Reno started slowing down after all the above was done.... HDB have yet to approved our slanted main entrance, this delayed our hacking of the entrance wall and study wall. We really can't afford to wait any longer, MIL already hinting to us, keep asking us when we are moving back and the daily journey from north-east-CBD and CBD-east-north is killing us!!!!! We told the contractor to go ahead to hack the study wall and leveling up the kitchen floor while we give HDB another few more days to approve. If still not approved by then, we got to go for Plan B After all the hacking and leveling, we are left with flooring, carpentry, painting and lighting, this will take another month to complete :furious: Till now we have yet to finalise our carpentry work!!!!! :furious: Got to speed things up already!

Yeah... the railing is up! You only see this type of railing in commercial/retail building and so far I didn't see any home owner doing this. We are taking the risk and I think it really turns out well!! Next will be putting on color on it and it will be perfect! We may just do away with replacing the parquet stairs, instead my SO is thinking of just cement screed to match the railing?!!

I have a similar situation too, and its the agent who stir s***. We agreed with owner their moved out date to be 1mth before 2nd appt. this was agreed during signing of OTP. Owner is very kind and moved out on the agreed date. Then we need to get them to sign the indemnity form via their agent... Later agent called me and telling me nosence about it's not right, it's illegal bla bla bla!! And she don't want to pass me back the signed form. I told her off, this is what we agreed before we signed the OTP, its gentleman agreement! I even told her its fine if she dont pass me the form, reno will still start, any problem the owner will bear!! I really don't understand why the agent have to iget involved, anybody knows?? So i really think in your case, the agent must have told them something to scare them!! On the other hand, let them stay happily till the last day. I agreed its not easy to let go of the home filled with history! Anyway, smooth sailing for your reno!

Yhe problem is contractor didnt apply to hdb, just told us cannot, HDB will only approve provided our window is facing our own balcony. But i went downstair ane look up to all my neighbours, i saw one of them install this type...

Went p to the top floor of my block and was surprised by the view! You can even see our very own Sand pit at the very far end. But very soon, this view will be blocked the the project infront of us.

Tiling for the bathroom started today... Wiring for the whole house is almost done too!

hmmmm... maybe you are right! I wanted to have a dish rack as a drying cum storage rack but my SO says no need So if not installing dish rack, then I will just do simple left/right open door. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi yhliang, I remembered viewing a unit with the exact floor plan... The house is very spacious, the only wierd place is the common toilet, have to walk so far to reach. We offered but the agent don't sell to us.. Too bad! Have you consider round dinning table? My parents house had round table and can fit a long study table along the wall. We place our computer there when we are younger, you should know the reason lah. Dinning can sit 10 people easily during festive season. Just a thought!
