  1. congrats to candyprincess and albert, dun be worry, its juz sooner or later. btw, which blk you bk? hi angelwrath, your mitshubishi inverter is from Best Tech cost $3.4k? can ask hw many system? from my enquiries, these are some of the prices i gather (incl all piping, insulation and installation fee) toshiba: - system 3, inverter: ard S$2.7k - system 3, non-inverter: ard S$2.5k mitsubishi - system 3, inverter: ard S$2.5k - system 3, non-inverter: ard S$2.3k so far, recommendation for us is to use inverter type as it save electricity usage = save money in long run = environment friendly = a bit more ex my hb want to air-con the whole hse. so i hv to get 2 sets. but till not, havent decide hw the air-con arrangement is like yet, whether 3+3 or 4+2. i think to get gd price, better find yellow pages and call those air-con companies who sell and install these air-con units.
  2. oh i c no wonder the frustration. btw, can go to town council and ask how cum take so long? insist to talk to someone of higher level whose in charge of these renovation works and make them explain why must take so long. but i guess as usual, i think due to the big lot of flats being taken at a short time during the apr selection, hdb not able to manage to handover all flats to all owners at same time. i duno. but hw abt everyday call once to their office and make them feel frustrated abt you and this might register in their mind to do your unit faster. sometime i really also dun understand their way of work. but all of us all boh bian... feeling like head put on chopping board waiting to be chop

  5. have friends who used both type before so hope to share these views with you guz storage heater - - when on electricity to heat up, must wait a while (juz a little while only) den the water will heat up and can use - you can run hot and cold water outlet to all taps in the hse if you use this but of coz it b more ex as copper piping is used - usually the power of the water got to do with the HDB supply, and it shouldn't be affected. the main thing that affect the water pressure is the point of use, ie the type of shower rose/head if you using storage heater instant heater - - when on electricity, instant hot water come out, dun hv to wait - you can only use for that particular toilet only. some ppl like storage heater bcoz no choice, they hv too many toilets - there are many brand of heater in the mkt and usually these are the ones that will affect the water pressure (from alot of my friends' experience) kingcoil mattress - ya, currently im using those posture type, ie abit more hard type. it is still quite good after 5 years. no sagging in the middle or the corner comparing to some spring type or those softer type which will sag. and it comes with a 10 years warranty
  6. juz managed to upload these pics that my hb had taken as the pics show, all tiling are done, there are conceal electrical pts, toilet taps and vanity top are done, so most of the things that i need for my reno are: massive carpentry works for cabinets **** rm, bedrm and kitchen kitchen top, hob & hood lighting for all area only a few new furniture as we have most of the things already this is my balcony, blue sliding full height door view of the hall taken from balcony... can oversea opp blk neighbour and maybe i can do painting of wat i see next time... notti me !! one of the room. pic taken from outside of room dr the kitchen. fully tiled and with flower border pattern. the floor tile is medium blue the fully tiled toilet with flower pattern tiles with vanity top and tap ready !! !!
  7. izt? why ppl want corner unit? easy to escape? anyway, as the blk is round, it is hard to get alot of wind and sun from the main gate. but ours is juz nice facing the roof, meaning its half round type, and as for the sun, it shine in from the balcony at a slanting angle, never directly into the hse, and its the morning sun that we are getting. so by afternoon it will start to cool down and by night time, it will be cooler. i guess nowadays the new hses all like that one. hard to get gd ventilation unlike those older flats, esp those point blks. i have many friends who live in sengkang and pungol areas and the flat are so near with the flat interior being very squarish, most of their flats are quite warm with little wind / ventilation. but maybe for those higher flr units, they may get more ventilation as in one of my friend's case. i duno, there are pros and cons, the sengkang and pungol flats are much newer and may appeal to many young couples. but i like sembawang esp the blk 468+ area as it is D&B, the interior is much bigger due to its design, and the environment is more quiet and of coz... in days to come, friendly neighbours like you guz here made everything even lagi wonderful !! but of coz, another reason maybe ppl may have no choice coz HDB want to develop other newer areas !!
  8. juz like wat i say, maybe that time those blk 468+ too many leftovers and many are aiming for those blk 300+ as they are nearer to MRT and also mine is a corner unit, maybe some ppl also dun want lor and also may i ask if you are 1st timer 1st timer can get faster i think
  9. erm... i think that its consider 2nd appt. 1st appt is go there to chose the unit and pay the downpayment. den letter cum vy fast which is out of our expectation. den when go HDB 2nd time, they give the keys after signing tons of papers lor but this 2nd appt cum vy fast the reason on why we were shock is that currently we have a house and we need to sell the house after renovation, and we din expect that it will cum so fast lor

