  1. I'm itchy to upgrade the inner pair, reading reviews now
  2. Random, from what Kim, I & rest posted so far, very decent information to add them & checked them out of the cart.
  3. Today went to Burlington Square to check out some possible upgradable valve tubes for my Cayin A88T. It was after a causal chat with Edward from Precision Audio, he taught me how to bais my KT88 tubes, also advised me what to upgrade since the amp comprised of 3 types of valve tube. Namely KT88 aka EH6550, 6SN7 & 6SL7, the later being the core for entire amp structure. No point upgrading the rest if 6SL7 not taken good care of. As recommended by local Xtremplace forumers, I made my way to the shop which sell all types of tubes. A quick chat with the boss, also insisted that I should upgrade 6SL7 1st which is so important of my amp structure. To upgrade all, my pocket will burn a hole for sure. Paid $105/ea or $210/pair. It is painful but I can understand the reason behind it after my novice knowledge in them. Not me, even my Missus was speechless about it. The toning is tight, smooth, natural. At bass level, it just sound so right, eliminates some echo had been lingering at my listening spot. The delicious tubes The front 2 original cayin 6SL7 tubes The new friends in da house Definitely happy with my setup!!
  4. Suggested retail damage at least $6k. If you don't audition the speakers, how do you know you will like it?
  5. Thanks mrmerry. There are far more better setups than mine if you visits Xtremeplace. Good resourceful forum. Remember to read up the stickies on Hifi setup. Cheers!
  6. Audtion is so fun & worthy at the end of the day!! The satisfaction coming out of her smiling face is priceless. We worked on her done deal Dynaudio Xeo 3 before moving on to look for pairing DAC. Ended up with Bel Canto 2.5 as final puzzle of the entire chain.Took us a fair bit of time to troubleshoot but when our Missus hear it, all just nod their ultimate head with pleasant smile.
  7. Nice!! Got numbers, should be easy to read that was to Kim. Devian mai blur!! Added into cart as well. Passed the requirement, got numbers. So many openings, collect dust. Imagine you need to clean the disc covers. OMG!!
  8. Over the weekend, dropped by Franc Franc @ Vivocity. Checking out any new items worth the hoot! Found these (Magnet clips & Soap dispenser) The clips(S$2) are in action, for coffee drinkers to refer to my nespresso capsules. The soap dispenser(S$15), I liked this one, due to the rounded corner, blended well with my table top. For those who had similar tabletop, can consider it. Comes in 3 colours, White, Black, forgotten the last colour. Final preview
  9. Will do so, keep you posted
  10. so far, we did not installed digital locks. Although there is 1 in our group did installed it. Using Samsung, pretty good as per his feedback. It was installed by Interlock. Can't remember the model, as I know, numbers lock with thumbprint security.
  11. the engineering on the robot is impt imo. Although I yet to read further on it. That's my decision on irobot.
  12. Yours look interesting to me at 1st glance. Look forward to your review
  13. Why not irobot? you also freq woot.com it is also my fav site.
  14. My new toy had arrived My FOC accessories (2 pieces of brush & 4 pairs of HEPA filter) Charging mode, 16 hours for the 1st initial time, can't wait for it in action I bought it from 3rd party parallel importer with local presence, cheaper price, on par, vs buying off at Amazon, save some $$ on GST as well. It was a group buy organised internally between Dragonnite(3 roomba 770 & 1 scooba), Devian, watcheong & I; 1 roomba 770 each. The website is http://www.autovacstore.com/ for further reading.
  15. Both my TV in my living room(65") & studyroom(42") are from Panasonic. They are leader in Plasma(before Pioneer exited from market, kuro technology was the best) which is the reason why I had opt for them. Plasma produces better 'black' than typical LED TV. Of cause as known, consumes more energy than latter, but the differences are pretty minimal, say $20-$30/year basis(online source), I can live with that, that's me. Plasma produces better picture quality imo if your intention of use strictly on typical local stream contents, movies. In LED, gaming stands out here, although it tends to be overly bright which also no doubt in color department outshines plasma. The only downside on plasma vs LED, during day use, Plasma can be too reflective which the later excels in. Side note, LED TVs are not true LED TVs. They are all LCD but "lit by LED backlight". There are edge-lit (cheaper) and back-lit (more ex) some with local dimming. To close the loop, ask the sales to put plasma & LED side by side, just take 40" size as comparison, make sure they reset it to default settings. I will explain why later. Ask for preview in 1) local stream contents & 2) movies played via bluray player. This is unbais comparison. Reason: How many of you alter the settings when TV arrived at your place? Prob you all will use it out of box when the technician is on site to fix up for you. Also, the sales prob had alter the settings to make this model looks good than the other. Typical, for SGreans, 1st is price follow by 2nd which is tv size. Found best of both world, BUY! Hardly compare at all. Cheers!
  16. Can, just 1 acount right? I can share but you pledge your amazon account to me hor.
  17. Oei...trying to front run us to be Bee's money manager, plse take Q no. , give you no. 3
  18. New or re-sale? If new, limited routes to plan your networking, of cause can be done, just need to brainstorm. If re-sale, pretty easy if you are hacking the flooring away. Aside, plse show me your floor plan and perhap list out what you want to do at present & future? Networking should be done during renovation. It is part of the process. Unless you can live with visible trucking around your place, can do after your renovation. Plse elebaorate what kind of hub you have in mind. If possible, list them out. Even the equipments, easier to run through them. Cheers! PS: To all, it is my own passion & interest in networking for my own home. To integrate my server, between various rooms, can be wired or wireless access. Hence, my suggestion can be subjective. Also, my opinion is meant for soho(small office home office) setup. I will try my best to help in any ways to avoid rectification. Feel free to ask!
  19. You got a good budget. $3k will do fine for your case. I will recommend you to go for Sony, Panasonic or Sharp. They are not just TV maker, they are also panel supplier to Samsung & LG. Have a read on this link. http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/house-displays-226/please-post-your-purchase-prices-here-thread-2183485-50.html They always update the recent deals on respective tv sizes and prices. Hope it will help in your selection. If possible, go for smart tv. it is worthy imo.
  20. We are ok hor...since when Kim & I been treating you badly? So far, I used Amazon direct shipping for UK Amazon, as for Kim, he did engaged a forwarder based in SG to ship back his Aktimate Maxi from UK to SG. I had used the forwarder for some of my US stuffs. Yet to tried out UK to SG though. Also, try Borderlinx or comgateway for UK 3rd party shipping, not sure it will reduce the shipping charges provided shipping charges are zero for UK addresses. Yes, I had contacted a 3rd party importer to do a demo for us last weekend at Kim's place. Ordered 5-6 sets of iRobot Roomba 770. price pretty decent, comes with accessories which will last us prob 1 year or so. Dragonnite had received the irobotyesterday
  21. Perhap next time if there is one, will headsup for you!
