  1. Erm,.. btw, I checked with my ID/Contractor, they say for new flat, no need to go with the renovation permit (4 mth) restriction, cause usually that one is for resale flat where they need to hack the floor tiles. Anyway, that aside... kudos to Alister.. for that ideas which I can use to
  2. Some updates for my unit! Just submitted for Cement screeding to HDB, hopefully they can do it fast . Hopefully all work will start rolling in the next 3 weeks after cement screeding. In the mean time was thinking to search for Washing Machine (7-8kg load) and Fridge (>600 liter) as Tilers need to know the dimension for both of the bases. Next thing to buy is Lights, Aircon and then only toilet accessories. For the 5-rm flat owner, what did you do with your shower screen for the common toilet, it seems that we can't install the "swing" type (due to toilet bowl and shower tap on a different side), seems like only can install "sliding" type. Anyone any comments?. not sure if 4-rm flats also have the same issue or not. Was wondering if the toilet user/guests did not "slide" the door back when shower, it still defeats the purpose, as the whole toilet will get wet. With "swing" type, user may be "forced" to a certain extent to close it. Anyone any suggestion on the "sliding" shower screen for common toilet issue?.
  3. Urm,..basically I did nothing.. . For me, one month CPF should be fine, who knows in case I stop working, then that money can be used
  4. Yeap, for my case not Fully wipe out. left around 1 mth CPF as a balance.
  5. I think 1 meter = around 3 fts. nope? (as 1 ft = around 30cm, and 100cm = 1m, so 1 meter equivalent 3ft plus or so)
  6. Hi Hi.. sorry miss out a lot of things..as I hv been unwell last weekend. Thanks for the info of the spot!. btw, I am from another estate (Jalan Membina), while my name and gadgetman's just so happen to be similar!. hehehe..
  7. Hi doremi, thanks for the info!! Will start Hob&Hood hunting based on citygas showroom price. I believe without 0% neighbourhood electrical shop can offer even cheaper. Does anyone know where to find electrical shops where I can see lots of different range and compare prices?. say Balestier, Jln Besar, etc?. Wishing to save time by visiting an area where there are lots of shops to compare prices with.
  8. They quote you S$3850 for System 4in1 aircon?!. Actually that was the kind of price gaincity quoted me as well, but after bargain I think they go down to 37xx. The price I check is Starmex-mitsubishi easy clean (4 green tick - for environmental friendly). From what I understand Starmex price is generally higher, some say due to the ads by Jack Neo. I spoken to the lady about bulk purchase, she just smile/chuckled and ask me to come down for selection/booking. should be able to nego for bulk purchase quar.. more bargaining power if go together.
  9. OK. this is another quote with Ms.Lim frm Allbest. Starmex - mitsubishi easy clean (4 check for environmental friendly and energy saving): System 2-in-1 Inverter : S$2000 System 3-in-1 Inverter : S$2600 System 4-in-1 Inverter : S$3500 above is 3/8" insulator, WITH GST and with installation etc. Non inverter one should be cheaper by 500-700 I think personally I feel if 2 or more bedroom switch on the aircon most of the time, then it's better to have inverter. for calculation.. hehe.. this really have to check with the expert.
  10. Well, what is the pricing like for both GPlan & U-home?. mind send me your quotes?
  11. Fridge is easier to read (pretty straightforward), but for air-con... it really confused me.. For Air-con seems like Daikin has better performance.. 4 green ticks, and for COP dunno the higher figure the better or the lower figure the better.
  12. Not sure about best tech though, but if you go to IMM gaincity (3rd floor I think, near Faxico), the shop beside gaincity is AllBest - phone 65636266. talked to a guy called Roy, and was given that price. Somehow I misplaced the price they gave last time.
  13. Hold on a sec... Fridge also got inverter and non-inverter type? phew.. anyone went to see Hob&Hood in citygas showroom (near Novena mrt)?. Just wondering if they do have credit card 0% installment or not. Aiks.. forgot to ask this on my last visit (some forum said they do, some said they don't). Any info on where we can see a full range of Hob&Hood like citygas? (some says the price there is more expensive). Been to IMM, but can't see much range/type of Hob&Hood like citygas showroom.
