I had a better experience. We looked around for a long time until I met the ID that did my place. They are not cheap, just that their payment terms is very special. 10% on confirmation and balance on 99% completion. I thought for a long while, and its not that I mind paying first, just that I heard a lot of horror stories of after paying and receiving sub-standard workmanship/service. And I was right, person with money in the pocket is the boss. And I was the 'boss' throughout the renovation, the attitude was consistent all the way till I receive my keys back. Cool!

Business hard to do... don't blame these sales lo... so many people selling the same thing, if I am salesman probably will do the same/more thing...

For PE endorsement, if it does not include any calculations, meaning they take your plan, chop their PE chop, submit to authorities, it will be probably $500-600. If need calculation type, like hack wall, make corridor narrower, then need to calculate the fire escape, this will go for >$1k-$1.5k... if those more complicated angmoh house, (landed properties) like deck extension la, new overhang la, move column la (yes, amazingly, column can be moved), this will be 'they say whay you pay what'...

Hoe Kee or Sim Siang Chun sell a lot of these accessories... if you have the measurements, even those cheap cheap china product shops in HDB also could have...

How come can let the reno run for 7months??? Insane one your contractor. Mine hack whole house and a lot of customised carpentry, only 1.5months finish... (exclude the design...) Somemore only pay 10% on confirmation and balance only when carpentry is complete. Really need to complain to the authorities and get these bogus contractors out of the way.

You can try contacting my contractor Chong @ 82888262 from Alliance Design & Build. Not very cheap, but I feel assured as they can do payment with 10% on confirmation and balance on 90% completion.

Heard a lot about these bad experiences of paying and jobs not done, contractors take money and run away. I think I am the lucky few where my contractor only took 10% after confirmation and balance on 99% completion. He is not the cheapest, but he told me 'CHEAP, FAST, GOOD' choose only 2. Ha....

I think they engaged an ID call Suying Design. This co. however don't do ID for commoners like us... they only do direct with Developers for ID of whole projects.
