  1. I love the floor tiles you have chosen to go along with the subway tiles!
  2. Thank you so much for the informative reply. I really appreciate it!
  3. Hi Ocean, I have a few questions on taobao.. hope you can help me with it 1) For amcon, how long would they hold our items for us from the moment the package reaches their warehouse? cause some orders take longer to arrive. 2) Will they automatically ship out one CBM the moment the items consolidated hit one CBM size? 3) In the email May sent me, she mentioned " Once you have "快递号码“please fill up the form attached" the form is "淘宝&快递 货物装箱报关单(PACKING LIST & INVOICE)" what does that mean? am i able to consolidate a few numbers before i send the form to her? I am not sure how to pace the process as i am worried if i wait for all the shipment's number to given, some parcels would have reached her before i get to send to form out. any advice? Your help is appreciated. thanks in advance!
  4. Random updates: My order from Qoo10 for velvet non slip hangers has arrived. While its super cheap -around 30 odd cents per piece, I am slightly unhappy with the color. I purchased gray and what i received is like a khaki brown color.
  5. I guess the price is acceptable for a suar table that is from a reputable source. If it makes you feel better, I had to pay an additional charge for my black metal legs too. OT abit.. If I could just share one things with you for tiles choosing, remember to check if the tile you chose need to have a minimum grout gap. Good luck to renovation journey.. I am sure you will find the process really fun! I will be checking your blog out when its up
  6. Suar wood dining table....! so pretty... but so expensive too Care to share where and how much? Yeah, I cannot stand tiny bathrooms too. The two things I feel really sian about HDB is the toilet and the non full length windows. Even after combining the storeroom into part of the MBR toilet, I still feel its too small because the extension, though great to have, it doesnt improve the shower area which is super crammed. I had difficulties buying the toilet bowl because of the limited space there too. I also wish that the window in the toilets can be bigger for ventilation. Maybe you can use bigger mirrors to open up the space and go for lighter color tiles to reduce the claustrophobic feeling Will you be starting a thread here soon? Keen to look at your ID's proposed layout and your bto unit!
  7. Thanks for your advice Its okay la.. I am a christian.. I don't believe in FS. Btw, the bed is facing the walk in wardrobe door
  8. Your advice is really making a lot of sense.. I cant believe initally I actually thought that was the least needed room for aircon haha.. Yup, the past saturday and sunday is really horrid. And the sunlight was super glaring too! It just rained in serangoon tho heh... Thank you!
  9. So what is the theme that you are likely going for? I really like the changes you are making to the current floor plan. Really gonna be when old turns new Was it your ID who suggested the change in layout or you yourself? Has your hacking been approved? Yeah.. at first when I received my quotation, it was in 3 pages. So when I saw the cost at the bottom of the first page I was naively happy then i turn over.... I feel like maybe I was overcharged but when I compare around I realized its the same everywhere. This is so cute. I really like Bt Merah area. Lotsa good food! Srgn is not bad also la.. got chomp chomp.. and nex (but very crowded always)
  10. Tell me about the freaking weather again >.< I am definitely installing in the living room and MBR , actually for my walk in, dining and spare room, is not really die die must install. This is also why I have not commit totally to the aircon yet cuz I feel that 3 places I mentioned would be under utilized. Thanks for the introducing me the deal. If I decide to go w Toshiba I will definitely use the info you provide!! All the best to your reno too I am excited for you. Will pop by your thread from time to time
  11. Hi dear! I am currently staying very near you (near the yck church opp the mosque) Old flats are like that.. a lot of renovate.. so add up quite costly. Mine also around this amount(slightly more in fact) I am so excited to see the upcoming transformation. Gonna follow your updates So you main door is at the foyer there and the access balcony is the recess area you are purchasing is it? Sorry huh, I'm a bit confused heh..
  12. I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for letting me know! Turns out you are the one enlightening me heh.. I am sorry I can't help. I guess if its made in Japan it should be fine. Good thing is we have yet to totally commit to Daikin yet so if that is really the case guess I will be switching to Toshiba too. If not I might change to a system 3/4 (if it is lighter) since we do not need so many units. (its just me and the husband )
  13. Hi ma5quer, these are originally from Crate and Barrel. I believe they still sell these two pieces. The reason why I custom made them is because I really like the designs but the dimension cannot work for me. The first table is of a study table size but I am planning to use it for dining. The coffee table is too short horizontally for my sofa/living room. My sofa is 3m and this is only around 1.5m if i am not wrong. If what crate and barrel is selling works for you in terms of dimension, you should consider getting from them instead because it is slightly more expensive to custom order them. I got a carpenter from Malaysia to do it for me. He owns a wood factory. If you are keen I can pass you the contact ^^ Honestly, if given a choice I would choose new flats. Nowadays, the btos are very pretty.. like condo in fact. Those with full length windows especially. Smaller area means less area to renovate. I am someone happy living in a studio so I guess spacious living isnt as tempting for me as for others Cleaning up is easier for a smaller area too!
  14. Yeah.. indeed the spaciousness is a huge advantage but older flats have problems that newer ones don't have. The main thing would be having to tear down literally everything instead of having a blank canvas and that is quite costly.. Even though the overall size is bigger, but the toilets are really small. Especially the one in the MBR. Thank god the storeroom was approved to be coverted into part of it. Plastering is a must do. Have to rewire and reapply water proofing. That means a lot of hacking. Lots of unsightly pipes at weird places. And the exterior of older flats is really quite ugly =/ and that is something we cannot change. And also, the lifts. So i guess both has its own set of issues to be tackled. I was at your thread to look around.. do post your completed reno's image for us to admire hope you are settling in nicely.
