  1. hmm..i'm not a fan of white counter tops, i think you should go black just like the picture! or wood countertops. Or stainless steel, that fits more into the industrial theme....based on my many google searches, white countertops seldom appear. I think your cement screed like tiles should make the room a little brighter liao...going cement screed for walls too?
  2. Ooh you are going for island!! I've seen that kind of glass in someone's renoblog, also used in kitchen, but not a lot used, just 2 panels... I'm now waiting anxiously for my gate

  5. LOL....well i bought a shikifuton from amazon...and paid A LOT for postage from vpost...even more than the item itself...apparently sleeping on futon good for back, but cannot be a side sleeper. ozma mattresses also feel quite comfy, have you tried? and i think tempur is not that warm actually....u know what is cooling? tatami mat..i slept on one before..really cooling, just very hard.
  6. also put up my red Lack shelves from Ikea and did some modifications to Ivar shelves. Tested my new vacuum cleaner....so complicated modern vacuum cleaners are....so many things can plug in and out and change..until i blur... Side note: Shower head is FANTASTIC! glad I invested in it.
  7. today toilet doors and window grilles to be installed .... toilet doors has been done, along with the cove lights, but electrician is celebrating his birthday today so took off early. hehe... toilet doors are custom made i think, wire glass and powder coated black aluminium frame. Installing in MBR toilet: Common toilet
  8. Lol become dragon ball.... Black stain cannot wash off? Ask contractor if he got acid-based chemical to wash the stains off.... Heard quite effective.
  9. Actually read some research that says mattress thickness does not matter as much as comfort, so why not just go for whatever feels comfortable?
  10. Thanks, next stop , waiting for furniture.... Your flat looks mostly done! Shifted in already?
  11. sub-contractor came over to measure the MBR toilet to install sliding glass door. Glad he brought his own light as toilet lights are NOT installed yet. Forgot to take picture of new front door, just installed, wanted to go for digital lock, but the price is a bit high..maybe in future.
  12. NO updates for past few days...contractor says he working on cabinet offsite and will install by Monday...it's going to be very scary waiting for that cause I went for random colours in the kitchen..hopefully I can get the effect I want. Anyway, toilets are done up except for doors..and kind of liking my MBR without doors...but not a good idea. View of toilet from MBR. I am liking it very much, simple and feels cooling. gonna have to hang some pictures on the walls to warm up the place a bit..maybe a flower or two. Toilet bowl recommended by contractor..looks quite nice. The common toilet, a bit smaller than the MBR toilet with LOADS of pipes running through it. (shower area)
  13. Mrs Loo, can just use vibrant colours as accent colours also nice, that was my original plan, but decided to try a bit more colour. A little brightly coloured cushion here and there, a table runner..and your house will be very vibrant too!
  14. hmmm....i was just being risky with the colour choices..my kitchen laminates also..going a bit patchwork style...doors with different laminates..see how it turns out, can be nice, can be ugly.. i'm happy with the outcome, but i guess one is never satisfied..always want to add more, change this and that... but for now, yep...can live in and feel good about it. and no, did not buy the pink toy seat. cheapest i saw is at egg3, 300 odd i think?
  15. me whole house all apple....not spoilt yet!
  16. Finally when the ivar shelves came..decided to create a mini walk in wardrobe...unfortunately i must hack off one part of the shelves to make the WiW, so will have to wait until my contractor helps me this Saturday morning!

Anyways colours just daringly choose, lots of websites suggests choice if colours to match, contrast....I do think I chose the wrong purple thoug, supposed to be darker and less pinkish...but will live with it for now.
  22. View from dining/kitchen into inner living room: And now the only view I do not like..from inner living room out into the main living area....i feel the purple a bit too strong here, the grey does not stand out! must choose the correct pictures to put on the wall i guess.
  23. Went over to check out the final results of painting...some areas newspaper will stuck to the wall (especially in the corners), hopefully my contractor will clear that up when they are cleaning the place... Different views from different parts of the house, making sure the colours meld/contrast well with one another...generally like all the views except one. Bedroom into living area View from living room into the bedroom/ inner living room...strong contrast of colours! view of shoe/umbrella/welcome area: Inside the bedroom, this shot better shows the colours: View from dining/kitchen into bedroom:
