agree with u.. 3years ago,my mum engaged a contractor to do her hse. After her hse is done, my mum decided to add a few feature walls on the hse. Mum asked the contractor to do but the contractor was unable to do due to limited resource. He say he will source out the work to other pple, but in the end the contractor didnt get back to my mum. dont ask me why the contractor cant do the feature wall..i also want to know the answer also the feature wall my mum requested is normal type, not difficult design. my mum is giving the contractor extra business to do but he didnt get back to her eventually my conclusion is that, "some" contractor only provide basic reno. they cant do much for u if u want them to do more carpentry. so.. ID = more carpentry. contractor=basic reno. IMHO nowadays ID and contractor's price is quite competitive..

initially was v worried abt the wardrobe colour combination,cos we chose this colour at abt 1030pm at night on 7th Dec..we are all exhausted at that time. cos the chosing of laminates starts at 730pm. took 3hrs for carpentry uncle to measure and chose our laminates

oh ok..thanks for the advice, i havent check if the door is ok or not, dont dare to touch it cos its just done today only hehe will go and try it out tmr

Hi Happy, eh..i cant remember the break down of the feature wall already. have to check later ya the shower screen can swing outward too, u can see at the handle of the door, its inside and ouside for the wardrobe hor, actually we wanted to do all frosted glass wardrobe, but me and my wife cant give in each other on the swing and sliding, so we give in to each other, do 1 swing, 2 sliding,hehe forget abt the idea of all frosted glass wardrobe already the E,F,G,I..i not sure leh,but ops,i type wrongly..its not glass, its mirror. my fsm say must put mirror there. the mirrors will be inserted into those alphabets area

the left door is swing the other right 2 door is sliding my wife's idea is that swing door is better for her to do make up, and make use of the mirror inside the door to see while doing make up. (so if open the swing door, the mirror is on the wall side. on her right side is where she place her make up etc)

my wardrobe..v simple design, cos my wife wanted swing door, i wanted sliding door. so guess what, we did swing+sliding, hehe so funny of our idea my ID said if do swing, cant do coloured glass or frosted glass on wardrobe. so we do all laminated wardrobe. dont look so nice as compared to frosted glass la,but nvm, i want sliding! my wife wants swing, so bo bian =p

the tv only can hang on the laminate portion,but not the glass portion..i am not sure how to hang also =p added in the door already kitchen cabinet.still work in process dining area featured wall..(glass not up yet). the glass is in between the laminate closer look of the laminate on the dining area.also glossy laminate,hehe, i love glossy woody laminate "see the alphabet E,F,G", is for the glass to fit in

ya that long long thing is shoe cabinet..i used the same design as per my 3D drawing.. more pictures to come.wait ah.. tv console..havent complete..the bare body is waiting for black glass to come also using glossy wood laminate..

hi happy, the answer is "yes.." need to wait till kitchen cabinet finish. then wait for solid top to arrive in a few days later. reason is because there will be a final measurement on the cabinet to make the solid top suits completely my mum's hse also have to wait. my ID also tell me that need to wait till the cabinet finish then can do the top

ic..hehe u must be v excited to see the end result of the carpentry

hi Gidler, its normal for u to feel this way la i have the same thinking with you too during my first few meetings with different ID but when u meet more ID, u will know that most ID are like that, they will ask u what u want.. after u see more ID, u will roughly know what u want already.. for me, my 1-3 seen ID, i also duno what i want, i asked them directly to give me recommendations. i tell them that my mind is very blank, duno what to do my 4-8 seen ID, i straight away say i want this and this and that then i asked abt 6 of my 8 seen IDs to re-quote again the final quote i want enjoy your reno process, its fun =)

ops, i forgot to check the name of the curtain shop on the receipt..but its one of the 3 curtain shop at clementi. i check the receipt from my wife then i get back to u again k? if u r at clementi one day, the curtain shop is located at baleno that stretch of shops the other 2 shops are located at: 1) beside posb 2) walk further down posb that stretch there is another curtain shop located beside the tv electronic shop. merry xmas too =) nvr go for drink, every year count down xmas also quite tiring, this year come home earlier to rest hehe how abt u? didnt go for a drink or countdown?

ya, hehe excited..these cabinets will be up v soon, think a few days time all the cabinets will be up. quite fast for them to install the cabinet..the long waiting part is the factory work ya black galaxy granite top, i still duno how much shall i top up for the granite top,but that time i heard that must top up a few hundreds ba..not exactly sure how much, meeting my ID this sat to discuss and also installation of my accessories yup i guess u can ask lawrence to bring u to see on the 1st week of jan already. my estimated completion date is 10th Jan 08

my carpentry started work at factory on 10th Dec. Took 2 weeks to complete all the work. finally arrived today (heard from my friends that factory took abt 2weeks to do the work) i had too many changes for my carpentry. keke, so difficult to chose with so many types of different laminates. ,inititally wanted to do bedhead, now remove bedhead and allocate budget to galaxy black granite top for kitchen cos wife says she wants to cook, so we want do a nicer kitchen here is the kitchen with some of the cabinets (cos living room full hse, some cabinets need to hide here) my curtain installation is on the 12th Jan 2008 leh cos i need to wait till carpentry "up" then i can do curtain..dun want to dirty my curtain so early.. sure i will post it up once its done =) hi bro, i have just posted the photo, u can see my window grilles already

yup need to have special lights for wealth area,my fsm asked me to buy something for other area though, too exp so didnt buy, i need to source for some water thing for my water location too, hehe, alot of things to buy, no $ already

pictures coming, hehe.. not many but at least some =) previously was taken from handphone, now i took with camera, better pic my plc lights my saucer light. cost $55, i like it cos its very easy to change the bulb.. see that only 3 hook will do.. mbr light..(inside also using round bulb)

hehe we have almost the same style of lights..except i dont have foyer entrance light. i also dont have dining lights too, just use the PLC lights to shine on the dining area will do i am also looking the standing type of light for my living room at my "wealth" location

ok will ask my ID to drill the hole for me btw..realised that i cant buy ikea curtain for the 2 bedrooms. the wall is prutuding too much away from the window, so if hang curtain will not be nice. i have bought blinds (duno spell at binds or blinds la keke) instead..its will be hang on the bottom of the wall nearer to the window. bought at ikea at price of $50 per blind, quite cheap leh bought shower curtain for my kitchen bathroom also - rod $25 - curtain $12 - hook $2 total $39

v nice 3D drawings btw u did alot of carpentry, ur reno package is quite reasonable..hacking of tiles cost alot
