Actually my hubby and I speculate that the metal gauze in the toilet is destroyed by the electrician but he kk put the blame on the workers. Ur electrician is it call Ah Meng? Well this is only our speculation so never tell Patrick. we just told him it's spoilt, dunno who do it. then he say he will replace it. One thing good about him is, if it's their fault, he will resolve it. My hubby say, as long as upon delivery, everything is in good order, he will close one eye. I think so far Ah Keong very straight to the point. IMO, i think he look cute. haha. dun look like someone who is a carpenter. Anything that is not good, he will come straight to the point and say it's not good.

Yeah.. that's what i thought too. normally the quotation has got no limit of material used unless is those special kind one. My 5ft full height feature wall is $900. Maybe cos it's cheaper bah.

no i am using those normal laminate material which i have to choose those that cost less than $50/sqf. my feature wall which is 5 ft, is quoted in laminate. if i want veneer, then have to add $300.

i think it depends on wat hidden cost you mean. if u say abt material, eg. his quote say PVC but actually u thought ur bookshelf should be laminate or veneer. feature wall he quote us is laminate. if we want veneer need to top up cash. I think for ID company, all these material does not add to the cost, unless u ask other materials other than PVC, laminate or veneer. It's very hard to get an attractive discount from him too. HDB got one rule that the electrical wire must go round the edge of the house and cannot go across the ceiling and conceal. But the electrician just pulled ours across the ceiling. It's all done and we can only LL. Just hope HDB won't come and check. So if you are renovating the house, maybe remind them dun do that. We also have cove lights in our house but the electrician leave gaps in between the flourescent lights, causing shadows when we on the lights. My ID fren said these should not be happening. Our carpenter, Ah Keong, seems to be knowledgeable and experienced. But we haven't start our carpentry work so cannot comment on their workmanship. last weekend i went to my house and found urinate in the toilet bowl and not flushed. it is ok for us to let the workers to use the toilet or even to bath. but they didn't flush it is quite bad.

I bought my shoe cabinet and day bed from roomyroom. Actually the actual name of the shop is Big Buy Furniture. The stocks were delivered last week. Everything in good condition. The items there not all are good. So you must know how to pick and choose. My contractor saw the furniture and he said it is nice. FYI, my contractor dun comment if it's not good.

hi Ixiul, Congrats! But there are also ppl with bad experiences with him. So it's better to meet up with him and see whether you all can click or not. It's true like some ppl say that he is very busy. But so far for me, if his wife answers the call, we will tell her to ask Patrick to call us back and which he did on the same day. Even if he collects deposit, dun think he will run away. he has been in the industry for quite long liao. he also dun wan to smash his biz mah. We didn't ask my ID fren to draw for free. he got pay him an amount one cos he need to draw, choose color, etc, for us. We are really an idiot in design. But comparing with engaging an ID company, it is still cheaper. If you show Patrick a photo from a magazine, he say he can do the same thing for your house. Feature wall also can. For drawing of the carpentry works, his carpenter Ah Keong will draw it. But dun expect 3D drawing cos they are not ID firm. Patrick will liase, electricians, painters, etc for you. After you have confirmed Ho Bee, Patrick will arrange Ah Keong to call you to discuss on the design. If you have any problem with your reno, jsut contact Patrick will do.

ok. then see whether your quotation is as expensive or not. I haven't complete my reno with HO Bee Yet. Just started yesterday morning. Expect to finish my end of March. so far my experience with Patrick (Ho Bee in-charge) is, he is very responsive and knowledgeable. He knows what can be done and what not useful. Sometimes we feel certain design is nice, but he told us the limitation and leave it to us to decide want it or not. Best part is, he haven't collect any deposit from us yet although the reno already started. We've asked him two times when to pay the first installment. He just say no hurry. will tell us to pay when need to. so at least u won't need to scared he will runaway. Ho Bee is a renovation company so they dun have an ID to help you with the designing of the house. I got my friend who is an ID to help us to design our house. Have you gotten your house keys?

Hi, have you gotten your quotation already? Previously, I have spoke to them and gotten their quotation. Sorry i do not have any working experience with them but had spoke to one of the designer and feel comfortable with him. Price wise, it's way too expensive. i would rather engage a branded ID company to do the job. For the same thing of work done, they quotated me ard 30k. In the end we went to Ho Bee Renovation and get a friend to help us with design. Our quotation is only ard 20k.

Hi, Let me post some comments on All Best. I also bought Mit. Easy Clean non-inverter System 3. Last Saturday, we arranged for the All Best contractor to come down and install the aircon trunking, together with my contractor. The appt time was 9.30am and they came at 10.40am. The contractor keep apologising to us for being late. We just kept quiet. The whole experience was ok. it took abt 3 hrs to complete the whole trunking. The workmanship is acceptable. The advices they gave us on the layout of the trunking is also acceptable. So far I don't have any complaints except for the lateness. Shall wait till the aircon unit is installed and give further comments.

if the scope is just to design, provide 2 3D design and supervision of the renovation work (so liasing with the contractor is required).

I went there too on 31 Dec. The Centre is so quiet. customer only abt 3 couples in the whole building (cos i went to every floor). And the things are not as cheap. NOrmal price and nothing much.

i dun quite remember wat is in the quote. I can name a few which is false ceiling for whole house except toilets, MBR, 2 bedrooms and kitchen, kitchen cabinets, shower screens for both toilet, doors for all bedrooms and toilet. That is all i can remember. This quote is not confirmed cos my hubby is still considering wat we want to add and wat to remove into the quote. Moreover, i haven't got my house keys. should be getting it in 2-3 mths' time.

Previously we emailed him our floor plan and he took 2 days to reply us. Yesterday my hubby and I had a discussion and decided to have Ho Bee to renovate our house. We like his frankness and most imptly, he gave us a a peace of mind and also a lot of recommendations in the forum.

That time i ask Ho Bee whether can intro Air Con company. He tell us to go and find our own better cos it will be cheaper than he bring us to find. We are surprised with the answer cos normally contractor or ID will want to intro. Maybe they can get comission one if customer buy thing from the shop they intro.

Mace, I am not sure about hidden cost. I am a very newbie here. my house should be ready between Dec-Feb. So now just looking around. I have looked for 1 other and HoBee and kind of lazy to look around already. Most likely will be signing with Ho Bee. He also mentioned to me no need deposit, which i think he is very trusting! He said cos nowadays a lot of contractor runaways, so in order not to let us owners feel worried, he dun wan to take deposit.

i also agree Patrick is very knowledgable. Had met him up previously. my house should be ready by CNY. So most likely will confirm with Patrick too. My hubby thinks he is very honest. Sometimes we suggested some ideas, he tell us an alternative that will cost us lesser or even tell us dun do cos will be waste of money. but his quote is a bit on the expensive side.

hi ophelia_hua, I also saw this shop at Furniture Mall. I do agree that the price is reasonable. They told me they had been in Furniture Mall for 7 yrs.
