did patrick recommend u where to buy WC, sink and basin?

u can ask u for recommendations .. think he can help... ask the coy to deliver for u, then patrick will help u install...

the hob and hood also must buy urselves and patrick will install for u'll

  2. Hi,

i'm thinking of getting a quote from Hoo Bee too.. As i need to apply for renov loan, can anyone advise me which bank is better & how to go about to apply? Can i request the bank to issue 2 cheques instead of one? And can i get renov loan under Hoo Bee company, oh i mean r they qualify? Sorry as i really not sure :D

banks just need a quotation with signature... Patrick will know... most banks can give u up to 3 cheques... if u wan more than that i think u gotta pay them some processing fee...

rhb can also - same procedure - took them less than 3 days to approve my loan.

after that, hobee with liase with rhb...rhb will ask for your permission before each cheque is issued.

i did the liasing myself... Maybank took nearly a week to approve my loan and issue me the cheque...

After which i kept the cheques myself hehe until Patrick requested some payment frm me... which is when my renos are abt 70-80% completed... hehe

  3. Any1 bought the simmons maxipedic? we just bought one /w mem foam dunno good or not, but it feels good when we lie down at the shop lah... highly recommended by the boss, we feel beautyrest is too hard... it's continous spring not pocketed spring.. but anyway we dun feel the diff between pocketed spring and this continous spring sys, min disturbance ...

  4. sorry ah.. i mixed up ur identities ah!

Wah... i din know patrick is so chin chai leh... very hard to find contractor so trusting of his customers nowadays... i guess maybe it's because nobody ever brought him to casetrust before.. so he doesn't care much about the legalities?

i am impressed by his trust in me though HAHHAHA he not scared that i dun pay him meh?

aiyah... i thought at least they will come up with a final quotation and have a clause "I accept the above quotation" or something like that. then i can bargain a bit before i sign it. now he so trusting, make me feel very pai say to bargain.

did u guys ask for more discount? it's not that i feel his price is unreasonable. but it's just that i on tight budget mah. haha.

we did bargain lah... he revised his quote to about $500 less after we told him our budget.. but it still exceed our budget by quite a sum(cos we also add alot of things hehe).. his pricing is reasonable lah but not cheap... i can say

  5. Hi Mace

???:)! u pay them when u feel like it??!!! AHHHHH okie.... what if i dun feel like paying them? hahahhahah then no need to pay is it?

i din know they are so nice! most contractors will at least ask for deposit lor.

anyway... then did u guys SIGN anything before he started? No contract or whatever?

what if i want to bargain? then how u bring it up? thanks!

dun wan to pay them? u not afraid they mess up ur house? hehe they have the tools u noe?

no leh also never sign anything...

no contract... bargain? u can ask and give patrick ur budget, and patrick will give u a revised quote he will inform u if that's the best he can give u already...

    and u can't bargain anymore...

  6. hello guys

I also need some help here...

I'm starting the reno with Ho Bee this week. HDB permit has been applied and posted on my door.

But... I haven't signed anything or paid anything to Ho Bee yet. Neither do I have sort of a time table or planning or anything...

I think we are starting the hacking this week.

Is that the way Ho Bee works? No need to sign contract and all that?

    *blur*

yes no need to sign any contract, and they dun pester u for payment also... u pay them when u feel like it... any amount(of cos not too ridiculous amt lah), any time... for me i paid them 40% when my renos is about 70% done, then another 40% when completed and the rest 3/4 mths after completion hehe...

  7. RENO DAY TWENTY SIX

reno has been going very slooooooooooooooow for last week.. was expecting to see more coming up.. but not much changes yet :)

still waiting for carpentery to start and grilles to be installed.

went to lifestyle 21 fair yesterday..

saw one tall water feature for $1888!:yamseng: it will b very very nice if it is at the entrance foyer acting as divider from the living room.. :D:P:P

    haiz.. no $$ no talk.. :P:):) for toto/ 4D to strike~

There is a stall at farmmart selling water features.. have u visited the place yet? they also have alot of nice nice water features, i think all cost less than $1188... u can ask them to customise to your need also...

  8. Hi, I am trying to learn to install shelf and is there any website that have a guide abt the type of drill to purchase and way of using it.

    Thanks.

buy those "impact drills" (with hammer function), drill bits buy those 'masonary drill bits" the tip is somewhat flat and chrome in color (not those black ones)... oh btw if u are drilling into walls do get those better bits (eg. B & D) else after a few drillings, ur bit will be blunt, waste $$...

can go to any DiY or hardware shops..

  9. okok, will pm u my no, u sms me when u there lo..

  11. hi bubblepearl,

is good that u stay there, so can find out..but usually RP flat are sold out so fast....before i got chance to find out :o

What i more worry is these are loan sharks units....then headache..

yalor loan sharks and scare the house not 'clean'... we also bought a RP flat... so far so good... we took our dog there... if he scare to go in then i think something wrong liao.. but he rushed inside the flat as soon as the door is open so i guess our unit is 'clean' haha...

  12. hi there sunboi..

i think making own furniture is good. although not as professional looking.. it's still your own sweat and blood, so maybe will appreciate it better ? :)

the sense of acomplishment is ther..simple and small ones can lah but big big ones i think cannot leh... if everyone can DiY furnitures then i think no need carpenter liao lor ... haha... but it's hard work though...all the sawing, nailing, screwing etc...

  13. Hi there.. anybody tried to DIY your renovation works?

Not too sure if someone has started similar thread before but i did try to search but can't find any thing..

The reason think of DIY renovation works is because:

    Save money?

Going to stay in the house for many years.. good to see your own work again and again..

Can choose and customise your own design

Can do the work with your FH/FW together

Some of the things that i can think of is

    Painting.

    laying of floor tiles

    Cabling works

Maybe you can add on to the list?

There are many links on the web about DIY reno if you do a search on google..

    so anyone done that before?

i did my own painting...save around $600... thinking of making some small furnitures like shoe cabinets

pros is cheap cons is may not be as nice as professionals lor

  14. RENO DAY FOUR

Homogenous tiles laid in bomb shelter! No pix cos was raining when we reached.. so very dark in the BS.

Went up to an unit on level 6.. saw that the owner who r a couple, hacked the walls of the study room and replaced with glass.. very nice :dancingqueen: makes the whole area looks very spacious (the owner only spent 30K for the whole reno loh!).. almost tempted me to call up my ID and request to do the same.. but seems like its a bit too late leh.. cos tiles are being laid liaoz.. haiz..

hubby also trying to convince me not to do glass area cos i will need to maintain.. :dancingqueen:

i think mayb the most I will see if I can put up full height mirror at the dining area.. really worried that the whole house will look cluttered with my 2.9m long sofa and pool table..

tomolo.. will need to go Ikea to source out our spotlight and the pictures that we r going to display :notti:

    another tiring day ahead.. 8|

haha ur hubby have the same concern as me.. scare difficult to maintain... thumbprints will 'stain' the glass easily... our design is based mainly on maintainability... dunno if too much glass ur dog will accidently 'bang' into it or not? hmmm...
