Acryan is ok, simple GUI, most of the times, plays whatever files I had thrown in. Monoprice is ok, decent stuffs from them, not sure whether their shipping had came down though? Just ask your contractor to supply for you, no point buying yourself if not too many points. Savings might not be huge. If possible, run all points at 1 go, avoid adding any points later, you can cater additional points for future expansion, like IP cam etc. Can you let me know where you want the host your NAs, that will makes the linakge easier. Compare AcRyan alone with Smart Tv & Bluray player. AcRyan probably will perform better in streaming the contents. Smart Tv will do well, which I'm using at the moment. It is capable of reading subtitles as well, tried embedded subtitles though. As for downside, audio quality, but if you are streaming normal video eg like drama., should be fine. Another will be picture quality, the bigger your tv screen, the picture quality will be obviously bad as well, based on my 65" Plasma Tv. For Bluray player, they will do well, as you mentioned, subtitles issue. Picture & audio quality should be good. No worries. You are ordering Cat6 cables from Monoprice, custom length with keystone? Or loose cable to run your house? My answer will be run wired than wireless anytime. For small devices like tablets, smartphones & notebooks, should be fine on wifi. For decorated streaming, wired preferred to avoid lag. You can run your network cable over the air, just got to make sure they are shielded & not near to electrical wires.

I liked AMP so my answer is pretty obvious. The rest of the brands are pretty ok, so long they are cat6 grade. Why? Our movement of data are not greatly impacted vs Corporate. It depends on your contractor, which brand he is using, as such, you are likely to use his brand. A little diffcult to justify which brand is affordable if you get me. Of cause, you can out source the materials yourself like my case. Beldan not bad, but not for me, AMP is one of the leader in network cable. Also, what is your budget? AMP is considered highly priced, I bought mine in bulk roll form. I did tried to buy loose from Sim Lim Square stores, they jacked their prices more than 100%. Assuming your place is new, like mine, you should be good at 100-150m range. You can try to measure the length yourself, go the longest route, add 20%(minimum) extra as allowances for termination/relocation etc. The location of your hub will also contribute the length requires on your case. I bought mine at $220(300m). I think I had used 1/3 of it, The rest still in my storeroom :bleah: You can ask around, I can offload some to you. Have fun.
