bought these lights at $45 each. shop owner said these lights are from Italy. Willing to let go for $30 per light.

And I have 2 black lighting tracks. a 1M & 2M. Can't remember the price but willing to let go for $10 for the 1M track & $15 for the 2M track.

All items are self collection at my place.

I'm interested in the light! Is this wall or ceiling light? Is it warm or cool white color? Prefer the white one for my service yard.

  2. Did some shopping today @ Royal Fanco. The boss was very friendly and took time to explain quite a bit of stuff to me and fiance.

He has got a huge variety of stuffs, but a lot are not displayed.

Bought my toilet bowls, basins, kitchen sink, bathroom taps, instant heaters from him at the end. Very glad that I kept within my budget (low to begin with), and even managed to save some bucks for my lunch this month. ;)

Any recommendations for budget hob, hood, ovens? I want to keep my expenditure for these below 1.1k in total. No Bosch or Electrolux luxury brands of course. We will cook very light stuff, maybe twice a week at most.

  3. Time flies when you doing reno. I've been putting off my reno due to various reasons, but once it started it was like a train. And I agree about the part about plenty of decisions to be made, and a lot of them on the spot using pure imagination.

I remember asking me about how the tiling edges should be done. "45 degrees" or "rounded"? I was like, "huh? whats that?".

Your flat turned out beautifully too. :)

  4. Hi,

I'm no handy man. Can I find out if all taps (kitchen/bathrooms) have "standard" inlets? I'm intending to buy from taobao but I'm worried that i can't use it at my home.

Also, can I use the hot-cold taps if I only have cold water? Not intending to get storage heater.

    Appreciate any advise.

  5. Made some changes for our tiles.

Living and Kitchen after the hacking: Decided not to hack the service yard walls as we want to hide the ugly laundry poles.

Our relatively small MBR which will just have a king size bed, wall mounted TV, suspended dress table and cabinet below window recess.

WIW area to be built inside the large recess area. The other half of it will be my home theatre area. Still thinking how best to keep it neat.

  6. @ Bleucheeze: Wow, sorry to hear that.. but did you manage to work around the problem? Did you hack in the end?

As for mine, very happy that the wall has been hacked! I think there were no beam inside. Will follow up with Alan on that.

At the same time, decided not to hack the service balcony because the open-ness was achieved with just removing the living/kitchen wall. Further hacking the service yard wall will be overkill and messy with the laundry lying around.

Will take some pictures over the weekend!

  7. If I am you, I will not hack that wall. Don't like the idea of clothes hanging there to be very visible in the kitchen. Moreover when you cook, the fumes may affect clothes if they happen to be there?

Exactly my thought. The clothes will be very visible. It's currently a wall with a window gap (but no window). Also need to think ant what to do with that part. Shall post some pix tml!

Just met up with Alan, he mentioned there might be a beam in the wall between living and kitchen. But hdb has already approved.. Shouldn't it be okay enough to hack it? He said need to hack already then know.
