  1. 25 out of 27 light points were from taobao. Only 1 had a bulb that was not working. I didn't even know it's suppose to come with one. I bought it for the housing design(see my storeroom light). Anyway it's a tungsten filament bulb. I switched out most to LEDs.
  2. I will take note of this thanks. Generally if I see a shelf flex I will brace it.
  3. Also found this box lying in the store. It is carrera marble hex tiles. Size is about 30x30. I have 10 pieces. I shipped it from US but have no use for it currently. I'll need to figure out what to DIY with this or sell them... So going to try sell it off first. Just so u know u are getting a good deal, The shipping of these tiles were **** painful. (AirFreight cost 2 times more than the tiles) It was initially meant for a framed area of the bathroom but I eventually opted for ones with surface that has a different look. anyone is interested, PM. Going for $100. ----------------------- update: tiles sold.
  4. Oh i just realise ikea has this. I'll just buy 3 of this and combine them to get my L shape. Pretty Cheap too... looks less industrial than those flyers pasted in the lift. Although load carrying capability reduced to 50kg per shelf which is fine with me. I don't think i can lift > 30kgs anyway.
  5. Fino 2 would not wobble i believe. Its a different kind of Fan. The blades are oriented at an angle to the ceiling whereas normal ceiling fans blades are parallel to the ceiling. I have the Fino1, i believe installation for Fino2 is similar. You wiill need to put 2 holes into the ceiling to mount the bracket. Put in another additional hole for the safety wire. Assemble the stem/motor/blade assembly and hook onto the wall bracket, Wire the power lines up. Slide the cover up to hide the wiring and tighten it, set the blade angle and you are done. Switch power on and play with the remote + enjoy the breeze.
  6. Thanks, looks like nothing to do with the u hook then. I'm using vento sole fan, also with modified short rod, also had wobble issues. Since I got my fan from Tampoi, the local distributor couldn't be bothered to entertain me. Refused to sell me the fan balancing kit too. I also noted that the wobbling decreases with use. Probably the rubber on the u hook getting "seasoned". During after Reno packing I foundthat a fan balancing kit supplied with the fan, it's where u stick a weight to fan blade like how they do car tyre balancing. If you notice the weights don't stay on the tyres for long... I never got around to using the kit as I fear the weight to be a projectile over time when it loses its adhesion.may cause serious injury. May kill even if it fly out of the window and lands on someone's head due to high floor. when the fan was first mounted, at low speed some wobbling, medium speed wobble like the fan going to drop off. I just swapped the blades around till I see it has least wobble and I let the fan run at low speed for a week. Thereafter no more wobble at low speed and intensity of wobble at medium decreased significantly. Then I did the same at medium speed. never got to do the same for high speed yet though.
  7. The bomb shelter rack. Designed a simple L rack to cater to my needs. If I were to make it from aluminum profiles & laminated plywood it would probably cost around $300. I see there are standard boltless racks out there that looks pretty cheap(at least the flyers pasted at the lift looks cheap). Asking for quotes now to see if they can make it in the dimensions that I need. I wonder how much this configuration will cost?
  8. Can you post a picture of Singapore version U-hook? Or perhaps a side by side comparison of the Malaysia u hook and Singapore u hook?
  9. Was clearing my bomb shelter for measurement of its inners (another DIY!.. ) and found that I had a stash of different lights that I bought for comparison but eventually not used. If interested PM me. Prices going at Cost. You can check the link for current product prices. I bought them sometime in Nov-Dec last year. You save on shipping, or PM your offer with your contact. POK Track Lights https://world.tmall.com/item/44238220251.htm?id=44238220251 I have 2x 3W(White Light) and 4x 7W(Warm Light) left. Please note they are ALL Black casing. POK Track (Black). Free if you take at least 3 pieces of the track lights. https://world.tmall.com/item/522212540782.htm?id=522212540782 This is how actual 2 sizes look like when installed. (Note the track here is 2m, and as you can see here, I bought too many of them, math fail) TEP LED Strips - Type is 5050 旗舰版-80珠(亮度提升200%) https://world.tmall.com/item/44015228195.htm?id=44015228195&skuId=3163493920697 I have 3 colors(White, Warm White, Yellow). It is the 5050/80 type. Used to be the best but now have the doublet ones. Anyway for cove and ambient light this brightness is sufficient. https://world.tmall.com/item/523408484301.htm?id=523408484301&skuId=3116030420143 You will need 1 LED driver. Loft Bird Cage Light. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=36904931064&toSite=main I have the Chrome one. (It comes with bulb, but as with stuff from taobao, it may not work. 3 bucks off if the bulb does not work, I've not tested it) Actual item. Don't know why I bought this... but its useful for small places. Its the 6W White version. https://world.tmall.com/item/35858914324.htm?id=35858914324 LOFT UFO Flying saucer pendant light. https://world.tmall.com/item/44608308562.htm?id=44608308562 Double head recess LED spot light. I only have the Black ones left. I bought both colors to try out but eventually I picked the silver ones. But if your theme is the dark and cave like ambience, you definitely need the black spot lights. Get from me ok?? There are 2 versions, 6 W and 10W, the 6W ones are 3 LED each head. while 10W ones are 5 LED each head. This is a very pretty wall lamp. Unfortunately it came late, my place is already full of lights, I did not cater space for it. https://world.tmall.com/item/35820680438.htm?id=35820680438 ermmm.... well, this is not a light. But is a HDB supplied new mixer tap that I had it taken out on the first day of reno as I switched to a thermostat mixer. There are some minor water stains and scratches but should be able to polish off. And it looks quite new... well its new, sort of... I've never used it. Don't know how to price this. Any reasonable offers will secure it. ps: Low ballers will be ignored. Peeps who made appointment to deal but decided fly kite last minute without informing and disappear without trace will be have his name(or nick) written on a yellow paper, pinned into a human figurine and hammered with a wooden clog and burn with 7 month offerings! Sorry... too many of such people around these days and Thanks for viewing.
