  1. Need your advice... For old hdb flats the 2 steps outside the door, would you Contractor charge you extra for putting tiles on the walls beside the steps?
  2. Hi! Need your advice. I am still doing renovation for my resale flat, and I notice that my contractor is laying new tiles for my kitchen, while the electrical cables guy is laying cables on the ceiling and walls. so what happened is, while my contractor just finished 1 row of tiles (left to dry for a day or less i think), the electrical cable guy was stepping on it and onto a ladder to drill the holes and lay the cables on the ceiling and walls. Does this sound very right? Shouldn't they put protection sheets on the tiles to protect them? For my toilet tiles also...no protection at all. I can see the cable guy put the ladder on the tiles to do the cabling. I wonder if they ever drag the ladder on my tiles. I am not sure if I am being anal or is this the common practice? please advise.
  3. Forgot to mention that my flat is a 3room NG hdb flat... Kitchen length as per floor plan is about 6150mm
  4. Hi! Anyone knows hdb can allow how much extension of the living room into kitchen? I am intending to convert about 6.5feet of kitchen area into living room area.. Don't know hdb allow anot... Anybody has managed to do this and got approval before? Or anyone knows hdb can allow up to how much ? Thanks in advance!
  5. yeah me too..digging super old thread but same topic.. question is, can we seal off the rubbish chute? I am currently looking to buy a 3rm resale flat, but is very particular and scared to having pests at home. I recalled my first home (with the chute inside the house) is infested with cockroaches, cockroaches eggs, etc all coming from the chute. sometimes i open the chute i can spot one climbing inside or on the rim. i know most 3rm resale flats are old, and hardly will there be those with a central chute area (if there is please let me know!) so question would be can we seal off completely the rubbish chute? any other alternatives to this? if die die get one like this I am not intending to use the chute at all.
