  1. Hi Cyril1986, an share which IDs have you been to and got the 50k+ quotation? I have submitted to a few as well and the first quotation I have received is already 50k+!? and i dont even have any featured walls?! start to wonder if 40k+ is not enough and 50k is the minumum....
  2. hi tanslee, oh so your contractor has his own in-house workers...is your contractor any good? in terms of carpentry, painting etc? what's your comments on your reno completed by him? can share your contractor's contact?
  3. Thanks...still trying to get pass step 1...getting an ID/contractor... oh...contractor dont do co-ordinating..i'm thinking if the contractor has all the in-house carpentry, wetworks, electric works etc...he will be co-ordinating them (?)... I doubt most of us have work with very flexible hours..if contractors cant do co-ordinating then will have to settle for IDs.
  4. hi zhiz, yes, i did read both your threads...have done some research and have selected a few IDs and contractors...now waiting for quotations and meetups. i already know what i want but want to see if any of the IDs can further improve...
  5. Hi Jovin, I'm planning reno for my resale. Can you please share kelvin's contact with me? Can you comment on their carpentry works? Are your wardrobes and cabinets made up to standard? Thanks.
  6. Hi,

could you share ken's contact no#?

  7. hi musicbox, thanks for your comments. Yes, i have decided on matt white tiles as I have read many threads and reviews on cement screed flooring and so far there are more cons than pros... I know normally ID is more expensive but it's not easy to get a contractor who can give some ideas to enhance your design...so what I'm looking for now is some IDs or contractors who provide good quality reno jobs without being too expensive.. I know that light wood is the current trend to go with minimalist theme but light woods get dirty easier and trend changes every year....so trying to get a good mix of the color going....the dark wood is like chocolate color but not black... Love the white flooring of your living room.
  8. hi, may i know how are the cabinets and wardrobes? up to standard? the reason i'm asking is becos the cabinets made for myu current house are not up to standard...

  9. Hi,

saw your post...could you advise some multiple trades direct contractors in this forum.

may i know what you meant by mutiple trades?

  10. good info here...i know that direct contractors are supposingly cheaper but it's not easy getting one that is good with design... I'm more concerned with the standard of reno especially carpetary... Could you advise on the 2 direct contractors in this forum? are they any good? have PM you. thanks.
  11. ahh...i see...thanks for the info...asking becos thinking of using diff shades of whites and greys instead of all pure whites...afraid too bleach and one-dimension. Should be hiring ID instead as I need inputs on the ceiling portion...although I know what I want generally for the whole house, i'm open to suggestions to make it better... really thankful for your advices and samples.
  12. thank you very much!! like the few all white bedrooms! i have 1 more query....does minimalist = white color? if you mix it with shades of greys or different shades of whites, is it still considered as one?
  13. artwork on the wall? does mona lisa considered an artwork? I did have a few pieces of framed jigzaw puzzles (2000 pcs so it's big) - 1 mona lisa,1 knapolean and 1 animal of the world (in a 1 shade of brown)... in antique old frame but dont think it will go well with minimalist, wil it? oh..would you have any minimalist bedrooms or study rooms samples for reference?
  14. can anyone share mr K or steven/ max contact numbers? please PM me. Thanks!
  15. Oh....all these were quoted 50K+?! I will be doing 1-7 on your list...plus a shelf for TV in the living room...still considering whether to make a study table or buy one...but my budget is around 40K..
  16. hi, can share me steven and max contacts?

planning my first reno for my resale.

    TIA.

  17. Hi, Merry Christmas to you too!! Yes, most likely going for white matte tiles. yes again...gaps appearing between the individual wooden strips...i understand that parquet is organic which is the reason why I'm looking at laminate wood flooring...trying to reduce the possibility of cracks. Will keep in mind clean lines for every room....actually the living/ dining room will be very bare...except for a tv shelf, a sofa and dining table/ chairs. Oh, using LED down lights? will google that and see what it is... I'm looking at cove/ mood lighting for the rooms....is that the same thing?
  18. hi cyril1986, may i know what does your full reno cover? i'm asking becos i am preparing for mine as well - it's around the same area size as yours and I'm looking at full reno. my full reno includes changing the flooring for the whole house, redo 2 toilets, 3 wardrobes and kitchen cabinets....and also looking at 40k+ budget...dont know if it's similar to what you are planning... anyone can advise if it's possible at 40k+?
  19. hi,

    can share your id contact?

may i know how the woodworks quality for your house?

  20. monk8

Saw your home and was quite impressed. Can I have your ID's contact details, Jessie?

may i know how's the woodswork in your house?

I'm asking as the woodswork for the wardrobes and kitchen cabinets in the current house are not well made so very particular on that for the new house.

  21. hi gakuseisean, Thanks for the reply and the sample looks!! yes, this color combination is what I have mind.. Oh, didnt know contemporary isnt a minimalist...just took the test and it said comtemporary. will be going for dark wood instead of light, not following current trend as trend is always changing. noted on the cement flooring, am more or less decided not going for that as I read more cons than pros. when you mentioned concrete tiles or natural (matte) stone, do you mean granite and marble flooring?? that type of flooring is not cheap, trying to keep to my budget. yes, parquet flooring is definitely more warmth. we had parquet flooring for current place but it has stated to crack up over the lines...wondering if it's the workmanship or the quality of the parquet. trying to avoid this hence thinking of laminate flooring....or is parquet not supposed to crack up over the lines? Actually, loved this all white minimalist room...thinking of going similar except sofa will be grey and dining table dark wood and no carpet..would you know what's the flooring used here...normal matt white tiles? most of the rooms will be in whites, the shades of greys are for the kitchen and bathrooms and the sofa, dark wood colors are the dining table and the bedrooms floorings (laminate flooring or maybe parquet) and maybe the bed frames and tables (if any) dont know if all these colors still considered minimalist but keeping everything clean lines... loved this bathroom as well...but am thinking without the wall of mirrors and with grey flooring instead... Any suggestions and comments? Thanks again for these!
  22. hi gakuseisean, i have left some questions in your other thread....do you want me to ask them here instead?
