mine so far quite ok with the respond. waited for couple of days for the quotes. As for appointments, pretty fast response. Like 2 nights ago, I called patrick that I wish to meet him up this sunday, he said currently he is outside, unable to note down my address, will call me later. Less than 5 mins, he got his wife to call me to note down my address. Very fast response!

Should be around <7k. This is my guess lah. My first quote is 5.6k. I need to get him to come down and take a look at my house. Will need to add another 2 more items. See how it goes. Will be getting keys this sunday. Feeling more and more excited. Hehe.

So far i only called patrick once to so-called "chase" him for the quote. I just asked him, did he receive my email, he said yes and said will get back to me in 1-2 days time. After a day, his wife called me and said they had send me a quotation. I understand that they are busy and willing to give more time grace. I think afterall have to plan our time properly. Some things just cannot be rush. Knowing that a popular contractor/ID, there bound to be delays, have to take in account for such cases. Who don't want to have their house done up asap? Ah keong told me that they have alot of quotation requests through the internet. I told asked him how long do they need to take to complete my reno, they said 2 weeks, I said no hurry. Afterall, among here i think my reno cost is the lowest. [opps, just saw the post above, i am not the lowest in reno cost. ]

My reno also a small one. Around < 7k. I think have to not only consider service before and during reno, after service is also impt. I dont find patrick any how quote to me. Ah keong show us the pricing of different types of laminate.

Went to meet up with Ah keong from Ho Bee Renovations, Ah keong. We went down to their workshop at Kranji Loop. Manage to met Patrick but he was in hurry to rush of to meet his client. We talked to Ah keong instead. Easy-going, honest guy. Advise us quite a number of things. I am suprised of some of his ideas. This is what we called experience counts. Hehe. Saw some of his finished products from pictures. Very nice. And also saw some of his laminated works. Nicely done. Ah keong told us that currently they have 21 projects on hand. WOW SO MUCH! Can see that he and his workers were tired and yet hardworking. Due to our things to-do-list is not much, the quotations we gotten so far (4 quotations), is more or less the same price. At most 300-400 bucks difference. Initially, our budget is 5k, I think now have to stretch abit to 6-7k. !! Initial quote is 5.6k. Will get them to come down to do measurements and get the final quotation (base on to-do-list below). Hopefully, they can give us some discounts. To-do-list: - Construct fridge and washing machine base with matching tiles. - Feature wall with tic tac door at household shelter. - Display cabinate (without glass) - Construct platform @ living room - Remove existing master bathroom door - Remove existing common bathroom door - Construct 2 bi-fold bathroom doors - Remove existing platfrom in master bedroom (please see attached, for master bedroom picture) - Custom made a TV console (width - 85cm, moveable type) - Change existing wardrobe sliding doors - Painting (whole unit) - Chemical cleaning (whole unit) - Lay protection sheet !!

can understand why it is more expensive. theirs bi-fold doors are top tracks only.. which is the new trend now, in long run it seems to be more durable.

Oops.. yesterday went to ikea and saw a coffee table, the size just right for my TV console area. Due to some reasons I can only have limited size TV console. The coffee table in white looks quite nice..

yaya.. i also talk to mrs quek twice. !! cheaper ah.. i cannot comment much, my items to-do-list pretty little, budget 5k only. !! bi-fold doors for bathrooms is more expensive than other IDs/contractors. Patrick told me they change to a higher quality one. Quite detail explain to me through the phone. I asked whether can have more colours for painting (currently they are giving 4 colours), he said 1-2 colours more, no problem. hehe.. just go look look lor.. and i want to ask some questions also.. hopefully ah keong can answer. I haven gotten my keys yet, should be getting latest by next wk, if nothing goes wrong.

i see... anyway i called him this afternoon, asked him some question and request to view some of his works. He said currently his projects all on tiling works, not yet to capentary, but can go down to his workshop @ kranji to see see look look. I arrange to go down tml, but will be meeting ah keong instead.

i got @ $1550. But i did some small amt bargining.. since i bought 3 things from them. for the free home theater system, they say suppose to be over liao, but because of the IT show, they continue the promotion. Not sure how true is it.

Counting down to collection of keys... If nothing goes wrong, it will be next week. Already ask my agent to finalise the exact date and time for the handover, waiting for her reply now.. Just went for shopping spree at Hong Liang. Bought TV, fridge and washing machine. @ $2950. Samsung 32" LCD TV comes with free Home Theater system.
