Saw a neighbours house renovated by them. The carpentry has delivered to the house. The wood are stapled together. shouldn't it be screwed in? Not sure whether this is the norm. but using staple to join the wood seems so flimsy.

NOrmally i feel Places that ID bring are more exp. My friend need a piece of stone in the hosue so ID offered to bring her here and there. and she bought a piece of stone at $50... Then one day while shopping with my fren, we saw the same piece of stone selling at $40. and the worse thing is, we saw the same thing again at another shop and it is selling at $38.

I agree women are more difficult to please. haha. Previously we ask Patrick to color light brown (i think) for door frames but last week go and see and find it ugly. then we called him yesterday to change to darker tone then he say it's ok and will paint for us this week. Whereas for my hubby, he say looks fine to him leh but he think darker tone will look even better. For Patrick's team, we prefer Ah Keong the best. His team's carpentry and workmanship is very good. No comments abt tiler cos no tiling to do. The rest of the team is quite good except for electrician.

from wat i heard is, veneer come in big piece of material and laminate comes in small pieces. so if feature wall is big one, then use laminate might be able to see the joints.

My view on reno packages is, check the items they provide in the package. For eg. in the package, got include say is 15ft kitchen cabinets. But your kitchen is 30ft. so that means ur kitchen need to top up that extra feet. Then got one ID company i've seen b4 is, they give granite top for kitchen table top for that 15ft. but ur kitchen surface already more than that, so u need to pay the extra granite as well. So you add up all these extras and see whether it's still worth to get the package.

i am installing window, Patrick has settle our permit for that window. I dun know abt weiken. but i did a comparison with Rest n Relax, ***** and Intra Design b4. for the almost same thing of work done, the price is cheaper by 4k-6k. But if u compare to other contractor companies like New Ranger, etc, then it is a bit more expensive but HB workmanship is good and quite transparent.

That's good. Who is the new electrician? No 3D drawings. only sketches when you are doing carpentry work. U can provide ur own design or show pic from magazines and carpenter will tell u whether it's workable and usefulness cos u know sometimes designer's thinking is meant for showcasing kind and not really that suitable for daily use. For choosing tiles, lightings, etc, you will need to go and purchase urself. The most Patrick will do is just to recommend some places for you to go and buy.

I think i am the only one saying abt Ah Meng. Mace say Tao Chew also no good. I think Ah Meng must remind him to lay the electricity properly. else he will just lay the wire across the ceiling.
