  1. I think it will become your responsibility. Not possible to get the contractor to be responsible if let's say 5 years down the road something happens? I'm not sure if it should be bolted down. Mine should be installing tomorrow, let me check out with them as well
  2. Living hall L-box According to ID, will fix up light on wed and painting will start as well.
  3. Some updates for the day . It's Monday ( 15th Aug ) , which is the beginning of 3rd week of reno. Headed down to unit at about 3pm and False Ceiling for MBR, walk-in wardrobe is done. Brackets for living hall is also up already, so expect to see it done by end of the day ba ! MBR false ceiling ( only doing the centre portion which will run down and connects with the Featured wall. Walk-in-wardrobe. False ceiling done as well. Will be having a pocket sliding door here.
  4. Thanks Potatoes ! Would try to update as often as I can !
  5. Thanks Yea, have to rush to get all in order. But just received some calls and apparently carpentry might take awhile. I wouldn't want to rush them since workmanship for carpentry is very important ! Yea, 6xx series. Convenient !
  6. Let me do a little search on the modified floorplan They actually gave me some time ago, but never really took note of it... For the MBR toilet, do take note of the approval. I did check with HDB and my contractor actually told me that at most can extend out 1 feet. Doesn't seems very cost efficient to me. Spending a few more K to extend 1 feet out. I will be shifting in on 29th Aug, so everything has to be done FAST !!! For the tiling, actually I'm quite impressed with their workmanship. I though that I myself have to check tile by tile, but when I am there to pay a visit, I saw the workers are actually checking tile by tile before laying the protective sheet on them.
  7. As of Saturday (13th Aug 2011) 2 weeks from start of renovation, things already completed : - whole house plastering - Walk-in wardrobe extension - Floor tiling - wall tiling - both toilets - Kitchen base for cabinet, fridge - Wiring - Water pipe Understood from contractor that this coming week, by friday, all will be done, excluding the carpentry. All measurements have been taken already so 1 more week for carpentry ! Current state of unit
  8. Photos taken on Friday (12th Aug) Wiring is being done. Contractor actually met up with me to discuss the electrical points and switches. Also decided on Aircon positions, lamination colours, paint colours , etc.
  9. Once the Leveling of the kitchen is done, the kitchen floor tilings are done as well. The pace that they are doing , is rather amazing. cabinet base and fridge base are done as well. Protective sheets are laid to protect the flooring.
  10. A temporary Door is also installed by them and locked with a number pad. Living hall tiles are laid as well
  11. Walls which is not tiled is also prepared. I am actually only tiling up the section up to the fridge. The rest will be painted. Flooring is laid with foam board, waiting for leveling to be done.
  12. Common Toilet done with a lighter color tone Partial wall tiles are done as well ! WHITE is the theme for the kitchen !
  13. Floorplan I will scan it up when back in my office, but I guess the floorplan is pretty much the same, just that I extended the hall into the kitchen (commonly done). I have also the intention to extend the master bedroom toilet outwards, (i.e. the vanity area out of the toilet) , but was told by contractor that there might be problem getting approval and it will take some time. Hence, idea was abolished. For storeroom, have the same issues with you. But since my common room is usually empty, guess I will just throw junk items in there. But, seriously without a storeroom, I guess the tendency of us keeping unwanted stuffs will be lower. ( when i open my storeroom now, it is really like a junkyard ) Total cost of reno is in the region between 35 to 40k. This includes re-wiring and includes a system 3 aircon. I choose to let them handle everything, so ask them to just buy the AC for me as well.
  14. Steps outside the door is done as well. Have requested to do it in this type of material. Masterbedroom's toilet flooring and wall tiles done as well. Decided to go on the "darker" feeling for master-bedroom. Whole room will be on darker tone.