  14. Well, preferred to go for value for money. Gain city is not that cheap, a trip to the site (IMM) last weekend have the price different by S$300-400 for a (??), can't remember either system 4-in-1 or system 3-in-1. with a 3/8" insulator. (Personally it's safer to go for 1/2" insulator, if it's hidden inside your L-box). Allbest is pretty cheap, and their installation is pretty fast too!. my existing aircon was installed by them 2 years ago, and is still running fine n trouble free now. Allbest gives you one price, and that is the final price. (even tho gain city give high price and bargainable, the best price still can't beat allbest). anyway, below is the rough guide for Allbest. Starmex - mitsubishi easy clean (4 check for environmental friendly and energy saving): System 2-in-1 Inverter : S$2140 System 3-in-1 Inverter : S$2738 System 4-in-1 Inverter : S$3538 All above based on 3/8" insulator plus installation (hacking and trunking) and the casement. For 1/2" insulator, each air-con will need to top-up S$40. It would be good if anyone have other supplier who can give better price than this, it would be also good to have their background check on the installation work as well. ps: I only check the two supplier, since other forummer (and some ID) said gaincity is cheap, but seems it is not. Anyone any advise?

  16. yeah. it will be AllBest so far I compare between gaincity and allbest,.. unless someone can propose a better and cheaper supplier, basically I or most of us are open to that option. Bulk purchase should be cheaper.. ps:all best doesn't have 0% installment, but much cheaper than gaincity which has 0%, otherwise to opt for 0% installment, a surcharge of 5% will be there for allbest Erm.. non-inverter system 3-in-1 you can get below 2k 3 in 1 means 3 aircon and 1 compressor. hehe.. of course, they want to collect your money sooner. since they have finish building the house and need to pay the developer,.. and to earn some money from you to build other estates! Otherwise, CPF board also won't earn any interest from you any sooner.. Government getting rich....
  17. Anyone interested to go for Air-con bulk purchase? If interested, maybe can purchase in bulk so can get cheaper price. Let's start from me.. 1. Mitsubishi Electric System 3-in-1 inverter and System 2-in-1 inverter. 2. 3. 4.
  18. 1) Zanie 98 (Mistubishi/ Toshiba Inverter System 4) 2) Snuffy (Mitsubishi Non-inverter system 3) 3) ms_white/shay_d (Non-inverter system 3 @ >$2k) 4) droplets (Non-inverter system 4 probably) 5) tension_z (System 2, open to any brands/specs as long as it is cheap but good enough for living room and MBR) 6) gadgetgal (Mitsubishin Electric - Starmex System 3-in-1 Inverter and System 2-in-1 Inverter)
  19. Btw, anyone is thinking to get rid of his/her HDB door?. Just in case, for those who do not like or wish to sell it.
  20. Hi,hi... do count me in as well. Yeap, am going for AllBest in IMM. my email is: gadgetgalsg@gmail.com thanks! My configuration: System 3-in-1 and System 2-in-1 (both inverter). Bulk purchase will definitely be cheaper. haha... yeah.. indeed. I am from Jalan Membina's thread. Just trying to find a good door from hdb (which I like now). Yingsan, the haulage and debris is pretty subjective to the size of the area you are going to have tiles done. for me, some of my bedrooms are going to be laminated flooring, and cement screeding will be done by hdb, therefore my 5rm flat haulage and debris will be below $700 (if tiles for whole house will come around $1100). Do becareful if your ID/Contractor wanna chop your neck for full amount (in case u do laminate flooring) Hoho.. thanks for the info, Ms White!. btw, anyone has any picture of the door?.
  21. thanks. can send it to my email: gadgetgalsg@gmail.com
  22. Hi All, Anyone mind to post the pics of the doors?. I was thinking to get one from HDB myself for one of my suggested study room. Thanks!
  23. To those that knows how to read chinese, MyPaper (Wo Bao) has some article on the tiles floor issues!. Those who have read, mind to summarize and translate?. Tried to access the online version, but can't find the zoom in feature
  24. Hi Teddy, Have your problems resolved yet? Was wondering if you are willing to share your tiles supplier and the type of homo you are getting. It would be good to know and to avoid that particular tiles.