  11. duno leh... maybe that time too many empty units available when i apply that time, there are at least 500++ units in sembawang areas, esp the blk 468+ areas spoil for choice and location. so we juz ham tam lor but i think there are criteria to meet, esp if you are 1st timer or not. we are vy lucky coz our unit's tilings color co-ordination is well match, no major defects, no tiles crack, even wall plastering was good, seating toilet bowls are in good condition, no leakage, not much dirt or rubbish in the toilet or anywhere else, windows and doors are closed, no hairline crack even. juz that the lock of the main gate is no good. i simply like the full wall tile at kitchen and toilet, where there are flower border patterns in blue and the background is white. the toilets floor tiles are in a darker shade of blue, about the same color as the banner in this forum (refer to the banner where it state 'Any Sembawang Homers?'). the kitchen floor tiles are in a lighter shade of blue than the toilet, and its about the same color as the surrounding background when you are replying in the forum. the kitchen and toilet wall tiles are in white with blue flower border patterns type. and the rest of the floor tiles, living and bed rms, are in white. gates are painted in ivory, could be white initially and after so long of vacancy, it become ivory as for the door, its a dull shade of blue, which looks exactly like this emoticon which i dun like, will repaint it. i will try to upload some pics later my current projects that i have completed currently, but not yet decided: - i have checked out abt 28 renovators ... i know, i know, even my hubby also can't believe it and complain also - went to joo chiat, bedok, jurong to check out curtain prices - went to hoe kee, genova, sim chang choon, song cho, poh joo, and all along jalan berseh areas to check out kitchen and sanitary wares prices - also went to along jalan berseh + kelantan areas to check out lighting prices still need to go and shop shop look look
  12. hi all and to angelwrath, you can view 468+ blks at this thread http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...2257&st=160 its the round blk with blue window. to update all, we went for the HDB sale earlier this year. We went to look at the showflat, decided whether we like it or not and went to register our application online. den we were given a letter to go to HDB to choose the unit that we want. before we do that, we went there a few times to look at which blk and units that we aim for. we chose our unit during june. we got a letter to go HDB for down payment in mid july and we gotten the keys on that day. we went there to check out the unit, write down the defects that we microscoped as we only have 7 days grace to submit our defect list. den town council contacted us and made an appt to meet at our unit with the contractor to rectify the defect (which the officer at town council delayed abit). now have to wait for contractor to come back and rectify next week. now still in the process of shortlisting renovators lor hope next time when i shifted in, we can get together more often

Hi all, me newbie i was from the apr bi mthly selection batch. my nest at 46+ , the blue fan shaped blks, high flr premium. me n hubby like the D&B concept and serene surrounding, nearby schools, etc. for our selection, it was vy fast. go view showflat, apply online, abt -1 week know result (q num, hdb appt date), then go on the apptd date and sign papers. we were told that expect to wait 4 to 6mths for taking of keys. but abt 2+mths from date of appt day, hdb letter come and we go down to sign more papers and collect of keys on the spot. we were so excited that we go immediately to inspect the hse now looking for ID for reno and tats y ended up here i think most of the flats at sembawang are sold out now after hdb re-gargle the sale so now got more neighbours
