the permit for the roofing at balcony area is finally approved and will be going up soon. The dining/utility homo tiles are up.. I am still quite on the fence about the homo tiles we chose. Some consensus said it looks like original HDB tiles. The tiler and electrician on the other hand say its really good tiles and they are getting more expensive.. Either way it doesn't comfort me.. But after putting in the living/dining furniture, I am guessing that we will see less of the tiles, which will make it much more bearable. (I THINK!)
  19. thanks~~~~ that's one tile choice I don't regret.. XD
  20. Finally got pics!!!! Looks like your reno is ending..
  21. I don't consider myself a modernist.. So this old fashion style kitchen sink area is a part of the house that I really love! :dribble: :dribble:
