well said!! haizz... it's not that i go and ask her abt such stuff but she will just call me and ask me how's my reno etc etc i know she meant well but to me it's a form of stress coz her method of handling is different from mine... i see it differently as her as well told her yesterday that she is stressing me she said it's best to get HDB licensed contractor. understand her pt. had oso asked hubby abt it yesterday. however, hubby thot little of it. to him, the responsiveness and the responsibility and quotation of the contractor matters more than licensing... it's just purely different views but sometimes i feel dat my fren is enforcing her views on me.. when she was deciding on her wedding banquet venue, i did gave her my suggestion but i didnt enforce my belief on her. she wanted to choose GCW vs. HIPV. i advised her to choose HIPV but she was swaying in between. after i've said my piece, i did not ask her abt the matter again... but still, i'm glad that she made her choice for HIPV not that i dun appreciate her advices etc, but sometimes i feel that those advices given is not within my consideration and not to certain extent, impt to me... now she's telling me to buy the fridge... but i havent settle my contractor yet! placed order for the fridge if after dat find that dimension cannot fit then how?? i oso no mood to buy other things before i settled my contractor.. sorry for the rant here... i'm feeling frustrated too

seriously, i dun give a da mn abt brands i asked coz i thot it is impt... my fren kept telling me to engage ID blah blah blah... saying contractors give lower quotations but the laminate they use is not branded and so not good but for hubby and i, we do not give a da mn care abt brandings!! as long as the material can last, it is all it matters... very stressed out by this fren of mine...

gals, got another question to ask... wat are the popular and better brands of laminate to be used for the kitchen cabinets??

hello!! just back in office... tis morning i went to the site that is 20 mins bus ride from my home and very very nearby to my new home very sianz now back to office coz cannot idle... nothing to do yet gotta act busy actually a lot of reading ups... the more i read, the more confused i am last evening managed to meet the contractor. he went to my new place to take measurement and will be discussing abt the quotations next sat... initially din wanna meet him coz hubby not free and i dun feel safe meeting him alone in the isolated flat... so got my sis and my sis got her hubby to go tog... ended up hubby's appt last min cancelled and he rushed down.. glad that everything goes as wat i've planned!! hope that the quotations of this contractor is ok... i find him more sincere than the other one.. he told me nobody charge floor tiles per tile cost instead of psf even my parents' house done 20 yrs ago oso charged by psf. and dat uncle kept saying he is traditional contractor... now i really die die dun wanna engage him liaoz... even if the contractor that i met up with yesterday cannot make it, i rather search for other contacts

seriously i dun give a da mn to their probs hubby was telling me next time his bro jialatz cannot buy 1st hand HDB flat i asked hubby "how u know he wanna stay in HDB? for all u know, he might be already eyeing on private condos etc" my MIL is different. watever she do, she will wanna help us financially. even when she's not earning alot as domestic helper for a neighbour dat is why we would rather she keep the money coz we foresee her second son will need it more than we do. we just dun wan the mother to suffer... my dad oso use water alot!! i always have to tell him to lower the volume of the tap hubby is another one

i mean if wanna eat expensive meal is ok but everybody chips in instead of one person pay rite? somemore mother is theirs oso leh... hubby and i had to pay everything for the new flat etc... even wedding dinner and honeymoon we paid back watever MIL gives us... coz we dun wanna rely on them. i tink for him, my MIL will have to fork out money for his banquet etc coz the gf likes branded stuff my mum's mother's day meal oso ard $150 for 9 persons and we split among the 3 siblings MIL's mother's day meal is $188 for 5 pax and hubby paid for it already no wonder no matter how many jobs my hubby do, no matter how hard we save, no matter how hard we refrain from spending, still our expenses are high fyi, hubby is already paying for MIL's insurance premiums. monthly is $300++ hor i tink sooner or later we gotta go to the streets and beg for $ liaoz if my sis were to buy any insurance policies for my parents, i will definitely share the cost with her even if she said dun want somemore BIL is earning much more than hubby hor... my sis earning only half of wat i'm earning and she has a family so when we go out for meals, i wont want her to pay it's like... be automatic lah!
