  1. Set up your own t-blog dude. Can you imagine how many noobs and newbies here like me will learn? You will "inadvertently" impact lives. Your approach towards things may be harmless but many might misread your kind intentions. I totally respect the fact that you're probably one of the very technical reno "veteran" here but firstly, you need to get down to brass tracks before getting the show on the road pal, if you understand what I mean.
  2. Some allow you to choose a different colour for the cable. But it's so difficult to locate online shops in Europe. I'm looking for lights somewhere along the line of the attached design. Any shops?
  3. Hi all, Anyone have any idea where can I get lights like that. I'm looking at black bulb holder and red cable. Please PM me if it's not convenient to reveal here. TIA
  4. PM'ed. If you're looking for contractor you can use him as well.
  5. Windows:

My main con sourced it for me. Roy Tan 9007 3306. Tell him the clementi house and he'll know.

  6. Hey sohnice, congrats on your beautiful home. Can I have the contact for the hidden floor trap please. Thank you
  7. Wah! I've seen the same phrase about European Kitchen and FULL BLUM system at least 10 times already. I really want to see how nice it is...
  8. Sure. Will upload more pictures when I go down. If my memory serves me right, they will be working on finishing up the tiling & plastering, electrical works and false ceiling concurrently with carpentry this week till next. I'm not really a good photographer so I'm ok if you wanna drop by the place and take a look at the "real" work. I would advice you to engage an ID not only you're comfortable with but able to see their "real" (3D drawings is not enough) workmanship prior to penning your signature. Drop me a PM if you want and I can give you the address.
  9. Exactly right. I have some friends telling me 7th month still got some good dates but Qing Ming is a big no-no! The air is stronger or something. I don't mean to be rude but this is the nicest way I can put it. On the contrary, I get friends telling me: "No need to bother la. You work, save and pay for the house, "they" want to come and occupy means come ah? Where got such thing? Have some sense of ownership leh." I believe I'll go for the latter. From the free thinking perspective, I've done nothing wrong. I don't have to be afraid. So Starburst, does that help you pluck some courage? Lastly, just to share, not to be insulting to anybody/religion. A friend told me: "you sure read from those forum right. don't go and read and become skeptical. this is your home! only you and those whom you allow have the right to enter."
  10. LLChing: PM'ed you. Renovation's good. Should be completed around last week of March to first week of April. Haven't been going to see see look look that's why not much pictures. Will get pictures up soon...
  11. ahlipz: there are more colours than these 3. Go look around.
  12. Starburst18: I'm facing the same problem as you. Although Missus and I are free thinkers and thought that we should just move in anytime we want, we wanna seek opinions.
  13. You can. 2 scenario. (take for e.g A & B earning 2,500 & 3,500 respectively) 1) Total loan is 6,000 x 6 or 30,000 whichever lower. = you only get 30,000 2) If A apply from Bank A & B apply from Bank B separately, you get 15,000 + 21,000 or you can submit 2 different application forms to the same bank. (that's what a friend of mine did)
  14. Hey iwantto, Bodum's available at places in Singapore like Takashimaya & Tangs. I got my coffee maker for GBP60 from WMF here. Typically, Bodum's a tad cheaper than WMF. BoConcept on the other hand has got a boutique in Paragon. You could find decent European appliances in places like Tangs, Takashimaya, Robinsons and some other bits and bobs. But note that the variety could be very limited. ie. The Bodum knife block I was eyeing wasn't available so I've gotta ship it over. Having gone to the UK before, trust me, Singapore's not all that expensive. Based on the comparision I've made online and in local retails, get them from UK. Post shifting to Singapore, buying online could still be a cheaper alternative if you have friends/family living in the UK who could help ship your items to Singapore without going through a third party courier. Those haemorrhoids proved to be a big bag of wank. Leave me a tinkle if you need more info. Happy to help.
  15. Hi all, I'm looking for the Louis Poulsen PH5 in red. Anyone knows where I can purchase one besides Lorgan's? If it's not convenient to post here, please PM. Would be good if you have info on price as well.
  16. So far, I've purchased from Bodum, OXO, VIPP and some others, all arrived. Have not really tried those websites where they carry more than their house brands. A word of advice is to pay using PayPal. God forbids if anything goes wrong, you're still covered.
  17. I personally swear by Mitsubishi.. I can't be certain but I've read and heard Samsung don't really make good fridge.
  18. Albert: I TOTALLY agree with you. Anyway, any definite reviews for Citygas Heater? Reviews seem to be in the grey area or the skeptical ones use until so shiok and forget to come up with a review...
  19. I knew of someone who wrote an appeal straight to Khaw B.H after receiving a meagre loan amount from HDB. He quoted his Oct 19, 2011 article. http://www.asiaone.com/Business/News/My%2BMoney/Story/A1Story20111019-305945.html His case was expedited and within 1 1/2 weeks, he got his desired loan amount approved. If I remembered correctly, he did a spreadsheet containing exact mathematical calculations on why HDB should approve their desired loan amount and how they can pay back. Then again, this is based on case by case basis. You gotta be persistent, determined and HDB needs to be convinced. Income documents are mere paperwork for formalities sake. (hint) Good luck.
  20. I've some friends who faced the same problem. They succumbed to the banks eventually. HDB were never generous enough for housing loans. If you want to get the maximum out from them, they would want you to meet their maximum requirements (plus more). In other words, to squeeze them dry, you gotta be "over qualified". Just my penny's worth and manifested by some...
