HI. Congrats on getting your new home. Don't worry, as long does it sound, a year will pass by real soon. I am still counting down to gets the keys next month latest early July. Totally understand the insane wait that literally killed us. Lol. As for the kitchen cabinet, right from the 1st meeting, I specifically informed the ID way before signing anything that I wanted solid Nyatoh wood and strictly no laminate. In fact everything was designed by myself, my ID only put in on drawing and to make it a reality. I am indeed a very fussy person when it comes to design and type of material that I want to use. So my ID have to follow everything that I want. After all, that's what we paid them for. But so far so good, my ID tried his best to accommodate all of my needs and requirements. Solid Nyatoh is definitely way more expensive than laminate. But it sure last way longer than laminate. Therefore, your selected ID must be able to give what you want. You have to be firm with them on your exact requirements on design and material. So good luck to you. I wish you all the best. -

Will update soon. Key collection will be quite soon. I can't wait to get all this done and over with... Stay tune... -

As for my kids room, I have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. Therefore am having them to share the same bedroom till they are big enough to sleep in their own room. As for the other room, will maintain it as their play room. So here is my color scheme for the kids shared bedroom. Half Blue and half Pink: Am buying extendable bed for the kids from Ikea. Cheap and practical use of space. Am getting a simple Ikea wardrobe as well for them Since the size of the wardrobe is not big, therefore am buying 2 so they can have their own wardrobe. -

Ok, finally got the updated 3Ds from my ID. All is good except the toilet tiles as I have yet to make my selections. Will be heading to Hafary this weekend with my ID to select the tiles. Excited much. The Final 3D of the Living room: Final 3D of my Kitchen. Except, still weighing to change the pinkish granite top to a marble look white quartz as still calculating if I do have the budget to top up from granite to quartz. Tho the white marble like quartz are way nicer: Final 3D of the Masterbedroom: 3Ds of both bathroom. Will confirm the tiles this weekend. But this is the layout and vanity have been confirmed for: -

Hi. Apparently the details were given very specific on the exact layout and exact design as I design every bit myself. I also provided the exact pictures for every single item that needs to be done. Perhaps the designer tried to be creative and wanted to go the extra mile but went completely wrong. Nevertheless, I supposed they are dealing with too many project hence they got mixed up. Since I still have about 2 months before key collection, I am not going to push them too hard. As long as they next draft is the accurate ones, I'm happy enough. & hopefully the workmanship is as great as well. Now im just waiting for the new draft to come in and keep my self busy with purchasing more and more things for the house. Thanks for the luck. I need them badly. -

It has been a while since I last update. Finally got my 3Ds after the 1st wrong draft from my ID. He went away from my specific classic design to more Victorian. So I had to have him remove and replace all that was needed. So was excited to see the 3Ds once again after the amendment, however, was left a little disappointed as he got quite a few factors wrong. Major wrong was my flooring for the whole house. It was supposed to be dark grey HERF. And quite a few errors here and there. So here are the inaccurate 3Ds for my place: Living room, firstly, please ignore the furniture as that was't what it was supposed to be (guessed they used whatever they have), wrong floor type and colour with wrong wall colour at my dining (not sure why suddenly 1 side upper wall became white when it was supposed to be grey) and wrong wall colour at the living behind the sofa (it was supposed to be bottom half white) Here is my kitchen with obviously wrong floor material and colour with the wrong colour back splash and wrong material and colour for the granite counter top. Lastly here is my master bedroom. Almost perfect but just missed by the wrong colour floor and colour headboard as it was supposed to be creamish instead of pure white as I want the contrast with the white frame Hope to get the accurate 3Ds soon. Being a perfectionist, I want everything to be just right and perfect. So now I have to just wait for the right one. Hopefully it's soon. -

Hi. Firstly, don't get my design wrong as it is not Victorian. I'm going for the simple classic European but modern with a touch of classic american design. I don't go too detail in theme but maintain the classic beauty. I have yet to start on my renovation so I shall wait till my reno kick start before I would share the full ID details just in case. But so far, service have been very prompt. Will definitely PM you the details once I have kick start with my reno. It will be soon. So stay tune. -

Me and hubby will be heading to JB soon to look for and purchase fans. Since we need 5 ceiling fans, 2 for living and dining (no chandelier kinda home, I just need to be practical as I don't wish to eat in sweat... ) and 3 for all the bedrooms. Been checking the prices here, they are ridiculously expensive. So since prices ib JB are the same but in RM, therfore, we will proceed and make our purchases there. So for fans, am looking at a simple white fan. 2 with lights (for both common rooms) and 3 without (for the rest). -

