  1. Collection of images of carpentry for our dining area and kitchen. By pirvan19 at 2012-09-18 By pirvan19 at 2012-09-18 By pirvan19 at 2012-09-18 By pirvan19 at 2012-09-18
  2. Good day people! We've been totally negligent in updating this tblog! We've moved in for about 2-3 months and its been hectic just settling down and having people over for housewarming. I'll just let the pictures do all the talking and come up with a proper review of our ID on the last post. 3. COLGATE? muahahahaha not bad! Dual function. Kills ants and keeps groutlines white
  4. Wow Kirin, nice idea book you have going. Heres wishing you would be able to achieve all if not most of what you want. Working with a tight budget is indeed tough, but the sense of satisfaction you get at the end of the day is priceless. Mind sharing with me where you got the Simple Human Waste Bin and how much you paid for it? Cheers!
  5. Hi Aya, actually, if your expectations are not too high, digi locks can be gotten as cheaply as $390ish. Interlock (Desmond) was sourced from this forum and his services comes highly recommended. Gateman F10 costs about 380-390 and bolts straight onto most HDB doors. We choose the Samsung 6020 as the current lockset+handle on our main door was due for replacement and that would cost us another 100-150 anyway and as the samsung lock comes with handle, thought we might as well go for a cleaner look. 6020 cost us $589 including installation. Choco84 instructed the installer not to activate the lock yet and kept it wrapped up (on the door of cos) at least till the flat is complete. Once we can get it working, will review it here. Can't wait
  6. Wow Aya&Aki, i've only been away for a few days and you guys have already completed so many things! Looking gooooood!
  7. Bigger then yours??? no wayyyy ... your WIW is legendaryyy.
  8. OMGGGG!! you guys are poisoning Choco84's mind with all these suggestions and peektures! shooo shooooo ! <editted: Eh Getzski, i see a skibag? i presume this is your extra hanger in your place?> May : MJ Table > Clothes... muahahhaha i like that
  9. poor poor Aik. Maybe him and me can go shopping for portable clothes hanger together muahahahahaha
  10. No problem Neo! You can come over anytime you want. But if you want to sample Mr Donny's cooking (he promised to cook for my housewarming), might have to wait a little while more In case you didn't see my post in your blog ; CONGRATS! on the completion of your place! now you and grace can kick back, relax and enjoy your home!
  11. But i am sure you are a nice person and you're sharing the wardrobe equally with Aik? Choco84's solution to wanting more space was :"Babe, i buy you those portable clothe hanger and put in storeroom.. should be enough for your clothes hor?" (all these while batting her eyelids and pouting) zzz..z.zzzz
  12. May, hopefully we won't regret it in future cos we had to sacrifice the size of our common room for this. bo chap! Enjoy now first!
  13. I know that feeling bro. But better rest more while you still can. Cos as many bros and sis here know, once your reno starts, rest goes out of the window! muahahahaha... No point telling Donny to take his time hahahah, his personal motto is "can do fast why do slow?" lol Anyway, all the best man. Hope you will enjoy your reno process as much as we have ours.
  14. May-whos-name-is-not-May Can i know how does part time cleaning aunty charge? Is it very expensive? Cos we were thinking of hiring one in future as well.
  15. LOL yeah lor! Magic sponge seems to be contractor/IDs best friend. Donny uses it now for cleaning everthing. Even his toenail that day after general cleaning. muahahahahaha!
  16. Getzski, I know what people can buy for your housewarming liao!
  17. Wah May! This is even better then appearing on HomeReno magazines!
  18. Hi Aya, you are right about the baby oil technique. We do that in commercial kitchens as well. In fact, once or twice a month, we will even use baby oil on stainless steel surfaces of items like fridges and freezers. Neoby is right about less being more too. Too much on on granite sink surface and you will get patches that takes a while to go away. So one way would be to lightly coat a cotton cloth with baby oil and wipe it instead of letting the oil soak on the granite surface. Hope that helps!
  19. Neo and Grace! Congrats on moving in! Beginning to look more like a home from the pics
  20. Hi Shahril! Thanks for dropping by and the kind words bro! How was your talk with Don?
  21. Hi Aya, we decided on top mount cos we heard so many horror stories about undermounting. And we being lazy people didn't really want to deal with all that hassle. You bought the black color too? What color would your top be? My amatuerish opinion would be that if its going to be black on black, top mounting would look equally nice.
  22. MAUAHAHAHAH i missed out this post! now that i've seen it, it nearly cracked me up for almost 5 solid mins!! Now... i need to go and find a holder too ...
  23. Lol, yeah. His portfolio pics are all stored in his phone. Think i'm going to offer to help him organize them into folders Guoxing is might not be the cheapest, but his work is top notch. Since we are using the same guys, if you want to see their workmanship, just pop over to my place anytime man. I'll send you my contact over PM if you need me to be around. Ohhhh yours is the project starting on the 16th cos he mentioned he will not be free from 15th onwards. He + James and my bunch of mates will be going Go Karting in JB on the 15th :) All the best to your reno too!
  24. Shahril, all the best for your reno man! Remember when you compare quotes with other ID firms to see exactly what was quoted. Cos the initial quote price might differ alot but the cheaper quotes might have a lot of variation orders after completion. With Donny, my VO (not including things i wanted added after the initial quote) was only +-$1k. So the final price was quite close to his quote.
