  1. hihi, can i check when you overlay kitchen wall tiles, what happen to your electrical swtiches? do you need an electrician to take it out or just lay over the tiles around the switches?

I am worried abt the conversion of voltage...so although cheap in US but it might not even last here... I love my tiles haha, why do you need to finalise tiles b4 choosing?   8. Argh...why are there so many problem with our brand new flats! Try to insist it is not your fault? Ask whether the HDB office can pick up the tab? You just have to engage a plumber, I am sure your ID has a plumber? If not, i can recommend you mine...

  17. my hubby is getting a kitchenaid mixer for me!! Bel, it is way cheaper in States...hehe you should get 1 too. But I am worried about the voltage though Have to admit I am growing old when a kitchen mixer can make me as happy as receiving a Gucci bag
  18. thanks to all! hmmm....choosing water heater is an art of its own it seem... yes Jazz, same sentiments...no bathtub, rainshower is gd haha i do agree with mirage on the bomb shelter, if the door is remove, defeat the purpose (if suspected terrorist can escape from detention ctr) who know what might happen...

  20. I am still very confused about the 1) storage tank - so it run on gas or electricity? 2) Gas heater (Citygas) does not store water? I thought I saw a tank of water outside my friend's toilet and she told me thats from City gas.... Would appreciate any advise..Thanks!

  25. After lurking around for so long in the main forum thread for newbies at JM. I thought I will join in the fun although I am doing minimal renovations... big thanks to all who have given me advice and encouragement in 1 way or another this also serve as an update for my hubby who is working in states so he can see what is happening to our flat to make sure it is still intact living room & bedrooms homo tiles- slightly textured but cant tell from the pictures kitchen tiles- same textures as living room tiles but black the only complaint now is the lady at defect office told me to go ahead to start reno after i reported seepage as rectification will take place outside the building now HDB said i shouldnt have proceed as we cant check it has been rectified....
