  1. @ MsBunny I have the design in my mind so most likely going for contractor. The famous Mr K is a must to meet.... I think ID is good as they can coordinate all works. Btw, love your bathroom! The type I wanted but I will have to hack the basin.... @varying Thanks for the info! At least can agar agar.
  2. Ya! Imagine my reaction when he told me 30k-36k! Faint..... I can do the whole reno + furniture & applicances with this money man! Even the bedside table he also custom made it. I told him I can buy any pattern I want outside. He said if take out feature wall will deduct about $2k. Still, his quote of $25k+ is sitll on high side, very high!
  3. I met up with that young ID from Expo. Gave me 2 designs which I think is rather simple. I can think of that too. Told me budget around 30-36k max. Siow! I asked him is he sure?! It's only a 2 room flat. Turned out his budget including everything from TV feature wall, painting of whole house, track lights, false ceilings etc with those I requesed earlier. For vinyl flooring, he told me it's about $7-$8 per sq feet. Got so expensive one meh?! Min will be around $5-$6. He said everything quote me most expensive one. Then if I choose the cheaper one he will refund. In fact, if that's the design I'm looking at, I can just go to a contractor. But he did say the overlaying of flooring will be more ex now due to new rule of pre-mix cement...... Even if I took out TV feature wall, painting of whole house, track lights, false ceilings, it will still cost aroung 25k+. But he's the first one I met so of course I will check with others. But I heard this design company don't come cheap as they are using better quality. Hmm......
  4. Ya, the first ID did factor this in and told me width of queen size bed frame around 2m, deduct wardrobe 60cm & wall thickness I left about 30-40cm. Varying's type not enough for me leh.....
  5. Oh! Then overlay cheaper than hacking. My bedroom measure 3mx3.55m. Another idea to hack the wall between living room and bedroom. But also playing with the idea of placing the 1.5m width quuen size bed frame along the 3.55m wall. Then I have about 1.3m for my wardrobe.
  6. Ya, I think 17.5k sound reasonable. Can face lah but I left 30-40cm to "crab" around. Lol!
  7. Very nice Varying! Went to MyHome furniture & reno at Expo on Friday. Chatted with 2 IDs. 1 quoted me estimated 17.5k which include - vinyl flooring, kitchen top & bottom cabinets with quartz top, full height wardrobe, shoe cabinet & a display cabinet, hacking of toilet basin, seal up one door & a shower screen. Cost include hacking of toilet & kitchen titles as well. 6k goes to toilet as he said "big project". Keep on asking me to do wall feature in living room which I know I don't fancy. He said it's quite impossiblet to have the wardrobe facing queen size bed lah.... young chap but seem to knows what's he talking about. Another one everything also can but cannot quote me an estimation cost on the spot. Both said the norm for wardrobe is 60cm (exterior). This one even said it's ok to have the bed facing wardrobe. Width of room 3m, atter deducting 60cm for wardrobe + 190cm bed frame still have 50cm to walk. I asked him sure or not? Don't need to consider thickness of wall meh??? He cannot answer lor! Still I think my 30k all in should still works.
  8. Ya. Also sliding door must be used. But still I think I will need to "crab".
  9. Hi Varying, Nice! But I'm curious also why 38cm deep wardrobe. Will it be enough to hang your hanger in? I just measure my hanger already 40cm..... mu current wardrobe measure 52cm. I was hoping to have something like this but with 3m width in my room don't know feasible or not.

  11. Wow! Congrats! Must be very excited liao. Same thinking, I also thought of not renovating so early. Wait cleaning the dust big headache. But then again, can't wait to move in!
  12. Basin consider one of the OCS? Haha! I din know that. I thought standard toilet must have toilet bowl and basin.
  13. Basin & toilet bowl sure have for every BTO. Most probably I will change the basin. As for toilet bowl, if ok quality then no need to change.
  14. Hi MsBunny, I also wnated concrete screed for my kitchen floor but read too many reviews that it will crack over time so gave up. But it certainly look cool and easy to clean with a concrete screed surface!
  15. Hi Kyooko, Did not opt for anything but when I book my unit no option on bathroom sink leh. Only tiles and door.
  16. Hi BunniBoi, Yes, did not take up any of the optional components. Anyway, it's only the door and floor tile. As a 2 roomer, we only have one choice on the door. As for the floor tiles, I will say forget it lah. You can have many options if you spend a bit more.
  17. Wow! I have not come in for 3 weeks and we have so many new members! Welcome! @BunniBoi If you see the optional components for 2 room, I think you will not take it up. It's really ugly and only one choice for the door. @Rainbow1979 Thanks for the nice pics! @mmoh Seem like you will be getting your keys soon. Btw, any idea are we allow to change the main door and the metal gate? I just made a trip to my future house this afternoon and they are now buliding my 15th floor, after this will be roof level! Woohoo!
  18. Many from this forum bought from Taobao but for me unless I see and feel the thing myself I will not buy online even if cheaper. Buy online might be cheaper but also depend on heng suay. Then if not suitable want to exchange also headache.
  19. I seriously think that 30k all in will be a more realistic figure. Nowadays applicances not cheap too. That day I saw LG washer cum dryer already 1k+. Furniture also not cheap leh.
  20. I definitely wants a TV console and already have in mind what it looks like. As for the bay area, I was thinking of doing a smaller one not for sitting purpose but for some ornaments to be placed.
  21. Very nice! But my living room with "short" so not sure can squeeze this in. I'm crazy about furnitures with pencil legs. Theme will be more towards scandinavian style since I'm more "angmo". My block now built till 13th level. Next month I will see my 15th level! Woohoo!
  22. Hi mmoh, This's my FP. Sorry for the poor resolution. First 2 times error said not permitted to upload pdf file. Third time file too big then I realise I uploaded a 5.29mb file. Lol! I took this FP using hp from my laptop screen. Me too, not going to have multi-functional murphy bed + desk + cupboard combo. To me everything all together looks cramp to me. Bedroom for me is simple, queen size bed + big wardrobe which have a dressing table in as well. @ mmoh. Your bay window with storage is in living room or bedroom? I have that in mind too but not sure can fit in after the sofa and dining table....