Well, I have made some purchases for the house. I would love to purchase form taobao but because I barely understand as it was all in Chinese and they can't ship direct to Singapore, I took another alternative and made purchases from Aliexpress instead. My favourite China website. Been looking at the bathroom accessories at Sim Siang Choon and Hoe Kee. I must say that Sim Siang Choon prices are ridiculously expensive. The only reasonable price item there was this tub that we are going to purchase soon. I am also purchasing these from Hoe Kee for both bathroom As for the Aliexpress purchases, I have so far purchase these 3 items, super cheap... Less than half the price in SG plus free shipping... Bathroom sink faucet: Kitchen sink faucet: And bathroom shower head set: Have also purchased another shower head from expo but think we did a mistake as it was over priced. But again, there are always mistakes no matter how perfect we want it to be. So now can't do much and suck it up and move on... -

Have fun with the Taylor B staffs.. We've got good discount and good amount of freebies as well. So I think we're good on this one... Woah... That explains why they can afford the super high range mattress with that kind of house... -

Glad to hear that. But 1st hand experience when we did our deposit, sale staff very relax and not pushy. Unlike other brands. Coz we went to expo for the purchase. Now can't wait to sleep on it. Lol. -

Apparently they are. Price wise not. Only staffs are very ATAS! When I was there earlier, there were 3 other people there and they were Ang Moh's. Very double standard. They didn't entertain me but well services the Ang Moh's. But then again, I I'll still make a second trip as stuffs are nice and still on affordable range. -

I am still looking for the right design and right price for my dressing vanity / study table (i have an i mac and that's the only place I can store it) and a bedside table. Looking into these mirrored ones to enhance the tiny space and giving it a punch of glamorous look. Lol... -

On another note, I shall share on my master bedroom design ideas. For now, I have only purchased a super comfy King size Sealy mattress that me and hubby have been eyeing on for a while. Since the price dropped so much during CNY, we decided to proceed and paid the deposit. So to compliment the super tiny bedroom, we are still surveying for a storage divan. Still sourcing for the right price. So no firmness on this one. As for the wardrobe, we are going for a solid wood L-shaped white wardrobe to maximize the tiny space that we have. Right next to the end of wardrobe, i will have a full height built in cushion headboard with white wood frame trimming around it I will be having the creamish tufted cushion instead of the diamond cut cushion but still retaining the white wooden frame -

I didn't get the chance to check the price as the do not have any corner sofa that I want. But checked the price of the dining chair there similar to mine, it's very affordable. Not on high range. But quality seems very good. You'd be spoilt for choices there as they have 3 floors. -

Mummyoftwo... Thank you so much.. I went to drop by Taylor B a while ago during lunch and I think I just died and went to Furniture Haven. Lol. The things there are gorgeous.. But the service there are so bad. So will come by again another day when I have more time.. Thank you again. -

Mummyoftwo, you mean ParisHome? Lol. I was there yesterday to check the showroom. 1stly, the sofas are not comfortable at all. Secondly the cushions where we sit on are extra charges. They are very pricey and on top of that the delivery charges are base on 30% of your purchase price. That's completely absurd. Therefore, I completely strike them off my list. -

OK, before i continue with the design ideas, I'd share a little bit on the insane ID / Contractor search. Sounds crazy but this is my 1st home so I want everything to be perfect plus I want to make sure that I can find the right person to be able to understand my concept and able to do up the designs that I have laid for them and most importantly, with the most reasonable price and the best chemistry between me, hubby and the ID / Contractor. We started hunting for a contractor since last year July - August. A year before the expected keys collection. We have seen countless (I really lost track of the number as it was too many) no of Id / Contractor with my floor plan and an idea board with me every time I meet them. It was quite simple explanation as I laid all the pictures of my ideas in order and exactly how and where it should be placed. Weirdly, most of them do not understand what I am saying. Lol. As though I was speaking an alien language. Fast forward, very few end up getting back to us but all the quotations were more than $60k. The rest went dead silent perhaps they don't need my $?? Only 1 of the ID that came back to us very promptly and the vibe was good from him right from the 1st meeting last September. He seems to understand everything that I said which is great and totally non pushy and don't mind the idea that we will only get the keys in July. The chemistry was good and we were very comfortable with him and we decided to have a second meeting with him just before CNY. After going through the details and again with more bargain, pens down, we signed the contract with him having all that we need within our budget. We will be meeting up with him again for our 1st deposit and further discussion next weekend and hope to be able to see some 3D by then.
