  1. He doesn't like Heston Blumenthal hahahahahhahahaha
  2. erm... the happycall pots in pink? hahahhahaha in terms of suggestions that make him frown, i've lost count LOL. he's declared very often that he won't allow floral prints / wallpaper or any sort in this house. no floral prints on the plates & bowls as well. but to be fair, he's been quite accomodating thus far. He's donated an entire room for my walk-in wardrobe and he's let me create a storage cabinet under the staircase.... that's one big reason why I'm finding it hard to say no to his arcade machine, no matter how stupid i think it is.
  3. ..... ...... luckily he doesn't play darts hahahahahahhahahahaa
  4. ..... ..... My theme has gone from 'city living' to 'pub living' Did I mention that we're looking for a KTV system too? If i get the arcade machine, the pool table, the KTV system AND the beer dispenser (oh wait... I just remembered that he's already bought a cool bar side table), I think I might as well apply for a license and open a K-Box already.
  5. I don't know... Am having a headache now. How is the arcade machine 'city living'? *bang head* He's acting like a child hahahahahahahahahhahaha Does this mean I can ignore his wishes and dash out to buy loads of Hello Kitty plush toys to decorate the house with?
  6. Et Tu, Greg? He just sent me a message - "I've found a local supplier who can provide me the machine at the same price!! Going down on Sunday to check it out."
  7. oops sorry, I misunderstood If desatans is right, then what I'm referring to is different. Mine was a brand new termination point being installed. For relocation of the termination point, I have no clue at all. Sorry!
  8. We've received the 2nd draft of the 'Celebrity Chefs' wall decal from the decal supplier. Now this is what we're happy with, so we're most probably going to confirm this design - Hoping the actual thing will look as good in our kitchen! *fingers crossed*
  9. That's the trouble with him. If I remember correctly, he was excited about buying a 2nd hand foldable pool table first. Then later on, he was excited about buying a foosball / air hockey table. Now he's super excited about the arcade machine. Luckily he's hopeless at finding things at Taobao so he can't secretly go order it on his own. hahahahahaahahahahhaa that's true too!
  10. No. I'm supposed to be the princess who gets pampered, not the the mother pampering the boy.
  11. Hi cookiegal, Are you planning on using one of the traffic light telcos as your broadband service provider? I recently faced the same issues and posted them on my blog. In the end I went with the Green light telco, who threw in the opennet installation for free and the opennet appointment was 2 weeks after signing up with the telco.
  12. Like I said, I'm beginning to think my partner is a 5 year old boy. Never thought I'll be hearing things like "I don't care" and "I want!" this early on... ...
  13. This morning, the HTB was extremely excited - more than he normally is. Using his handphone, he showed me a forum thread over at Hardwarezone where this guy bought an entire arcade machine from Taobao. The link is here - http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/my-humble-hoot-taobao-4413146.html Apparently, that guy paid around $500+ to $600 for the machine (which includes shipping to Singapore) and this being China, naturally, has been modified so that there are all the old classic arcade games in the machine. According to the thread, there's Puzzle Bubble, King of Fighters, Marvel vs Capcom, 3 Kingdoms, Street Fighter etc etc etc. So needless to say, now HE wants to buy one too. *facepalm* Keeps exclaiming that this game reminds him of the time he used to skip school to head over to the arcades and how he's unbeaten at the Virtua Striker game over at Orchard Emerald (now no longer there, so to him, somehow this is a sign that his unbeaten record there will never be broken) Here's some photos of the size of the thing - I asked him nicely where he intends to place it. He says the Entertainment Room. I remind him that there's no space there anymore. Then he says the Living Room. I remind him once again that it totally clashes with the entire decor there. Next he says, "The Walk-in Wardrobe". I remind him that I refuse to get changed in an arcade. The last thing he said to me before he dropped me off on the way to his office was, "I don't care, I'm going to buy this. I can put this outside the house and charge all the neighbours' kids money to play. Banglas also can come to play." Seriously... I'm running out of face for me to palm.
  14. LOL good idea! hahahahhahahah but i'll still have to wait until he forgets about it... oh and I cannot give to a common friend. I can imagine what'll happen if I give it to a common friend, they hang it up and if we go to visit them - HTB: "Eh.... OMG i have the EXACT same painting! You have AWESOME taste! How much did you pay for it????!"
  15. hahhahahahah he thinks he's being funny but I wasn't amused when he came back with this. That's why I really plan to put it in the storeroom. Then i'll wait until he forgets about it, then I'll give it away!
  16. HAHAHAHAHA Luckily he doesn't come to RT or else he'll start thinking that he's very smart / funny and I'll have to continue suffering.
  17. http://singapore.gumtree.sg/c-Stuff-for-Sale-Home-Furnishing-Household-Decoration-Kitchen-Dinnerwares-1970s-Ping-Pong-Spoon-W0QQAdIdZ456254521 Interested in more ping pong bats for your collection, oldskool?
  18. Wow, that TV console looks very interesting! A bit of distressing and you're going to have a very unique centerpiece!
  19. HAHHAHA that's an EXCELLENT idea! you know, if it's artsy I can still tolerate it. but the problem now is that it's not even nice! Take a look at it - I was stunned when I first saw it, to be honest. I told him, "Our theme is 'city living'. How is this related to the theme?" And his brilliant response is that this is the 'origins' of city living... ... *facepalm* And he's so proud that it costs only $6. I wouldn't have taken it even if it was free. So now I'm either going to adopt Project H's suggestion of the storeroom or I can give it to whomever has a housewarming teehee... just need to find a way to do it without letting him realize....
  20. I absolutely agree! Yours is one of the few blogs that I check out daily!!
  21. Yup, the HTB has already bought some stuff from Amazon, but mostly decorative pieces. Which reminds me - he bought an UGLY painting back from Phnom Penh!! I'll take a photo of it and post it here tomorrow. I'm beginning to think that he's buying souvenirs from his travels just for the sake of buying them. I dread to think what he's going to bring back from Myanmar next week.....
  22. Haha I know, I'm just teasing. But we've already exceeded our renovation budget by 18%... Dreading the final figure.
  23. Yeah, shopping is always addictive, online or otherwise. Actually I don't know anything about shipping and logistics but 'your friend' tells me that typically it takes 3 days to load the container and to prep the vessel, including the sorting out of the B/L and other shipping documents. After that, a standard voyage lead time from China to Singapore is anytime from 12 - 16 days, after which there's still the unloading and documentation process for cargo clearance here in Singapore. Fingers crossed that our purchases arrive soon and in good condition. I'm going to place my second TB order now that the long Chinese holidays are over.
  24. My dear, if we could afford the 'more expensive range', this blog wouldn't be titled 'Mission Impossible', would it? ;P
  25. Hey Greg, No idea to be honest. That's what I read from WMF reviews online and that's what the Taka sales staff said when I pressed her about it. I like the happycall pots and am using them at home now too - the fact that they're in pink make me want them even more. We didn't get the table lamp because the HTB has already bought a Yue Minjun replica art piece and is hanging it where we would have placed the table lamp if we had bought it. Figured it'all be a bit of an overkill. Thanks for the kind words! We started out with a 'city living' theme, but when the FSM ordered us to use cream, we had to adapt somewhat. Now we are going with the 'confused living' theme ;P
