  1. I was an ex customer of Living Story. Luckily, my products came (minor hiccups only, no big problem) and i have no problem with them. This is none of my business, but sorry i just can't help it... Renologic, i think you should stop the act. It's becoming so blatant that it stopped being funny after a while. To be frank, I think you're causing the company more harm than good.
  2. Thanks all for the suggestions! In the end i bought a smaller stove And shifted the position of the stove "hole" a few inches to the right. So now the corner of the stove is no longer poking at my stove
  3. Me and my wife saw Life Story's ad on newspaper some weeks ago and went down to take a look. Upon reaching there, i have this feeling that something is wrong, seems like i've read abt this Life story vs life storey thread before.. but i can't recall whether life story or life storey is the pirated one! Nvm... went to see see.. ended up buying a Vono mattress and bed frame (chosen off the catalog*_*) and managed to bargain for a free bed side table... Once i went home.. looked up the thread and my worst fears were confirmed. i had placed a $1k deposit with the infamous shop... was worried sick for a while, wondering if we should bring forward the delivery date. But today, everything got delivered and was in good order. The bed frame isn't as nice as we expected, but it's new and looks to be in good condition. i guess its a matter of heng/sway when u deal with that shop. Even though i got my goods with no hiccup this time, dun think i dare to try my luck again. lol Good luck all!
  4. Hi there, The paint and varnish part is true... but the "easily done" part is anything but. At least in my case Esp if you're doing your kitchen cabinets... the oil residue is a ***** to remove, and if you don't remove it prior to sanding, vanishing, it will look terrible. It took me and wife hours and hours and hours to do it... and it's still not completed yet! It's going to cost easily over $1k to get ppl to do it (for kitchen). If you had to go through what me and wifey gone through (and not over yet), perhaps you will find it money well spent. It is an art, the sanding (unless yours is a piece of raw untreated wood, which is unlikely) is an art, the vanishing (not as easy as painting) is an art...
  5. Hi All, For rates and services, can find at Master Ang's website: http://www.masterang.com.sg/
  6. Hi, Im in the midst of engaging master ang's service. He's been to my house and done the audit, now undergoing renovation and he will be coming down again after reno is completed to "check" and give final advise. My general notes: Once you step into his office, wah, really feels like a traditional old school FS master office. One that is doing well, mind you. Got lots of his FS cheena literature, some of his own FS ornaments (he doesn't sell any FS items), chinese antiques, photo of him and ex taiwan president Chen Shu Bian(did he manage to calculate CSB's downfall?), etc etc. Not like some other FS master whos office looks more like a telcom service centre, with computers, receptionists, etc. Neither like some FS masters' office which looks like a struggling office space that looks bare, uninterested, and no business. He's not the kind who will ask you to hack this and change that unless it's a absolute necessity. He doesn't believe in Lilian too's style of buying and placing excessive FS ornaments. He condemns crystal "caves", laughs at the belief and usage of pixius, etc. The way he calculates some FS stuff is really like in chinese movies, where the shifu will use his fingers to calculate, like, touch finger tips to finger tips. I call that fingers "chut power". Cons: He tends to be rather brief and i think he's slighty on the impatient side. (i always tell my gf: "I like! Talented ppl are often impatient!") His business seems to be very good, and i think he's the treasurer or something of people's park complex committee, so he tends to be a bit busy, sometimes hard to talk to him in details over the phone or at his office. In general, whether he's good or not, I will know after i move in and see if i can feel any improvement in my and my family's life right? So i'll only be able to give a proper conclusion in a few month's time But if you're looking for a traditional FS master who won't try to cheat you to buy this and buy that, or who's not **** anal about everything (bed face toilet will die, this cannot, that sure have to do, else $%^& will happen), and based his recommendations and advices on self experience that of his past clients, u just want FS advices and not someone to talk cok sing song and share grandmother grandfather story, then I think Master Ang is ur man. Regards, Darren

  9. Hi Smartfool, may i know where is Lims Art and craft? Are they the cheap paper kind? Hi Mace, thanks a lot! but i think those are the silk kind.. too ex for 1 time use..
  10. Hi Mr Chong, Would like to get your suggestion on how to solve this problem. My stove is currently facing "half a wall", and I've heard that the angle of the facing wall is an arrow pointing towards my stove. House direction from main door: 80 degrees. Male owner: 1982, female owner: 1982 (both yr of dog) By right i think best is to extend the facing wall to totally cover the stove, but problem is there is not enough space to do so! If i extend, then cannot walk already! 1 idea given by the contractor is to build out a round wooden "cabinet", so the angle of the wall is rounded, instead of 90 degrees angle. However it still will not "cover" the entire stove. Is that also ok? Or is there anything else i can do? Grow "plants" on that wall? Can use glass to build something to round up that angle? Lastly, is it ok for the stove to be viewable from the door/living room, or is it better to build a door or curtain at kitchen's doorway to hide it from view? Thanks a lot for your advise, Darren
  11. Anyone knows where to get nice lanterns? Best if they're plain and round, comes in selection of color (1 color per lantern of cos). As we'll be needing at least 10 of them, and only for use for 4 hours, cannot be too expensive! We're thinking of hanging them at our semi-outdoor ROM, with moon cakes and all on that special night
  12. Thanks all for the advises and suggestions! In the end decided to drop the wood idea, partly due to cost, and partly cos i scared my dog pee pee in the balcony.. the the smell will get soaked into the wood or seep underneath and... u know la...
  13. His proposal is either to 1) Extend the wall (not enough space to do so) 2) Shift the stove (not enough space, otherwise major overhaul required) So im here to see if anyone here can think of alternatives which does not cost a bomb... then i can ask my FSM if that idea is do-able.
  14. Hi all, The ex owner built this platform which me and future wife has every intention to remove, as it's taking too much space. Some contractors warned that the installers might have "nailed" the structure to the floor.. best case is they might use glue instead. Anyone experienced this when removing platform, or have seen how they install such platforms? If the worst fears come true, i would want to "cover" the terracotta tiles with parguet. Can they just overlay? Any one knows where to find good lobang for parquet flooring? My contracter wants to charge me about $1.3k for the area (abt 150 sq ft) Lastly, regarding the cost of doing tiles (for my balcony)... i estimated the area to be about 90 sq ft. Based on $3.50 psf tiles, the cost will be about $300 for the tiles. how come my contractor charging me more than $1k ah? Workmanship and BIG profit? If i buy tiles myself, who should i get to install for more savings?
  15. My FSM told me as long as the stove is not facing the main door, its ok. (putting aside the calculations for ur bazi, etc etc) Can be seen from an angle from the door, etc etc is ok, and very hard to avoid anyhow.
