  1. For those with Stainless steel sink and in the middle of renovation, sometimes the contractor uses the tap and the water came in contact with cement, tiles, clay, etc creating hard water and eventually leave with water marks and stain that is difficult to remove. I have scrubbed using towel but the stain still remain when the sink is dry. Here is how i eventually got it removed.

    Things used:

    • Oxo Squeegee
    • Heinz diluted white vinegar
    • Bicabornate of soda
    • dry towel
    • 3M sponge
    • Time required: 10 minutes

it is actually quite easy to remove, all we need is some diluted white vinegar and bi-carbonate of soda. I tried the 'artificial' vinegar and it isn't as good as the Heinz one. Really powerful. I'm using a 3M sponge (green side) and a towel.

bi-carbonate and vinegar to create a paste and use the 3M green side to scrub. :sport-smiley-003: Please do not scrub too hard, it will scratch your SS sink. Just lightly rub the stain off. Then use a dry towel to wipe off excess paste and see if the stain has been removed

  2. Initially thought we will only do one toilet which is the MBR toilet, now we think we should also do the common toilet and it is no going back. We import another Kraus bathroom sink combo... :jammin::jammin:

    http://www.amazon.com/Kraus-C-GV-395-19mm-10SN-Vessel-Waterfall-Faucet/dp/B00HI0DQ3S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432819129&sr=8-1&keywords=gv+395

Will arrive in 4 days, free shipping as usual. This one is slightly more expensive than the kitchen and MBR Kraus sink.

So now we have a total of 3 Kraus sink and tap. :notti::notti: Quality is really top notch. :good:

Will take picture when it arrive. Hopefully before this Sunday. ETA Friday 29nd May.

  3. Hi hi, noticed that you bought the 707 Princeton as well. Have you tried using it? The water pressure from my 707 Princeton shower head is kinda weak and I wonder if it's gotta do with the design of the shower head itself, the fact that the water pipe is coming from ceiling down (instead of floor up) or something else altogether... :(

First I would check outside the house if the main tap valve is opened fully. If it is, contact pub and share with them your issue ask them if it is possible to do a pressure test as it should read 2.5 bar of pressure.

Then after that slowly track where the pressure loss happens, if it is the shower head, change it. There are water saving features in built into it and I do realise that the pressure is smaller compared to those I have used. New bto I realise the pressure is smaller esp on the top few floors. I'm at level 16, 2nd most top floor and the pressure isn't as strong as those on the 5th and 2nd which I have experience but others areas.

it could also be the mixer where there could be a flow limiter. I may just ask my plumber to remove it to check if the limiter is the cause. Many reasons may lead to low pressure but I'm actually quite determine to make sure that I enjoy my shower. I'm guilty of turning up the water.

  4. Philips house brand got 1 year warranty. Philips own brand 2 years warranty.

Need to pluck the light down? I was told on site. Anyway, fuss free for me. Ya can try house of chandelier also. It's near me so that's why get from them.

I bought all my light bulbs from overseas at 1/3 the price.

I love your MBR wardrobe concept. Mind sharing with me.... do you find limited walking space after putting in bed?

The bed is suppose to be place next to the wardrobe but since it is not finished yet, we leave a gap to check on other things. When we push the bed all the way, walking is fine. Space is fine as well. The "walkway" from the wardrobe is 75cm, once inside the walking space is 90cm.

Next up, we will discuss with ID on our toilet design and we have another side project before finishing the renovation.

Last night manage to get another kraus bathroom basin and faucet combo. Free shipping as well. Can't wait for it to arrive.

  6. Don't worry about the wooden shelves you can change to glass any time you feel like it. Get the basic ones first and change along the way.

That's how I look at it. Currently I'm using the wooden shelves, any time in the next couple of years I want to change it? It's a call away. No hassle at all.

If you want to use direct glass shelves it is ok as well. 5ft ain't big so no worries!!

  7. Had a couple of free time on hand so went down to see what else need to be touched up. We are in the process of getting our toilet overlay with tiles but in the interim all work is more or less completed (90%).

Clean all the windows with the Oxo squeegee, one of the best i have ever used! got from Amazon.

  8. For equipment and machinery if it is being service and re condition periodically it should extend the lifespan slightly. However, there is something call mean time before failure (mtbf). In other words, the product is being built with a time frame in mind for example 7 years. It does not mean it will break down at year 7 it also has a chance of breaking down since day 1.

More and more products are getting shorter and shorter mtbf, and certainly even on a recent Japan trip, I was told that Japanese product are shortening their mtbf. However, there are still some very good made in Japan, Germany, U.S. Etc which are very reliable.

A lot of these depends on the strategy of the manufacturing plant.

Maybe you can share with us the brand.

  9. Kimi,

He is about 5 years into this industry and considered less experience from those with long history and big brand names. He is the boss of the company and engages his team to do the renovation. I would say so far forum members have seen his work and engages him. That would speak a lot because he uses only word of mouth through quality work.

The glass door is very solid but you must also be aware that it will be heavier and expensive. A normal PD door is about 200 odds, this glass door is $680. It is 10mm tempered glass.

    Thanks for dropping by.

    You have PM.
