  1. Wow! Your 3D is really impressive. Can't wait for your reno to start and see the actual product. Enjoy your reno ya? Mine reno was quite a bumpy one; wouldnt say its the most enjoyable but i'm glad its finally over!
  2. I think he using the system 3 from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. That one not very widely used as compared to Mit Electric i.e. Starmex. Actually, I'm also using a brand thats not widely used for aircon leh (i think)...its Hitachi. Now getting worried. I bought a System 4 Inverter for about $2.8k from Gain City...top up about $400 plus for 5yr ext warranty. Tot thats quite a good deal. Gain City assured me that the model I bought is a new one and said its good. Not used it yet cos my official shifting into new house is this Sunday lor....so dunno how is it. Anyone using Hitachi aircon here? Any feedback?
  3. Hey all Ok thanks for all your advice. gam sia! I suspected that ID was trying to pull a fast one...**** it
  4. Hey all Sorry to interject...mine post is not anything on money saving stuff. need advise. If i wanna change my set of bathroom WC plus sink given by HDB in the common bathroom, can I just purchase the WC and Sink, remove the existing ones and install it without having to hack the floor/wall tiles? Cos I already finished my reno for my new house but left out the common bath as we tot the tiiles given to us by HDB is still ok; just that now i'm thinking of 'upgrading' WC and sink. My ID said cannot and must hack out everything in order to change the WC and sink which I seriously think its stupid. I think he's trying to pull a fast one on me. Eitherway, I don't wanna anything to do with my ID (tho his performance can rival that of an avg contractor, NOT an ID) now my reno is complete and handed over. Anyone can advise? Tks in advance.
  5. Hi Jamez Can i check with you when did your ID do the final paint for your house? was it before or after carpentry installation? And how many coats of paint? I find it strange my ID is doing the final paint AFTER carpentry installation...wouldnt this result in uneven color surfaces esp the area behind the carpentry? and risk paint getting onto them? I'm not too pleased with the ID and the pace of work....alot of screw ups by the ID and I'm like need to go monitor my house almost every other day. Also, did you make full payment before commencing installation of carpentry? Sigh....renovating house sure is a headache! sian man Today suppose to deliver all the carpentry pieces but at 4pm, the ID called and say cos their lorry broke down, can't deliver liao. can only do it tomorrow and install at same time....
  6. Oh. Wood flooring = timber strips? sorry i'm quite confused by all these wood floorings...how much did your ID quote you on the wood flooring? Any treatment to prevent it from being eaten by termites, water proof etc? I understand for my "Supreme" wood laminate, it cant get water on it else it will warp. But because its synthetically treated wood or crudely put, 'false wood', no danger of getting termite attack...
  7. Hi jamez Wah seh your house transformation is i really like your dining area...trying to see if i can 'steal' some inspiration for my own dining area !! anyway, when will the rest of your furnishings and electricals coming in? congrats again on a nicely done up homey!
  8. Hihi Wow your place looks great. Excellent choice of colors and furnitures. Makes your place look sleek and modern. I guess our reno is at about the same stage...just pending the carpentry. I got quite a lot of carpentry in cabinet, wardrobe, platform bed, full height bedhead, divider cum shoe cabinet, HS feature wall, tv console cum feature wall, study room cabinet and L-shaped study table, MBR side cabinet ... gonna take awhile for all these carpentry stuff... BTW, yours is parquet flooring rite? Any idea if my wood laminate flooring needs polishing too???
  9. Hello Jamez! Dropping by to say hi. Your house turning out to be a really neat and cosy home! Congrats! Yea your boss quite inflexible. No one to cover you? You are the only one in your office who can solve their problem? For me, family stuff definitely comes first and luckily, my bosses so far have been great. Even allow me to take 'unrecorded leave' to leave office earlier to sort out some reno complications.
