Some update today. Water pipe is up, but can see is a F**K up workmanship. Existing water pipe shifted up as request by me, but the electrician go lay the base of electric conduit directly behind the water pipe. This will cause short circuit if there is a leak. Informed the ID to shift the power point location. Electric conduit was lay before the water pipe and now it look so ugly and water is so close to the electric conduit. Sure won't pass PUB test. This is the worse thing i see, water pipe for my rain shower is bended i don't think any water can pass through. Feed back to the ID and get him to replace all the bending parts with elbow joint. Copper piping was replace back when they so call spolit it during hacking when i instruct them to keep the existing copper pipe. Another view of the piping.

For me is if i'm going to do false ceiling it will burst my budget also, but luckily i like exposed trunking for easier access. So in the end $$$ restrict what we want to do.

Hi Alv, I'm using LC40LE820X which came with digital tuner and i did not use it as i watch my SD/HD channel via starhub box. I really like the image project on the screen as the screen is gloss surface which my friend also like it, but the con is you cannot face windows or the reflection will cause you unable to watch the TV clearly. Any other function i did not bother to try out as i use it to watch cable TV programme and movies which i connect my pc to it. Also be warn that the sharp panel only come in 1 year warranty and the rest of the parts 3 years warranty which i find is totally BS.

The whole week nothing is done except Saturday the electrician came over to lay the base of the conduit. ID are suppose to rectify the issue that i email to him during this whole week, but excuse are he got manpower issue due to Hari Raya and his Malaysia tilers are on leave. I have told him i will delay the 3rd payment until i'm satified with his rectification work.

Yup. Most likely to take leave on that day as i need to pay them deposit also and the reminding money when the in/outdoor unit is up.

I like expose truking so next time i want to troubleshoot/add anything it's easier for me.

Tiles at the kitchen window not align properly. Very obvious when look it. Request the ID to shift the water pipe higher. Last but not least...Rubbish around the house. Request the ID to rectify the issue after review with him on PE day. Have sent him a email with the issue and request to follow up.

Plastering of the house is done except there are some flaw on the wall which i have suggest the ID to sand it off before they start painting on it. Wall in living room. Air Con frame need to be replace by HDB.

It's been a long time since i have provide update. Here are some photo of my house status and issue. Windows have been up and the side of the wall show that it's not straight. ID say if we tried to straighten it with cement it will crack when i put the windows grill. Say will patch it after the windows grill is up. Toilet windows, still waiting for installation of exhaust fan. Picture of the toilet area. Fully done but still having issue with the wall tiles. Picture of the issue area. The tiles between 1 of the wall is not flush and the entrance tiles also not flush properly.

So far my parent spent $378.85 to replace the parts and this fan motor going to cost us more. If it really going to spend 1k to replace it, i think better to replace everything more worth it.

Wah...I'm going to install ME starmex for my new house, but your story really scare me. Now i just wondering which brand of aircon is giving the less issue. We use Carrier and MHI and so far MHI given us the least problem until now. 1 of my relative using Daikin also complain issue with Daikin. So now at a loss of what to chose. How is Panansonic aircon, anyone got experience with it?

Hi Ben263, thanks for your advice. Tomorrow will be meeting the ID at my new house to talk about the status and defect of the workmanship.

Latest update. The technician came down on Tuesday to replace the PCB that is causing the issue and later discover the PCB for the power also spoilt, so they came down on Wednesday to replace it. All of it cost my parent $378.85 and less then 24hours the system came back again. Now after troubleshooting they say the fan motor is spoilt. Currently they do not have a stock for it and guess what. Need to pay money for it. I told them that how come everything have to pay money when my compressor have warranty and they told me that the whole unit outside is call condenser not compressor. From my knowledge everyone outside is calling the unit compressor i did not know it's was call condenser. Anyone want to advise?

Hi All, i'm 1st time renovation my house so i like to check with all the people in RT who have done plastering before. Today i went to my new house and saw that the MBR and the common room plastering is done, but when i use my hand to feel the surface some area is smooth and some area is rough. The worker who is doing the plastering saying this is alright because later stage at painting the painter will sand off the rough area. Is this true? Also the area some are smooth and some are rough are acceptable? Please advise me so i can tell my ID off because he said i'm expecting those Grade 1 plastering that is smooth enough for projector to be project on which i think should be the idea of plastering right? Thanks in Advance.

Hi Dare, my parent's house aircon also from MHI and last saturday the aircon stop blowing cold air in the afternoon after a trip out for shopping which was fine in the morning. The error show indicate in the user manual is that there is signal error which is either issue with the electric cable from the compressor or in/outdoor unit board issue. Guess this mean the PCB is spolit which is the worst case. Call Wo Kee Hong yesterday to send technician down to check and they have told me the same BS that we need to pay for the $80(haven't include GST)transport fee and the PCB is not part of the compressor which i remind them we still have warranty for the compressor. I just rebuke them say ok in any meaning you want the customer to pay $80 before willing to come down to see if the compressor really spolit. Guess i will never recommend anyone getting the MHI, luckily i decided to try out Mitsubishi Electric starmex this round for my new house. Hope it won't give me the same issue my parent face using this MHI.

Yes, I know about this as my parent home MBR toilet redo due to water leakage at the below neighbour MBR toilet. Each have to pay half of the cost after HDB subsidy which come to $200plus. Cannot imaging the cost and problem if the whole kitchen and toilet have to redo in the future.

HDB officer just call me that my below neighbor complain that her unit ceiling is leaking water during the reno. Now the leakage have stop since ID have completed the kitchen flooring so they need to scape off the paint that is stain by the leakage and paint a new coat over it.