  10. Ok I think I will skip on this, prefer more yellow. but thanks.
  11. Does the universal gold look the same as specialty gold?
  12. Thanks, btw, Were you using Rustoleum specialty gold spray for your drawer pulls right? Did you notice the paint dull/darkening over time? For my ottoman hack, I notice the areas that weren't touched were ok, but for those areas that were touched by hands/or legs rather the finish darkened over time. so I tried to clear coat it, but the gold finish dulled. (It did state on the can that clear coat is not recommended). At least it's even, but no longer the finish that i wanted. I will need to spray it again though I can't minimise legs touching it. wonder if silverware polish will help?
  13. Haha yeah thanks, real cheeky too... She knew I was taking picture so keep running into the camera view despite my attempts to shoo her away.
  14. A new DIY for a small console table. it has a pair of legs made with 2 by 4s wood joined in a rectangle shaped. Intitially they were painted white but it turned out horrible full of blisters and brush lines so I sanded it off and switched to spraying it white. Thereafter the inside faces were sprayed gold. And with 2 shelves from ikea combined lengthwise and wrapped in marble contact paper. This faux marble console table will go behind the sofa against the wall. Will be use to display some candles, and resting place for phone and remote controllers.
  15. Remember my previous design? Of the bomb shelter vent. https://www.flickr.com/gp/139714232@N05/95NX7A In position above the dining table. Sorry the dining table is full of rubbish right now so it is not shown.
  16. The washer pedestal in action. Tested with a few different loads and spin speeds, it walked like 10cm after 2 washers. I'm going to add 4 more legs with vibration dampers to it. Hopefully that will work. if it is eventually stable enough I'm gonna install a roller/track for sliding the baskets out/in.
  17. The manual has explanation for multiple mode which I read when first used it, but now I only briefly remembered it does something like ensure the portion of the water that first being output reaches the required temperature first providing an "instant" effect. The tank has more than 1 heater rod in it so i suppose they could control different areas accordingly. The heater(storage tank side) have both the power and control cable wired to it. The digital panel only have 1 control cable wired to it. If you have engineering background, a simple way to visualize the connection is to Just think of this as a relay that uses DC to switch AC at the heater. "Please excuse the sudden increase in text font. There is no specific intent. It occurs when I cut and paste pre typed text on my mobile and don't have the function to change font size here.
  18. Very good. Just I set up 1 timer in the morning and 1 timer in the evening once and I don't have to do anything else. " i didn't notice a MAX function... Basically if you need instant hot water when totally cold use the "multiple" function. I didn't time it, but from cold, I switched it on, turned on the taps and let the cold water run out while I took a piss, thereafter it's warm enough to bath in. 1min?
  19. For normal bath heaters, the switch supplies power to the heater directly. For this model with the digital panel, the power to the heater is electronically switched to the heater via the digital panel. This digital switch does not carry live wiring but do carry control lines so you'll need to have a way to hide it. As for unsightly lines, mine are all hidden. Power lines run inside the HDB provided pipe box. Control lines run also inside the pipe box up but travel a short distance inside the tiles to the switch height. Just need careful coordination with the parties involved. That everyone knows that they are suppose to wait for who... ie. 0. Tiler not to tile the portion of the wall where where the digital panel will be(other side of the wall) 1. Aosbath comes and mount the heater in the yard. 2. Electrician runs the control cable from the yard heater into the bath. And power cable from the bath out into the yard to connect to heater. 3. Plumber runs the piping from yard into the bath. 4. Aosbath comes and connect the electrical panel. And setup+ train you how to use it 5. Tiler completes the tile to hide the control cable. Note the power cable I chose to tap from the bathroom as that is power catered specially for water heater and have dedicated circuit breaker. That is more job for the electrician, most will just do it the easy way which is just to tap from the service yard power point which is from kitchen circuit which will be shared with most of your appliances depending on the wiring diagram stuff may trip if all on at the same time. and electrics and plumbing AOs can do but mine is included as part of my Reno contract so my contractor handled it for me. If u go direct to aosbath, you can schedule a site survey and their staff will come down and you can confirm all the queries you have with the technical staff directly. Like where can mount, Where to get the power from. Etc... yes, there is no backup switch if the digital panel goes kaput (I suppose 3yrs). We have no winter here it's fine I can bath in 30C water for a few days while I get the panel replaced. Or I can cook water to bath in, that's how I was bathed when I was a child.
  20. hello wsketchpad, My service yard is directly behind the bathroom, so the cable went in thru the wall between both rooms. Yes you are right. That is the default location for the HDB supplied heater switch. I replaced the heater switch with the digital touchpanel. So wiring are hidden. The control cables are also hidden under the tiles.
  21. Actually I was refering to accessing the charcoal filter that's embedded deep in the hood. Replacing them is like doing heart valve replacement surgery....however The external filters are just like you mention, 1 click open. For the rainshower, actually I found out if you orientate the head in a certain manner the noise can be cut by half with an observable increase in water pressure. So you are right, water saving when air is introduced and noisy.
  22. I have high expectation for German engineered products. So my description could have been a lil exaggerated. i hope your sink is the "cross" version. (See my post on toilet tile). My sink was the flat one and I had bulky timah road water ponding inside it. I suppose that may have resulted in the rust spots.
