  1. www.legrand.com search under distributors - choo chiang $9.00 before GST.
  2. hope you dont mind me saying this; this is expensive, market rate for installing a toilet bowl = $80, Basin = $40-$60 that is without doing the tiles - just the toilet bowl/basin the above are WANTs, not needs. you want a pretty toilet then you got to pay the price lor. a 3x2.5ft mirror is less than $30 at sungei road. drill 4 holes on the wall(buy those mirror brackets) and you can hook it up nicely. $160 is cut throat! unless it's a mirror with built in TV machiam sci fic movies. perhaps you wanna compare more quotations from other contractors.
  3. Another clip from PUB brochures. AVERAGE consumption based on household types.
  4. wah...no wonder i keep SENSING got shadows behind me.... !! 7th moon now leh...

  6. how come you know me stuck in tpy? eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks! stalkers!!!!
  7. thought told you long time ago liao??? I compiled the list again. The Fishes who drinks electricity 1) any electric appliance that uses a transformer - OFF the switch cos it is still consuming electricity even though you already unplug your laptop/hp from it. eg - laptop power adapters, handphone chargers 2) any fridge made before 2001(meaning if you bought in 2001) are 90% non-energy-star compliance. which also means DRINKING at least $40-$70 of electricity every mth. Buy a new one. 3) vaccuum cleaner - a few thousand watts minimum. use broom or featherduster, acumulate the dust then use the vaccuum cleaner to suckup the dust. 4) electric kettle/airpot - at least $30-$40 per mth. Use gas to boil water and use a non-electrical airpot to keep warm. 5) microwave oven - unplug the cord when not using - cos even if you dont use the microwave oven, the clock alone sucks up at least 24 watts per day. Also try to minimise the usage of microwave oven. 6) hair dryer - a few thousand watts also - use the fan (average fan consumes only 30-60watts) hair dryer uses as much electricity as the microwave oven! 7) aircon - never use a old aircon, lots of electrical appliances made before 2000 are known to consume a lot of electricity. 8) Electric clothes dryer - this one is the best - cos even PUB recommends consumers to use the free dryer ( the hot sun ). It was in their brochures. must contribute MORE
  8. only those appliance with a clock sucks up electricity(microwave with clock), other than the usual transformer type charger or power supply that uses a transformer - like your handphone charger, even if you unplug your phone, the charger is still consuming electricity - same goes to laptop power adapter. your electric airpot drinks electricity like fish! it's one of the most Electricity consuming appliance in a household!! try to use gas to boil water.
  9. poor man like me, those stuffs that can DO it Myself then do lor...if dunno then find someone who knows to teach, if cant find anyone then bobian pay $$$ to others to do..... 19. DIY timer for ventilation fan(toilet) bought this esaver timer ( www.esaver.com.sg ) it was invented for use with a INSTANT water heater(not for storage heater) which I find rather redundant since most pple would switch off the heater when they leave the bathroom. most pple as in NOT the forgetful types. Making the forgetful ones pay the PUB bill will definitely cure their forgetfulness! A joke heard over class95 the only way to make yourself REMEMBERs your wife's birthday is to forget it ONCE. But i really find this thing work BEST with a ventilator since one would need to have the ventilator turn on for certain period of time after leaving the bathroom/toilet. With this timer, there is no more need to walk all the way back to the toilet just to turn it off. Drill holes on a box for the wires(esaver) to go thru. Drill holes on the box with the ventilator's switch. Once the wires are thru, just connect them to the switch. 99% done 100% done and ready for action. total cost esaver timer - $18.00 switchbox - $1.00 apart from the tools. Happy DIYing! no problem, me need to get another 2 more racks + 9 ikea boxes... !! i find black colour racks blends perfectly with red box though.. hehe !!
